Rubio to Serve as a Mentor on La voz… México

She’s known as La Chica Dorada… But does Paulina Rubio have the golden touch when it comes to picking top talent?

Following weeks of speculation, Televisa has confirmed that the 41-year-old Mexican singer will serve as a mentor on the television competition La voz… México this coming season.

Rubio will join the brand new team of mentors, which includes Miguel Bose, Jenni Rivera and Beto Cuevas, on the second season of the Mexican version of NBC’s music competition show The Voice.

Rubio and new team replace the mentors—Lucero, Espinoza Paz, Lucero, Alejandro Sanz and Alex Sintec—from La voz… México’s first season, which broke audience records.

Rubio and the mentors will advise and train a group of singers to help them improve and become better artists.

Rubio, whose musical career spans three decades, is currently promoting her most recent album Brava, which features the single “Me gustas tanto.

The second season of La voz… México will begin airing in September on Televisa.

Rubio Releases New English Track “Boys Will Be Boys”

She scored a massive hit with “Don’t Say Goodbye” a decade ago… And, now Paulina Rubio is back with another potential English-language smash.

The 40-year-old Mexican singer—who released her latest album Brava! last fall—released the English single “Boys Will Be Boys” to iTunes this week. And, she’s performing the song live during tonight’s Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami.

Produced by RedOne, the electronic-style dance song was released in Europe on March 24 and has already reached the Top 5 on iTunes in Spain.

Following Rubio’s performance on the Billboard Latin Music Awards, the London-filmed video for the song will be released tomorrow on Vevo.com. Here’s a sneak peak:

“Boys Will Be Boys” could be the leading single of either a new English album or the deluxe edition of Brava!, which contains includes the English tracks “All Around The World” and “Heat of the Night.”

Rubio’s Getting “Jazzed” in 2012…

Paulina Rubio will be getting jazzed in New Orleans next April.

The 40-year-old Mexican singer will perform at the 2012 New Orleans Jazz Fest, a popular event that features live performances from artists from several musical genres.

Started in 1970, the festival takes place on two consecutive weekends next year–April 27-29 and May 3-6. Rubio—who recently released her tenth studio album, Brava!—will perform on the second weekend, along with big names acts like the Eagles, Bonnie Raitt and Florence + the Machine.

Adding Rubio, who has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, to the lineup is part of an effort by event organizers to entice a bigger Latino audience.

Along with Pau Pau, next year’s schedule will include performances by several popular Latino acts, including Rodrigo y Gabriela and The Texas Tornadoes featuring Flaco Jimenez.

Pau Pau Reveals Details on Her New Album…

International superstar Paulina Rubio is revealing the latest details about her tenth studio album…

The 40-year-old Mexican singer and actress announced the title of the new album, “Brava!” via Twitter just moments before sharing the name with the press, as well as giving fans a look at the artwork for the album.

“Ready to start some interviews but I wanted you guys to be the first to see the album cover for BRAVA… My new baby!!” wrote la “Chica Dorada,” who has sold more than 20 million album worldwide.

She later wrote messages to her fans about the significance of the album name to her fans: “Valiant, most excellent, applause after a great presentation of ‘Brava,’” she explained.

The highly anticipated 10-track album, Pau Pau’s first in more than two years, will include seven songs in Spanish and three in English. “Brava!” will include the track “Hoy me toca a mí“, a duet with Taboo of  The Black Eyed Peas.

The first single, “Me Gustas Tanto,” has already started getting some serious radio airplay. Produced by RedOne, the track is available on iTunes. The official music video will premiere on October 14th.

Meanwhile, “Brava!” will be released on November 15.
