Dawson Stars in Breast Cancer Awareness Month Film…

Don’t miss Rosario Dawson’s emotionally charged portrayal of a woman battling breast cancer in the Lifetime Channel TV movie “Five,” aimed at commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Five” is a collection of five short films that spotlight the journey of women and men afflicted with the disease. The films are interconnected by an oncologist who treats characters in some of the segments, deals with her own cancer in one, and as a little girl sees her mother dying of breast cancer.

Dawson appears as the lead character in the segment entitled “Lili”—directed by Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys—which follows a fiercely independent, career-minded woman (Dawson) who recruits her sister (Tracee Ellis Ross) to help tell their hard-nosed mother (Jenifer Lewis) that she has breast cancer. As they work through past issues, Lili’s mother and sister ultimately become her strongest allies at a time when she needs her family most.

Along with Keys, the other noted female directors helming a segment of “Five” include Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Independent Spirit Award winner Patty Jenkins and Penelope Spheeris.

The all-star ensemble cast includes Academy Award nominee Patricia ClarksonLyndsy Fonseca, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Holloway, Taylor Kinney, Jennifer Morrison, Kathy Najimy, Bob Newhart, Annie Potts, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Tony Shalhoub, and Emmy nominee Jeanne Tripplehorn.

“Five” premiere tonight on the Lifetime Channel at 9pm ET/8pm CT.
