She’s one of the most beloved singers in South America… And, now Paula Fernandes could see her popularity rise swiftly in the United States after collaborating with America’s county/pop superstar.
The 27-year-old Brazilian sertanejo and country singer appears in a music video to promote a re-recorded version of Taylor Swift’s single “Long Live.”
The clip features Swift singing the song in front of live audience at a concert with Fernandes’ bilingual vocals (English/Portuguese), recorded in the studio, added to the mix.
The collaboration should come as no surprise, since both singers have praised each other openly in the past.
“I’m a fan of Taylor for a long time, her work is amazing,” said Fernandes recently.
Swift returned the compliment by gushing, “I was happy to share with Paula Long live.” She even gave her stamp of approval to the rework Fernandes—who was a Latin Grammys Best New Artist nominee last year—did to her song, “I loved your version.”
“Long Live” appears on Swift’s latest studio album “Speak Now“.
