The 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar’s new single “Monaco” has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. songs charts dated October 28.

The song is from his new LP, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, which debuts as his third No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200 albums chart.

Bad Bunny debuts two other songs from the set in both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. top 10: “Perro Negro,” with Feid, and “Fina,” with Young Miko.

“Monaco” begins atop the Billboard Global 200 with 82.3 million streams and 2,000 sold worldwide in its first week (October 13-19), giving Bad Bunny his second No. 1 debut, on the chart, following “Where She Goes,” which led for a week upon its start in June.

He previously reigned with “Un x100to,” with Grupo Frontera, for two weeks in May and “Dakiti,” with Jhay Cortez (now Jhayco), for three weeks in November-December 2020.

Bad Bunny breaks out of a tie with Drake and Olivia Rodrigo for the most Global 200 No. 1s among soloists; overall, only BTS, with seven, has more.

Likewise, “Monaco” launches atop Billboard Global Excl. U.S. with 57 million streams and 1,000 sold outside the U.S. October 13-19. He notches his second No. 1 debut, on the chart, after “Un x100to,” with Grupo Frontera, rose to the top for three weeks in May and “Dakiti,” with Jhay Cortez, began at No. 1 and ruled for five weeks in November-December 2020.

Bad Bunny solely claims the most Global Excl. U.S. No. 1s among soloists and ties BLACKPINK for the second-most among all acts; BTS leads all artists with seven No. 1s.

Bad Bunny Celebrates History-Making 1 Billion Spotify Streams for “Tití Me Preguntó”

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar recently visited Spotify’s newly launched Billions Club series.

“The feeling of having 1 billion streams for this song right now is the same emotion I felt when I got 5,000 plays for the first time,” Bad Bunny said. “For me, it’s just as big knowing that there are people who want to listen and want to enjoy what you make.” 

The song in question is “Tití Me Preguntó,” a track from his historic Un Verano Sin Ti album that officially reached 1 billion Spotify streams on January 23.

According to Spotify, Bad Bunny has 12 songs with more than 1 billion streams each on the platform — more than any other artist in Spotify history. He has accumulated 58 billion streams on the service, reigning as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year for the past three years.

In the video, Bad Bunny feasted on a lavish meal set on several plaques that commemorated his other songs with over 1 billion Spotify streams, including “Yonaguni,” “Dákiti” (with Jhayco) and “MIA” (with Drake).

In addition to basking in his record-breaking streaming success, the “Después de la Playa” singer also recounted the story behind the creation of “Tití Me Preguntó.” When tasked with telling the story of the song in 10 seconds, he replied, “That’s impossible. That’s a lifetime of love and romance.”

“It’s a song that was born very spontaneously,” he added. “All of the people mentioned in the song exist in real life. Nothing I say in that song is a lie, including the part where I say I want to fall in love, but I can’t.”

Nonetheless, Bad Bunny declined to specify which aunt he was singing about, because “they’ll get jealous and create a mess.”

Toward the end of his Billions Club episode, Bad Bunny made sure to thank his fans for their continued support, as well as his mother and father for believing in him “not just in music, but with every decision [he’s] made” in his life.

Bad Bunny has earned 11 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including his sole No. 1 single “I Like It” (with Cardi B & J Balvin). On the Billboard 200, he has notched five top 10 projects, two of which have reached the ranking’s summit: El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo (one week) and Un Verano Sin Ti (13 weeks).

During Drake’s Sunday night (August 13) concert in Inglewood, Calif., he brought up the 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar for a special announcement during his set… a new collaboration with Drake and Bad Bunny, much to the delight of concert attendees.

Bad Bunny“I wanna tell y’all something, because y’all are L.A. and we love you,” Drake told the crowd during a brief break between songs. “It’s been like six years since me and Benito did a song, so we got a song coming for y’all on my album and it’s real.”

Billboard reached out to Drake and Bad Bunny’s representatives for comment and any additional information.

The rappers last worked together on their collaborative track “a,” which was released in 2018. The song marked a few feats for each artist: “Mía” peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Bunny’s first top 10 single as a lead artist; and the single marked Drake’s 26th top 10 on the chart.

The song also marked the first time Drake sang entirely in Spanish on a track. The new track (the title of which is unknown) will appear on Drake’s forthcoming studio album, For All the Dogs (release date TBD).

Residente Teams Up with Ricky Martin for Epic Single “Quiero ser baladista”

The 45-year-old Puerto Rican rapper, singer, songwriter and filmmaker. whose real name is René Pérez Joglar, and the 51-year-old Puerto Rican singer/actor have joined voices to release the new track “Quiero ser baladista.”

ResidenteMore than a song, Residente’s nine-minute, seven-second long single is being called a stream of consciousness on tiradera (diss tracks), music, lyrics, performance art and entertainment value, where the music video –a bona fide short film—is as important as the music.

The black and white flick kicks off with Residente being shot dead in an elevator, as what sounds like a tinkly “elevator music” version of Ricky Martin’s hit “Vuelve” plays in the background. From there, Residente revives, brings down his assailants, and, over sparse chords, delivers one of his signature raps centering on his lyrical prowess and the fact that he’s the best (“I’m the wolf who upsets the henhouse”).

Then, things take a turn. Residente reveals that his tied up captive is actually Sony Music Latin Iberia chairman Afo Verde, auditions as a balladeer, in Ricky Martin’s voice, then shoots Verde.

In turn, Martin shoots Residente and channels the rapper, in a recall of Justin Bieber playing Drake in “Pop Star.”

Bad Bunny Earns Third No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 with “Where She Goes”

There’s only one place Bad Bunny goes… the top of the charts.

The Spanish-language song arrives as his third No. 1 on the chart, after “Un x100to,” with Grupo Frontera, for two weeks earlier in May, and “Dakiti,” with Jhay Cortez (now Jhayco), for three weeks in November-December 2020.

Bad Bunny becomes the first soloist with three Global 200 No. 1s; overall, he’s second only to BTS, with six. Justin Bieber, BLACKPINK, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift each boast two.

“Where She Goes” marks Bad Bunny’s first Global 200 entry with no accompanying artists since he released his LP Un Verano Sin Ti, which dominated the U.S.-based Billboard 200 for 13 weeks in May-October 2022.

Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” dips to No. 2 on the Global 200 after three weeks at No. 1, having become the chart’s first leader for the regional Mexican genre.

Rosalia to Become First Artist Featured on FC Barcelona’s Men’s & Women’s Team Home Kits

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the 30-year-old Spanish singer and songwriter’s Motomami, the Grammy-winning album’s logo will be emblazoned on FC Barcelona’s jerseys for their El Clásico match against Real Madrid.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” Notches 10th Week at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

The 52-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning singer-songwriter’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” tops the Billboard Hot 100 for a 10th week.

Carey crowned the chart for 16 weeks with “One Sweet Day,” with Boyz II Men, in 1995-96, and for 14 weeks with “We Belong Together” in 2005.

Boyz II Men and Drake are the only other acts to have achieved such a triumphant triple.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” was first released on Carey’s album Merry Christmas in 1994 via Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings and, as streaming has grown and holiday music has become more prominent on streaming services’ playlists, it first reached the Hot 100’s top 10 in December 2017 and first hit the top five in the 2018 holiday season, before reigning over the holidays in 2019 (for three weeks), 2020 (two), 2021 (three) and now 2022 (two to-date).

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” drew 41.4 million streams (up 14%) and 33.1 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 11%) and sold 11,000 downloads (up 86%) in the U.S. in the Dec. 9-15 tracking week, according to Luminate.

The song adds a third week at No. 1, up from No. 3, on the Digital Song Sales chart, following frames on top in 2005 and 2019; dips to No. 2 after 17 total weeks atop Streaming Songs; and rises 17-14 on Radio Songs, where it hit a No. 12 high over the 1994 holidays and has returned to the top 15 in each of the last four holiday seasons.

Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” extends the longest span from a song’s first week at No. 1 on the Hot 100 to its latest, to just over three years (December 21, 2019-December 24, 2022).

Plus, the latest week atop the Hot 100 for “All I Want for Christmas Is You” extends Carey’s record for the longest span of an artist ranking at No. 1 on the chart: 32 years and nearly five months, dating to her first week at No. 1 on the list dated Aug. 4, 1990, with her debut single “Vision of Love.”

Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” expands its record for the most time atop the Hot 100 for a holiday song. The only other seasonal single to lead, “The Chipmunk Song,” by David Seville & the Chipmunks, spent four weeks at No. 1. (“‘The Chipmunk Song’ is one of the fastest breaking and fastest selling records of 1958,” Billboard reported when the song first reigned, in the December 22, 1958, issue, adding that it had become the “biggest seller since ‘Hound Dog’,” first made a hit by Big Mama Thornton and then Elvis Presley. “Sales city by city [for “Chipmunk”] have been astounding and it has been blaring out of radios, juke boxes and loudspeaker systems from New York to Los Angeles every day for weeks.”)

With “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Carey adds her record-extending 89th week at No. 1 on the Hot 100, dating to the chart’s August 4, 1958, inception.

It also made Carey the first artist to have ranked at No. 1 on the chart in four distinct decades, dating to her first week at the summit with “Vision of Love.” The song is additionally the only title to have led in four separate runs on the survey.

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar’s Un Verano Sin Ti has logged its 13th nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard 200 chart dated October 15.

Views logged 13 nonconsecutive weeks atop the list in 2016 (May 21-October 8 charts) and Frozen notched 13 nonconsecutive frames in 2014 (January 18-May 17).

The last album with more weeks at No. 1 was Adele’21, with 24 nonconsecutive weeks on top in 2011-12 (March 12, 2011-June 23, 2012).

In the latest tracking week, ending Oct. 6, Un Verano Sin Ti earned 84,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. (down 4%), according to Luminate.

Of Un Verano Sin Ti’s 84,000 equivalent album units earned, SEA units comprise 82,000 (down 3%, equaling 115.96 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks), album sales comprise 1,500 (down 14%) and TEA units comprise 500 (up 3%).

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” has logged a milestone 20th week at No. 1 on BillboardHot Latin Songs chart dated October 8, becoming the 12th song to spend at least 20 weeks atop the tally in its 36-year history.

Bad BunnyThe song’s 20th week at No. 1 benefits from 8 million U.S. audience impressions earned in the week ending Sept. 29 (up 18%), according to Luminate. 

Meanwhile, though it dips 4% in streams to 12 million earned in the week ending September 29, it holds strong at No. 1 on the Latin Streaming Songs chart and moves 4-2 on the overall Streaming Songs chart.

On the sales front, “Me Porto Bonito” falls 14%, to 1,000 downloads sold, in the same tracking period.

As it drops 1-2 on Latin Digital Song Sales, it cedes the No. 1 spot to another one of Bad Bunny’s songs: “MIA,” featuring Drake — which last took over atop the chart for one week in October 2018.

As mentioned, “Me Porto Bonito” joins 11 other tracks that have held strong at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs for at least 20 weeks or more since the chart’s inception in 1986.

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar rules the Billboard Artist 100 chart dated October 8 for an eighth week, remaining the top musical act in the U.S. due in large part to his latest album, Un Verano Sin Ti.

Bad Bunny, El Conejo Malo’s set scores a 12th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with 87,000 equivalent album units earned in the September 23-29 tracking week, according to Luminate.

It’s just the fourth album to spend at least 12 weeks at No. 1 on the chart this century, following Adele’s 21 (24 weeks; 2011-12), Drake’s Views (13; 2016) and the Frozen soundtrack (13; 2014).

Bad Bunny concurrently places five songs on the latest Billboard Hot 100 and 13 on the Hot Latin Songs chart from Un Verano Sin Ti.
