Ana de Armas and her Knives Out costars are the Board’s choice…

The National Board of Review has announced the winners of its 2019 film awards, with the 31-year-old Cuban-Spanish actress and her murder mystery cast mates winning the Best Ensemble prize.

Described as a modern take on the whodunit, the film follows a family gathering gone awry, after the family patriarch’s death leads a master detective to investigate. In addition to de Armas, the film also stars her Bond co-star Daniel CraigChris EvansJamie Lee CurtisMichael ShannonDon JohnsonToni ColletteLakeith StanfieldKatherine LangfordJaeden Martell and Christopher Plummer.

This year 285 films were viewed by a select group of film enthusiasts, filmmakers, professionals, academics, and students, many of which were followed by in-depth discussions with directors, actors, producers, and screenwriters. Voting ballots were tabulated by the accounting firm of Lutz & Carr, LLP

This year’s gala, hosted by Willie Geist, will take place on Wednesday, January 8 at Cipriani 42nd Street.
