Lin-Manuel Miranda is celebrating a historic milestone…

The Latino Victory Fund plans on celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed and protected women’s constitutional right to vote after being ratified on August 18, 1920, with the 40-year-old Puerto Rican Hamilton creator/star and some of his Tony Award-winning musical’s cast members.

Miranda will participate in a conversation with Phillipa Soo, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Jasmine Cephas Jones, who portrayed the revolutionary Schuyler sisters, about their on-screen and off-screen experiences of women of color during the virtual fundraiser.

Renowned journalist Soledad O’Brien will moderate the conversation.

“Latino Victory is proud to host this vital conversation with award-winning composer, lyricist and actor, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the original Schuyler Sisters to commemorate the centennial of women’s suffrage,” said Nathalie Rayes, Latino Victory Fund CEO and president. “Donors can look forward to hearing these luminaries share with Soledad O’Brien the role of women in Hamilton, experiences in the rehearsal process, their perspectives on performing in the show as women of color; acknowledging that women of color could not vote until 1965 when Voting Rights Amendment was passed and what that means for how far we have come, and how far we have to go.”

The event will take place over Zoom on Tuesday, August 25 at 8:30 pm ET for donors who pledge at least $10 to the Latino Victory Fund, which works to grow Latino political power at every level of government.
