It’s surf’s up for Ryan Guzman…

The 26-year-old half-Mexican American actor has signed on to star in the action drama Hold Your Ground.

Directed by Ben Nott (Drift), the film is set in the worlds of Southern California surf culture, Brazilian jiu jitsu and mixed martial arts.

It tells the story of an abandoned teen taken in by his long-lost uncle who teaches him about life through surfing and jiu jitsu.

Hold Your Ground, which was written by Michael W. Gray and Matthew Straquadin, will be shot in Southern California this summer.

Guzman will next appear on the big screen in Step Up: All In. He’ll also star opposite Jennifer Lopez in The Boy Next Door.
