Bad Bunny Earns 16th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “Volvi,” Featuring Aventura

Bad Bunny’s winning streak continues on radio…

The 27-year-old Puerto Rican rapper, singer and songwriter has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart dated October 23 with the single, “Volvi,” with Aventura.

The 4-1 jump of the single is powered by an 8% increase in audience impressions, to 10.1 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending October 17, according to MRC Data.

The Latin Airplay win arrives after “Volvi’s” one-week coronation on the all-metric (airplay, sales and streaming) Hot Latin Songs chart on the August 21-dated tally — Aventura’s first win since “Dile Al Amor’s” nine-week rule in 2010. For Bad Bunny, the tune’s lead followed the five-week reign of “Yonaguni” just two months prior (starting on the June 19-dated list).

Back on Latin Airplay, the new leader gives Aventura its fourth No. 1. The Dominican group first led with “Por Un Segundo” in 2009. In between, it earned two other champs: nine-week ruler “Dile Al Amor” (2010) and “Inmortal” (one week, June 2019).

Bad Bunny, meanwhile, scores his 16th Latin Airplay No. 1, dating back to his first as a featured act on Becky G’s “Mayores” in 2018. His longest-winning track arrived later in the year as “Mia,” featuring Drake, topped the ranking for six weeks starting on the Dec. 29, 2018-dated list.

Beyond Latin Airplay, “Volví” pushes back to the top 10 on Latin Digital Song Sales (14-9) after its debut at the summit in August. It concurrently reaches a new peak of No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay; it’s the first time Aventura has topped the chart since “Dile al Amor” in 2010.

Aventura’s “Volví,” Featuring Bad Bunny, Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart

Aventura has officially returned to the top of the charts…

The Dominican-American bachata group leads Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart as its new single “Volví,” with Bad Bunny, rises 2-1 in its second week (August 21-dated survey). It’s Aventura’s third No. 1, and first since 2010’s “Dile Al Amor.”

The bachata-rhythmic tune takes the lead of the airplay-, streaming-, and digital-blended list boosted by gains in both streams and airplay. “Volví” generated 14.6 million U.S. streams (up 25%) in the week ending August 12, according to MRC Data, enough to enter the all-genre Streaming Songs chart’s top 10 (a 16-10 leap that takes the Greatest Gainer honors). Concurrently, the song holds at No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs for a second week.

“Volví,” a midnight release on August 3, was teased by both Bad Bunny and Aventura’s Romeo Santos on their Instagram accounts just hours before. The pair has since performed the song live for the first time on Saturday night (August 14) at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami; the group’s first sold out date of its Inmortal stadium tour.

“Volví” grants Aventura its first No. 1 on the all-metric tally since the nine-week leader “Dile Al Amor” in 2010. Previously, the Dominicans led with “Por Un Segundo” (two weeks atop in 2009). Bad Bunny, meanwhile, captures his ninth No. 1, a lead following his first 2021 win: “Yonaguni,” which remained atop Hot Latin Songs for five weeks starting the June 19-dated tally.

“Volví” also reigns thanks to a lift on radio airplay: it pushes 50-31 on Latin Airplay with 3.5 million audience impressions (up 33%).

Prepare for a special Aventura reunion…

The bachata group, helmed by Romeo SantosHenry Santos, Lenny Santos and Max Santos, has announced an upcoming one-night-only concert as part of their “Inmortal” reunion tour that was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Aventura

Aventura canceled their 2020 reunion tour on March 12 at the former AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami when Mayor Carlos Gimenez declared a state of emergency, canceling large events to stop the spread of the virus. They also canceled the remaining North American tour, which was set to wrap in August.

Now, the tour will officially conclude August 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for a one-time show produced by Live Nation.

Named after the group’s first single in nearly 10 years, the “Inmortal” tour grossed $25.8 million and sold 189,000 tickets, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. That’s 15 shows between February 5 and March 10, 2020.

Although the group has reunited multiple times since disbanding in 2011, this is the “last and final” Aventura concert together, according to Santos on Instagram.

Nicky Jam Teams Up with Romeo Santos for Hypnotic Reggaeton Track “Fan de Tus Fotos

It’s a special Aventura for Nicky Jam

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican & Dominican American Latin trap and reggaeton singer/songwriter has joined voices with former-Aventura-member-turned-bachata-superstar Romeo Santos for “Fan de Tus Fotos,” a hypnotic reggaeton track that finds both men daydreaming over their boss, who they think has been sending them mixed messages.

But as it turns out, they’ve been imagining things, and their distractedness gets them in some serious trouble at the office. “I’m like a fan just looking at your photos. I’m going crazy thinking I can touch you,” the pair sing.

It’s not the first time Nicky Jam and Santos have teamed up.

Back in 2017, they released the Daddy Yankee-assisted “Bella Y Sensual,” which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated January 2, 2018).

Earlier this year, Nicky Jam made his debut as talk show host in his new interview-style project titled The Rockstar Show, streamed on YouTube. His first episode featured Colombian superstar Maluma and other guests have included El Alfa and Karol G.

During his interview with Karol G, he announced a new album dropping this year. “I’m really happy, I think this will be my best album,” he shared.

Khea Releases “Ayer Me Llamo Mi Ex” Remix, Featuring Natti Natasha & Prince Royce

Khea has called in some big guns for a big remix…

The 20-year-old Argentine trap singer, whose real name is Ivo Alfredo Thomas Serue, continues to flaunt his versatility and global appeal with the release of the remix to his trap-bachata fusion track “Ayer Me Llamo Mi Ex,” featuring Natti Natasha and Prince Royce onboard the remix.

The original track, released less than two months ago, featured Lenny Santos, Aventura’s guitarist.

Marrying his signature trap with modern bachata melodies, the remix not only counts with three emblematic artists from the Dominican Republic, but also takes things to the next level.

Khea experiments with Caribbean rhythms, Natti and Royce show off their rapping skills, it’s the best of both worlds.

“Ayer Me Llamó Mi Ex,” produced by up-and-coming artist-producer Nobeat and released via Young Flex / Interscope Records, tells the story of someone who’s on the phone with their ex and reminding them of everything they lost and how they’re living their best single life.

Santos’ “Propuesta Indecente” Makes Billboard Chart History

Romeo Santos has an indecent claim to fame…

The 33-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American Bachata singer has made history, yet again, as his single “Propuesta Indecente” spends a 100th consecutive week on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated July 4).

Romeo Santos

It’s the first track to ever reach the triple-digit milestone on the chart and extends its lead for the most charted weeks by 38 weeks.

The second-longest-running song on the survey is Prince Royce‘s “Incondicional” at 62 weeks in 2012-13.

“Propuesta Indecente” holds at No. 2 on Hot Latin Songs chart. Since debuting at No. 44 on Aug. 10, 2013, it’s spent 99 of its 100 weeks in the top 10 (having bounded to No. 3 in its second frame) and, even more impressively, 98 weeks in the top five.

The song has been a top five mainstay, in fact, dating back to the May 17, 2014 chart. It spent a total of four weeks at No. 1 beginning Sept. 28, 2013.

Santos, meanwhile, has been a chart force since his solo arrival in 2011 after he became dubbed the “King of Bachata” fronting Aventura. He’s scored seven Hot Latin Songs No. 1s on his own after tallying two with Aventura.

Consistent airplay, digital sales, and streaming have prevented “Propuesta Indecente” from falling out of the top five after 52 weeks, allowing it to remain on the chart, per recurrent rules (which dictate when songs are removed from the chart). Streaming is the main driver for the song’s extended chart life: of points contributing to its current rank, 89 percent are from streaming outlets.

During the latest tracking week (ending June 21), the song logged 1.7 million clicks across platforms, according to Nielsen Music, with YouTube and Vevo on YouTube accounting for 81 percent of domestic plays.

Online, “Propuesta Indecente” is Santos’ biggest hit, with its official video having amassed more than 715 million global views on Vevo on YouTube (since being released in September 2013), making it the most popular clip on his account by nearly 500 million plays.

Santos to Participate in Exclusive Q&A at This Year’s Billboard Latin Music Conference

Romeo Santos is ready to open up about his career successes…

The 33-year-old Puerto Rican/Dominican American singer-songwriter, who ended 2014 as Billboard‘s Latin Artist of the Year thanks to sustained sales, airplay and a strong social presence, will take part in an exclusive question-and-answer session at the 26th annual Billboard Latin Music Conference taking place April 27-29 at the Ritz-Carlton Miami Beach.

Romeo Santos

Santos will sit with Billboard’s Leila Cobo on a session April 28 to discuss the success of his album Formula, Vol. 2, his appearance in the films Furious 7 and Angry Birds, his social strategy, his two sold-out Yankee Stadium shows, his appeal as a bilingual Latino and his upcoming tour, among other subjects.

Santos has redefined the term crossover with his groundbreaking collaborations with the likes of Nicki Minaj and Drake, while performing his contemporary take on bachata, the traditional music of the Dominican Republic.

With more No. 1 chart hits than any other Latin music artist this decade, according to Billboard, Santos closed out 2014 with his 10th No. 1 single as a soloist; this in addition to previous hits as the lead singer of Aventura.

“This has been the year of Romeo Santos,” said Cobo. “He’s an extraordinary songwriter, performer and artist who has carved out his place as one of the most distinctive acts of his generation.”

Henry Santos is livin’ La Vida at the top of his game…

The 34-year-old Dominican singer-composer and former Aventura band member’s latest single “La Vida,” featuring MaFFio, jumps 4-1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart to secure his second No. 1 on the list as a lead artist.

Henry Santos

In addition, Santos’ urban infused merengue track grows 21 percent at the format (to 609 plays), taking Greatest Gainer honors.

Santos – the record holder for successfully completing and winning, undefeated and never nominated for elimination, on Mira Quien Baila, a dancing competition on Univision – previously reached the summit on the Tropical Airplay chart for a single frame with “My Way” in May 2013.

Santos’ cousin, and former Aventura band-mate Romeo Santos, has topped Tropical Airplay on seven occasions, while the band itself enjoyed eight trips to the peak during its time together.
