“American Idol” champion Scotty McCreery, a die-hard baseball fan, is guaranteed a trip to this year’s World Series, no matter which teams end up in the big game.
McCreery has been scheduled to perform the national anthem before Game One of the World Series, which will take place on October 19.
The part-Puerto Rican country crooner love of the game was highlighted during his Season 10 of “American Idol.”
McCreery says it’s an “incredible” opportunity, it’s like putting his “two greatest loves together.”
The 17-year-old North Carolina-native can’t wait to find out which teams will play in the World Series.
Meanwhile, McCreery is heavily promoting his debut album, “Clear as Day,” which was released on Tuesday. Based on one-day sales figures, the album is predicted come in at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 album sales chart with sales ranging between 150-175k.
