Carlos Vives is back in familiar territory…

Vives’ set debuts with 3,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending November 16, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 1,000 were in traditional album sales.

The set earned a little more than 1,000 in streaming equivalent album units — driven by the single “Robarte Un Beso” with Sebastian Yatra. The cut tallied nearly a million on-demand audio streams for the week. Concurrently, the track rises 17-15 on the Hot Latin Songs chart with Greatest Gainer/Digital honors (posting a 152 percent gain in song downloads, rising to 4,000 sold).

The album’s release on November 10, via Sony Music Latin, preceded his live performance of “Robarte Un Beso” at the November 16th Latin Grammy Awards.

Vives last entered the Top Latin Albums chart in 2015 with the live set Más Corazón Profundo Tour: En Vivo, which topped the list for one week.

The clip, by Venezuelan director Daniel Duran, presents four different types of loves stories, which are connected with one purpose: to serenade the significant other for a kiss.

“It’s a very nice song, it has a lot of what this new generation of musicians like Sebastian has,” Vives said in a press release.

And Yatra added, “‘Robarte Un Beso” is a song that we did inspired by love, regaining, falling in love, it’s never too late to tell that person we have next to us how much we love them.”

The song is Vives’ first single from his forthcoming album, Vives, to be released this fall.

The video follows Vives’ journey through the bustling streets of a bitter cold New York, while he searches for the woman of his dreams, who has suddenly stopped answering his calls and disappeared.

“In this occasion I mention New York, and there’s a reason behind it,” Vives said about the song. “I have a special connection with that city and with a community that opened their doors and have loved us very much throughout the years… listen, New York, because I am singing to you.”

The pop/vallenato single follows his chart-topping hit “La bicicleta,” featuring fellow Colombian singer/songwriter Shakira.

“Al filo de tu amor” is the second single of Vives’ forthcoming studio album, titled Vives.
