Redband Trailer Released for Plaza’s “The To Do List”

Prepare to see a different side of Aubrey Plaza in CBS FilmsThe To Do List.

The redband trailer has arrived for the 28-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress and Parks and Recreation star’s latest film, complete with raunchy jokes and sight gags.

Aubrey Plaza in The To-Do List

In the film, Plaza’s character Brandy was her class valedictorian but managed to finish high school with her virginity intact. One raucous graduation party later, she decides to remedy the situation before starting college in the fall.

Watch for Brandy stumbling over her unfamiliarity with certain terms of, er, endearment.

Director Maggie Carey’s 1993-set comedy boasts the tagline, “From straight A’s to her first F.”

The film, which co-stars Bill Hader, Alia Shawkar and Johnny Simmons, opens July 26.

Plaza’s “The To-Do List” Opening Three Weeks Earlier

Aubrey Plaza’s latest film is coming out sooner than originally planned…

CBS Films has upped the domestic release date for the 28-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress’ next movie The To-Do List some three weeks earlier.

Aubrey Plaza in The To-Do List

Plaza’s comedy, which centers on an awkward overachiever who tries to make up for her sexual underachieving in high school before she heads to college, has been moved up from August 16 to July 26.

Instead of facing off against Universal’s action-comedy sequel Kick-Ass 2, it will now serve as counterprogramming to Fox’s highly anticipated film The Wolverine.

Along with Plaza, writer-director Maggie Carey’s film also stars Johnny Simmons, Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat, Rachel Bilson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Andy Samberg and Connie Britton.

NBC Releases First SNL Promos Featuring Louis C.K.

The show must go on for Louis C.K.

Despite Hurricane Sandy’s destructive assault on the Northeast, NBC’s Saturday Night Live will still broadcast live from New York City with the 45-year-old half Mexican American actor/comedian serving as host for the first time ever.

Louis C.K.

And NBC has begun airing the first promos with the Emmy-winning star of FX’s Louie and SNL cast member Bill Hader.

Three of the promos are Halloween-themed, while the final hurricane-themed clip features the two comedians dealing with harsh weather conditions.

The Louis C.K.-hosted edition of SNL will be broadcast this Saturday, November 3 at 11:30 pm on NBC.

Plaza’s “The To Do List” Opening Next Valentine’s Day

So what’s next on Aubrey Plaza to-do list? Opening her next motion picture next February.

The 27-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress/comedian—who recently picked up a Young Hollywood Award for her breakthrough performance in Safety Not Guaranteed—will be starring as a high school student working her way through the pains of social and sexual awkwardness in The To Do List.

The To Do List

In this first look at the 1990s-set comedy, it’s clear that both the film’s fashions and intended discomfort deliver a whole world of nostalgic pain.

The film, written and directed by Funny or Die‘s Maggie Carey, featured Plaza in rounded glasses and skorts as she sets off to figure out the world of sex, which to her dismay mostly consists of things that end with “job.”

Along with the Parks and Recreation star, the film stars several comedy stars, including Donald Glover, Andy Samberg and Bill Hader.

The To Do List will hit theaters on Valentine’s Day 2013.

Bratt Back for “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” Sequel

It looks like Benjamin Bratt will be heading back to the world of broadcasting…

The 48-year-old half-Peruvian American actor will be returning to lend his voice to the character of Manny the cameraman in the sequel to the animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Benjamin Bratt

Along with Bratt, Sony Pictures Animation has reunited most of the original voicecast for the sequel, titled Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers.

Bill Hader and Anna Faris return as the two leads, inventor Flint Lockwood and weather girl Sam Sparks. Also back are James Caan as Flint’s dad, Andy Samberg as a local celebrity and Neil Patrick Harris.

New to the voicecast is The Expendables 2 star Terry Crews, who will play a cop in the town of Swallow Falls. Will Forte, who had a role in the first movie, is back in a new role, that of Chester V, an inventor and idol of Lockwood’s who invites him to join others bright minds at a technology company.

According to the studio, Cloudy 2 picks up where the first movie left off, with Lockwood discovering that his evil machine, which turns water into food, “is still operating and now creating mutant food beasts. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Flint and his friends must embark on a dangerously delicious mission, battling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, apple pie-thons, double bacon cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world… again!”

Cloudy 2 is set for release in 3D on February 7, 2014.
