Catalina Sandino Moreno to Guest Star on HBO’s Anthology Series “Room 104”

The 38-year-old Colombian actress, who earned an Academy Award nomination her breakthrough starring role in Maria Full of Grace, will appear in the 12-episode third season of HBO’s late-night, comedy anthology series Room 104.

Room 104 tells unique and unexpected tales of the characters who pass through a single room of a typical American chain motel. While the room stays the same, every episode of the series features a different story, with the tone, plot, characters, and even the time period, changing with each installment.

Tapping into a variety of genres, from dark comedy to poignant drama to musical romance, the stories and characters featured in season 3 include: a man searching for a cure to his chronic skin condition; the caretaker of an exotic animal looking to make a sale; estranged siblings reuniting to make an investment; and more.

Stephanie Beatriz Joins Voice Cast of Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part”

The 37-year-oldArgentine actress and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star has joined the voice cast of Warner Bros.’ The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part alongside Broad City‘s Arturo Castro.

Beatriz will portray new character Sweet Mayhem; Castro will play new character Ice Cream Cone.

Also confirmed to return is Alison Brie as Unikitty and Nick Offerman as Metal Beard.

They join previously announced cast members from the first movie Chris Pratt (Emmet), Elizabeth Banks (Lucy), Will Arnett (Lego Batman) as well as Tiffany Haddish who plays a new character Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi.

Mike Mitchell, of Shrek Forever AfterTrolls, and Sky High directs.

Lego Movie 2 is being produced by the same team behind the Lego film franchise since the first feature title debuted in 2014. That film racked up $469M at the global box office.

The Lego Movie 2 reunites the heroes of Bricksburg and takes place five years after the first movie. They face a new threat: Lego Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the Lego universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored and musical worlds.

Lego Movie 2 opens nationwide in 2D and 3D on February 8., 2019.

Comedy Central Greenlights Castro’s Sketch Show “Alternatino” for Pilot Development

Comedy Central has announced its 2017-2018 development slate, with the Guatemalan actor’s half-hour sketch show Alternatino making the grade.

Based on the Comedy Central digital series, the pilot will be hosted and performed by Castro as he attempts to navigate life as a modern Latino millennial.

Castro will serve as an executive producer on the project.

He’s best known for his role on Comedy Central’s series Broad City, as well as a role in the Ang Lee-directed film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

Castro to Star in Netflix’s Original Film “Deidra & Laney Rob a Train”

The Guatemalan actor has been cast in Netflix’s upcoming original film Deidra & Laney Rob a Train.

The film, which stars Ashleigh Murray and Rachel Crow in the title roles, centers on two teenage girls who turn to train-robbing after their moms are sent to prison. Despite the Jesse James-era occupation, the film is set in the present day, with Netflix drawing comparisons to Raising Arizona.

Written by Shelby Farrell and directed by Sydney Freeland, the film also stars David Sullivan, Tim Blake Nelson, Danielle Nicolet and Sasheer Zamata.

Castro’s credits include Broad City, The Good Wife and Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.

Deidra & Laney Rob a Train will be available globally in 2017.

Cruz Cordova to Star in “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk”

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican actor has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of Ben Fountain’s novel Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

The film follows a unit of decorated Iraq War soldiers who, at the height of the war, survive a bloody battle and come out of it hailed as heroes. Brought back stateside to participate in patriotic events to boost support for the war, they become disillusioned with the military and noncombatant civilians when they learn that despite their service, they’re going to be sent back for another tour.

Directed by Ang Lee from a script by Simon Beaufoy and Jean-Christophe Castelli, the film is being shot using state-of-the-art Sony cameras in native 3D, promising high resolution and an unprecedented frame rate.

Cordova, who gained national attention playing Mando on Sesame Street, joins a cast that includes Arturo Castro, Barney Harris, Beau Knapp, Mason Lee and Brian “Astro” Bradley. In addition, Makenzie Leigh will play Faison, a Texas cheerleader and love interest to main character Billy Flynn. They join actor Joe Alwyn, already cast in the title role.

Castro to Star in Ang Lee’s “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk”

The 29-year-old Guatemalan actor has joined the cast of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, Ang Lee’s feature adaptation of the Ben Fountain novel.

The film follows a group of servicemen sent on a “victory tour” after returning from combat in Iraq. Billy Lynn and his comrades will return to battle after the tour ends with a halftime show of a Dallas Cowboys football game on Thanksgiving Day.

Castro will play Marcellino “Mango” Montoya, a steady and skeptical member of Lynn’s Bravo Company who has become a pretty good amateur politician, speaking to Latino groups in Spanish in praise of military esprit de corps.

Castro portrays Jaime on Comedy Central’s Broad City. Other recent credits include appearances on television’s The Good Wife and the features Sun Belt Express and Indigo Children.

He next appears in Mi America, Kid Witness and Memoir.
