Jennifer Lopez Notches Her Eighth No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “El Anillo”

Jennifer Lopez is ringing in the weekend with a new honor

The 48-year-old Puertp Rican superstar has notched her eighth No. 1 single on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart — and her third of the year — as “El Anillo” bolts 12-1 on the July 14-dated list.

The song reached the summit thanks to an 88 percent increase in audience impressions (to 16 million) in the week ending July 8, according to Nielsen Music. The gain was likely prompted by its new Ozuna remix, which hit radio on July 2, benefiting from six days of airplay.

Lopez topped the chart earlier in the year with the tracks “Amor, Amor, Amor” featuring Wisin, and as part of the triple-billed title “Se Acabó el Amor” with Abraham Mateo and Yandel, both ruling for one week only.

Among women, Lopez continues to have the third-most No. 1s on the tally, trailing only Shakira (who has 13) and Gloria Estefan (with 11).

In addition to the Latin Airplay coronation, “El Anillo” also lands at No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay tally, vaulting 9-1 in its tenth frame and besting its No. 9 peak where the song held for four non-consecutive weeks.

The new lift grants Lopez her fourth leader, extending her record as the female with most No. 1s, now with four.
