J Balvin Breaks Vevo & Spotify Records with New Single “Bobo”

J Balvin is breaking records…

The 31-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer’s latest single “Bobo,” which vaults 42-2 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, has broken the record for most worldwide views for a Spanish-language video on Vevo in 24 hours.

The platform has certified that “Bobo” amassed 4.9 million views in the day following its debut. Vevo also declared that it scored the record for most first week streams (for a Spanish song), with 23.8 million views.

As of May 25, the YouTube clip has 39 million global views.

Meanwhile, Spotify also announced that Balvin had broken a record claiming that “Bobo” is the most streamed Spanish song in its first 48 hours, and stating that in 10 days it had crossed 5 million streams. Stateside, “Bobo” collected 362,000 plays on Spotify in its first week.

The track, which initially debuted from a partial week of airplay on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, after its May 13 release, logged 1.7 million domestic streams in its first full tracking (week ending May 19) — with the song’s music video claiming 64 percent of overall plays.
