Celaya to Star in NBC’s Supernatural Thriller “Constantine”

The 32-year-old Mexican American actress and telenovela star has been cast in NBC’s new supernatural thriller Constantine.

Celaya, who guest-starred on Burn Notice, will portray the character of Zed on the show.

The series is based on the characters appearing in the comic series Hellblazerpublished by DC Comics under their Vertigoimprint.

Executive producer Daniel Cerone described Zed as a character with “an interesting dark past” and called her a perfect foil for the title character of John Constantine, portrayed by Matt Ryan, a dark magician who is struggling with his past sins as he tries to protect humanity from a gathering supernatural threat.

“Zed is intuitive, she can detect bulls***,” he said, and Constantine is a “bulls*** artist.”

In addition to Ryan and Celaya, Constantine also stars Harrold Perrineau and Charles Halford.

Martinez to Star in ABC’s Drama Pilot “American Crime”

The 42-year-old Guatemalan American actor, best known for portraying David Aceveda in the FX drama series The Shield, has been cast in ABC’s drama pilot American Crime.

Written and executive-produced by John Ridley, the project centers on the racially charged murder of a war veteran and the subsequent trial, which are examined through the personal lives of the players involved.

Martinez will portray Alonzo, a hardworking, middle-class widowed father whose son is accused of the crime.

He previously recurred on Sons Of Anarchy and is coming off an arc on House Of Cards.

His other credits include television appearances on Dallas, Major Crimes, Covert Affairs, Burn Notice, Lie to Me and 24.

Guevara Lands Role in Fox‘s Batman Prequel Drama Series “Gotham”

The Latina actress has been cast opposite Ben McKenzie in Fox‘s Batman prequel drama series Gotham.

Based on the DC Comics characters from the Batman universe, Gotham explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon (McKenzie) as an idealistic rookie detective in Gotham City; Bruce Wayne following the death of his parents; and the villains that made Gotham City famous.

Guevara, who most recently starred on television in the USA Network’s spy series Burn Notice, will portray Captain Essen, Gordon’s boss at the GCPD Homicide Squad, who balances the worlds of police and politics with a Machiavellian skill that’s as much corporate litigator as cop.

Guevara’s other credits include appearances in the films The Guilt Trip and Marley & Me, as well as television appearances in Blue Bloods, Person of Interest and Common Law.

Gotham is written and executive-produced by The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller, with Warner Bros. Television producing.

Martines Lands Recurring Role on USA’s “Burn Notice”

The 37-year-old Latino actor and former General Hospital star has landed a recurring role on USA’s Burn Notice for its upcoming seventh season.

Martines will portray Carlos Cruz, a swashbuckling bounty hunter and Fiona’s (Gabrielle Anwar) charming new boyfriend.

Production on what could be the final season of Burn Notice, which will mark the series’ 100th episode, begins on Monday in Miami.

Martines, who portrayed Nikolas Cassadine on GH from 1999-2003, has appeared on Guiding Light, The Closer, Bones, CSI: Miami and The Vampire Diaries.

Serrano Cast in CBS’ Drama Pilot “The Ordained”

The 57-year-old Latino actor has landed a role in CBS’ drama pilot The Ordained.

Directed by RJ Cutler, the project revolves around Tom, the son of a Kennedy-type family who leaves his role as priest and becomes a lawyer to help prevent the assassination of his politician sister.

Serrano, who starred opposite Roselyn Sanchez in Act of Valor last summer, will portray Hector Nunez, a politician-turned-partner-at- New-York-law-firm where Tom works as a lawyer, and the man Tom suspects is the force behind the plot to kill his sister.

Serrano, who has a recurring role on CBS’ Blue Bloods, has previously appeared on Dexter, Burn Notice, Homeland, Alias, 24, Ugly Betty and Law & Order.

Ruivivar Lands Recurring Role on TNT’s “Southland”

The 42-year-old part-Spanish actor has landed a major recurring role on the fifth season of TNT’s cop drama series Southland.

Ruivivar – best known for his role as a paramedic in NBC’s long-running series Third Watch – has been cast in a season-long arc as Lucero, a veteran Los Angeles police officer and a Mexican American born and raised in East Los Angeles.

Ruivivar’s recent television credits include appearances on Burn Notice, American Horror Story, Criminal Minds and Lie to Me.

Pascal Cast in USA’s Law Enforcement Drama “Graceland”

It’s a case of Amazing Grace(land) for Pedro Pascal

The Latino actor has been cast in USA‘s upcoming law enforcement drama Graceland in a significant multi-episode arc as a rule-bending FBI agent, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Graceland centers on a group of diverse law-enforcement agents from the DEA, FBI and Customs whose worlds collide when they’re forced to live together in an undercover beach house in Southern California. Newcomer FBI agent Mike Warren (Aaron Tveit) gets thrown into the mix, led by seasoned pro Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata).

Pascal, who played Nathan Landry on CBSThe Good Wife, will play Juan Barcelo, a tough but charming FBI agent with a rocky experience at the Bureau. Several years in as a case officer, he runs point on FBI missions, working closely as a contact with specific agents. But past failures haunt him and he approaches new missions with greater levels of intensity. Though he has suspicions, Juan stops at nothing to find the truth, even if it means bending the rules and putting agents at risk. As Juan pushes Mike to investigate his own training officer, he is forthright and direct but, when it serves him, he’s warm and encouraging.

Production on the series has already begun in Florida, with the Graceland slated for a summer 2013 launch.

Graceland co-stars Manny Montana, Brandon Jay McLaren and Vanessa Ferlito.

Pascal’s television credits include FX’s Lights Out, CSI, Body of Proof and USA’s Burn Notice telepic The Fall of Sam Axe as Comandante Veracruz.

Khotan to Appear on USA’s “Royal Pains”

Telenovela star Khotan Fernández is setting his sights on a Hollywood crossover…

The 39-year-old Mexican telenovela star, simply known as Khotan, has signed on to appear in a recurring role on USA Network’s Royal Pains.

It’s the first English-speaking appearance for Khotan, who most recently starred in Telemundo’s popular telenovela Perro Amor.

Khotan will play Rafa, a polo-playing underwear model and love interest to Reshma Shetty’s character Divya.

The actor, who will appear in five episodes of Royal Pains, is currently starring in the series Sexo Debil.

In addition to Khotan, his Perro Amor co-star Angelica Celaya will guest star on USA’s Burn Notice.

Zúñiga to Guest Star on “Burn Notice”

José Zúñiga is about to get burned

The Honduran-born American actor is set to appear on an upcoming episode of USA’s Burn Notice, according to TVLine.

Zúñiga will play Vasquez, a “clever and sadistic” cocaine smuggler who doesn’t shy away from torture. Zúñiga’s character will be introduced in Episode 11 of the sixth season.

It’s the latest television role for Zúñiga, who has appeared on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, the short-lived NBC series The Event and Desperate Housewives.

He most recently appeared as General Benicio Flores on ABC’s new Shonda Rimes series Scandal.

In addition, Zúñiga has appeared on the big screen in Alive, Con Air and Twilight.

Burn Notice airs Thursdays at 9/8c on USA.

The 29-year-old Mexican American telenovela actress has landed a guest-starring role in Matt Nix’s series Burn Notice, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Celaya, who has starred in Telemundo’s telenovelas Perro Amor and Alguien te mira,will appear in the ninth episode of the season as the sexy and charming Angela Flores, the girlfriend of an engineer who might be selling weapons technology on the black market. The CIA uses her as an asset to get close to the engineer, but the job might require more patience and professionalism than she can handle.

Burn Notice airs at 9 p.m. Thursdays.
