It’s Lovato’s first chart-topper on the dance charts and her second Billboard No. 1 overall. She previously scored a No. 1 on the Pop Songs chart with “Give Your Heart a Break.”

Lovato, a two-time People’s Choice Award winner earlier this month, wrote “Neon Lights” – the third single from her fourth album Demi – with Mario Marchetti, Tiffany Vartanyan, Noel Zancanella and One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, who produced the song.

The track, which features elements of electropop and dance-pop and prominent EDM influences has been described by one critic as a “rave-tastic synth anthem.”
