Released on June 4, 2010, Bionic served as Aguilera’s sixth full-length studio set, and marked a pivot into the realm of brash, sex-positive electro-pop for the singer following the big band-inspired throwback sound of 2006’s critically-acclaimed Back to Basics

The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and was preceded by the lead single “Not Myself Tonight” and the raunchy Nicki Minaj-assisted “Woohoo.”

Bionicis also notable for being the first mainstream pop album featuring songwriting credits from a then-little-known Sia, who penned third single “You Lost Me,” album cuts “All I Need,” “I Am” and bonus track “Stronger Than Ever,” and went on to work with Aguilera again on the Burlesque soundtrack later that year.

Aguilera previously dropped a surprise for the album’s anniversary earlier this month, making bonus track Little Dreamer— previously available only on the iTunes deluxe edition — available for the first time on streaming platforms.)

Although the album was met with mixed reviews and underwhelming sales back in 2010, Bionichas since gained a legacy among Aguilera’s fan base as being ahead of its time, and occupies the coveted place within her discography as an underrated fan favorite release worthy of regular calls of #JusticeForBionic across social media.

Christina Aguilera Marks 10th Anniversary of “Bionic” with “Little Dreamer” Streaming Release

Christina Aguilera’s celebrating an anniversary with a dream treat…

It’s been 10 years since the 39-year-old half-Ecuadorian American singer released her sixth studio album Bionic, and to mark the occasion, Aguilera’s made bonus track “Little Dreamer” available on streaming platforms for the first time.

On the mid-tempo electro-pop ballad, which was previously available only as a bonus track on iTunes,  the pop star bids farewell to her titular dreamer over a skittering beat filled with beeps, glitches and trills.

“So long, my little dreamer, I will miss your face/ We’ll always stay connected through time and space/ The journey that we shared, but now have to leave/ Will live inside of us for eternity,” she declares on the track’s churning chorus.

Released on June 4, 2010, Bionic occupies a unique space within Aguilera’s oeuvre. Featuring brashly sexual lead single “Not Myself Tonight” as well as the raunchy Nicki Minaj-assisted banger “Woohoo” and the soaring, oft-overlooked ballad “You Lost Me,” the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 — Aguilera’s lowest entry on the chart in her career at the time.

Bionic was met with mixed reviews and underwhelming sales, particularly compared to the smash successes of 2006’s Back to Basics, 2002’s Stripped and Aguilera’s 1999 self-titled debut. But, while it was quickly overshadowed by the singer’s starring turn alongside Cher in Burlesque just five short months later, Bionichas become known as something of a cult favorite LP among her most passionate fan base in the decade since its release, complete with regular calls of #JusticeForBionic on social media.

Aguilera Releases Risqué Artwork for New Album

On her last album Bionic, Christina Aguilera encouraged listeners to “Desnudate”… But on her latest studio effort, she’s the one getting naked.

The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian songstress has released the oh-so-revealing cover artwork for her forthcoming album Lotus.

Aguilera wears nothing to cover her skin but her long, flowing blond hair to cover her breasts, while a white light effect conceals her lower body part. She stands at the center of a lotus flower as if she’s blossoming from it.

When discussing album, she explained the meaning behind the title, “Album title: Lotus. Representing an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives.”

“If you love ‘Fighter‘, you’re going to love my new album,” she gushed about the new record in an interview with Lucky magazine. “As a 31-year-old woman, I’ve been uncovering my independence, and it’s been really fun to explore in the new songs.”

On another occasion, she told Ryan Seacrest, “This album is about self-expression and freedom. There is a lot I have gone through personally over the past few years, and this record represents a rebirth for me. The record is about freedom and getting back to the root of who I am and what I love to do.”

Aguilera’s seventh studio album will be released on November 13, with “Your Body” as its lead single.

Aguilera to Release a New Single By Summer’s End

Finally! New music from Christina Aguilera could be making its way onto the radio before the end of the summer…

It’s been two years since the 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian American singer’s last studio album, but Aguilera is reportedly working hard on the follow-up to 2010’s Bionic.

And Billboard reports that a new single from The Voice judge is expected to be released in early August. The club thumper was produced by Swedish pop hit-maker Max Martin, and its chorus is built around the line, “All I want to do is what you wanted.”

It’s hard to believe Martin—best known for producing hits by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry—hasn’t yet penned a single for Aguilera.

Additionally, Aguilera is apparently working on duets with her fellow The Voice coaches Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green for the Grammy winner’s forthcoming album.

Aguilera Sings Spanish Song “La Casa” for Will Ferrel’s New Film…

It appears Christina Aguilera is embracing her Latin roots once again…

The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian singer appears on the soundtrack for Will Ferrell’s telenovela-inspired film, Casa de Mi Padre.

Aguilera’s flamenco-inspired track, which opens the comedy film, features Spanish guitars, brass trumpets and synthesizer-free vocals.

Casa marks The Voice mentor’s first true return to Spanish-language singing since her contribution to the Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights soundtrack, “El Beso Del Final,” in 2004. In addition, her most recent album, Bionic, featured the bilingual track “Desnudate.”

But nearly 12 years ago, Aguilera took the biggest stab at celebrating her Latin roots… She released a full-length Spanish album in 2000 entitled Mi Reflejo. Containing Spanish versions of songs from her English debut and new Spanish tracks, the album went on to win the Latin Grammy for best female pop vocal album and went No.1 on the Billboard Latin charts for a record 20 weeks.

Entitled “La Casa,” Aguilera’s new track was released digitally this week.

Meanwhile Casa de Mi Padre opens nationwide on March 17.
