Marc Anthony and Carlos Vives are joining forces…

After joining voices on their hit single “Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar,” the 46-year-old Puerto Rican salsa singer and the 53-year-old Colombian singer have announced plans to tour together in an outing they’ve dubbed UNIDO2, a play on words meaning “United” part 2.

Marc Anthony & Carlos Vives

The tour will be presented by Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), which has long produced and booked Marc Anthony’s performances worldwide.

Anthony and Vives, two of Latin music’s biggest stars, will perform in 11 U.S. markets. The tour will also include additional solo performances by Marc Anthony in seven other markets.

UNIDO2 kicks off with two shows at Puerto Rico’s Coliseum on Sept. 11 and 12, followed by dates in Las Vegas, Canada and Chicago, among other cities.

The pair will play two nights at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater and two nights at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.

Anthony and Vives have both been touring as solo acts in the past year.

Anthony even came in as the highest-grossing Latin touring act of 2014, according to Boxscore, bringing in $26.8 million  ticket sales for 32 reported shows in North America. A total of 20 of those came from U.S. venues and 12 from Mexico.

Tickets for the tour go on sale April 10 at 1:00 pm ET, with the exception of the Barclays Center concert in New York, which goes on sale April 17. Puerto Rico sale dates will be announced separately.

Dulorme Beats Hank Lundy in Hard-Fought Junior Welterweight Fight

Make that six in a row for Thomas Dulorme

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican won a 10-round split decision against “Hammerin'” Hank Lundy in a hard-fought junior welterweight fight on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Thomas Dulorme

Dulorme, who scored a first-round knockdown, got off to a hot start to open a big early lead on two scorecards before Lundy finally got going and had a strong second half in the highly entertaining bout.

In the end, two judges favored Dulorme’s better boxing over Lundy’s aggressiveness, scoring it 97-92 and 96-93. The third judge had it 96-93 for Lundy. ESPN.com had it for Dulorme, 96-93.

“He surprised me a little with his game plan and it was a tough fight, but I took my time and am very happy with my victory,” said Dulorme. “I will go back to the gym and keep working hard but I think I deserve a world title shot.”

The opening round appeared to be fairly even until Dulorme caught Lundy with a right hand near the temple to knock him down with about 15 seconds left. But Lundy popped up and seemed OK.

Dulorme, with a reach advantage, kept Lundy on the outside and looked very sharp in the early going. He popped his jab and let his hands go when Lundy got on the inside.

Lundy landed some good shots in the third round, including a left uppercut and a right hand, but Dulorme, who is trained by Robert Garcia, took the punches well.

Lundy had more success in the sixth round, rocking Dulorme with a left hook and forcing him to hold on and clearly making him uncomfortable. That was how it went for much of the second half of the bout.

“It’s a huge win because the Lundy I was afraid would show up showed up,” said Gary Shaw, Dulorme’s promoter. “And then he started to figure Dulorme out and went to the inside. So Dulorme did what he had to do. I think Lundy followed him around instead of cutting off the ring, which played into Dulorme’s jab and movement.”

Dulorme

Shaw said he thought it was a fight from which Dulorme (22-1, 14 KOs), who won his sixth fight in a row, will learn and grow as a fighter and he hopes to line up a world title opportunity for him.

“We will fight anyone at 140 pounds,” Shaw said. “Hopefully, the major fighters at 140 were watching and it can get a negotiation started. Dulorme is ready to fight for a world title.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers to Join Mars at Super Bowl Halftime Show

Bruno Mars is preparing for a red hot Super Bowl

The 28-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer and his backing band will be joined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers during the Super Bowl halftime show next month.

Bruno Mars

It’s all part the funk tendencies that Mars  sometimes employs in his music.

The iconic rock band will join the pop singer by his invitation for the show, held at the halfway point of the NFL‘s biggest spectacle on February 2 in New Jersey, according to Los Angeles Times sources.

The Chili Peppers were already scheduled to be in the area, booked to perform at a pre-Super Bowl show in Brooklyn for WFAN‘s “Say Hello to Brooklyn” showcase at the Barclays Center on February 1.

What remains to be seen is whether the band will replace Mars’ usual backing band for the entire set or if it will simply make a brief appearance, perhaps performing one of its own songs.

The move should expand the halftime show’s allure to a broader range of fans outside of Mars’ usual demographic.

Mars has placed four singles from his Billboard 200 No. 1 album Unorthodox Jukebox in the Hot 100’s top 40, with four total No. 1 songs.

Meanwhile, Red Hot Chili Peppers last released an album in 2011, with I’m With You peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
