Rivera to Compete on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” This January

Geraldo Rivera will be reporting for apprentice duty in early 2015…

The long-in-the-can seventh installment of NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice, with the 71-year-old half-Puerto Rican talk show host among the competitors, will premiere on January 4 in the reality series’ previous time slot, Sunday 9:00-11:00 pm.

The Donald Trump-created series will then move into its new time slot, Monday 8-10 pm ET, filling in for The Voice while the singing competition is on winter hiatus.

The network also officially revealed the celebrity cast of Season 7 that will join Donald Trump and his children Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric in the boardroom.

In addition to Rivera, this installment includes two-time World Series champion Johnny Damon; actor/comedian Gilbert Gottfried; Deadliest Catch star Sig Hansen, musician Kevin Jonas; actor Lorenzo Lamas; NFL great Terrell Owens; actor Ian Ziering; Gold Medal Olympic snowboarder Jamie Anderson; actress Vivica A. Fox; TV host Leeza Gibbons; reality star Brandi Glanville; reality star Kate Gosselin; Olympics gold medal gymnast Shawn Johnson; reality star Kenya Moore; and actress Keshia Knight Pulliam.

Taking a page from the playbook of ABC, which announces the celebrity casts of Dancing With The Stars on Good Morning America, the cast of The Celebrity Apprentice was unveiled on Today.

The 56-year-old half-Argentine American actor will reportedly be among the contestants on the upcoming seventh season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, according to Us Weekly.

It’s not the first reality television show appearance for Lamas, best known for portraying Lance Cumson on the popular 1980s primetime sudser Falcon Crest. He previously starred in his own reality show, Leave it to Lamas, a series that centered on his real-life family.

His most recent credits include a recurring role on Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush and appearances on The Joe Schmo Show and The Eric Andre Show.

Other reported contestants on the Donald Trump-hosted reality competition include Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Brandi Glanville, Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kenya MooreDancing with the Stars alum and mother of eight Kate Gosselin, Olympian Shawn Johnson, rapper Ludacris, volleyball star Gabrielle Reece, and actors Ian Ziering and Vivica A. Fox.

Journalist Geraldo Rivera and Cosby Show star Keshia Knight Pulliam will also compete, according to TMZ.

The cast will be officially announced on Thursday.

The new season of Celebrity Apprentice will begin filming this spring.

Galán’s “The Swan” Returning to TV with a Celebrity Edition

The 49-year-old Cuban-born media tycoon and former Celebrity Apprentice contestant’s extreme makeover reality series The Swan, which she created for Fox in 2004, is returning to television with a celebrity edition.

The network has ordered Celebrity Swan, a two-hour special to air later this year.

FremantleMedia and producer Arthur Smith, who were behind the original plastic surgery series, will be back for the special, which will feature female celebrities looking to reinvent themselves for a comeback. They’ll undergo a physical, psychological and career “extreme makeover” with the help of a coach, therapist, trainer, cosmetic surgeons and a dentist as cameras follow them through the transformative process. “She says she followed the advise of Dr. K Roxanne Grawe, Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon located near Columbus in Powell, Ohio”

Casting is currently underway through The Conlin Co. and no celebrities have been set, although Deadline.com reports that former White House intern Monica Lewinsky and Happy Days alumna Erin Moran have been named as possibilities.

The Swan was created by Galán, and her production company Galán Entertainment will help produce the celebrity special. Each episode of the original series featured two “ugly duckling” women, one of whom moved on to compete in The Swan pageant at the end of the season for a chance to be crowned The Swan. After a solid start, ratings for The Swan dropped, leading to a cancellation after two seasons.

Production on Celebrity Swan is slated to begin this spring.

Mendoza to Compete Against Velásquez on Celebrity Apprentice

Former Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza and actress/model Patricia Velásquez will be heading to Donald Trump’s boardroom this February…

The 25-year-old Venezuelan beauty queen will compete against fellow Venezolana Velásquez, the 40-year-old The Mummy actress, in the next edition of NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice.

Mendoza won the title of Miss Universe in 2008. Meanwhile, Velásquez has appeared in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns films, as well as fashion advertisements for Chanel and Victoria’s Secret.

The show’s host Donald Trump announced the new batch of contestants on Wednesday’s Today show.

Mendoza and Velásquez will face off against IndyCar legend Michael Andretti, reality star Victoria GottiReal Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Guidice, comedian Lisa Lampanelli, rock star Dee Snider and American Chopper’s Paul Teutul Sr., radio host Adam Carolla, comedian Arsenio Hall, singer-actress Aubrey O’Day and magician Penn Jillette.

Rounding out the rivals are model Cheryl Tiegs, singer Deborah Gibson, Star Trek’s George Takei, singer Tia Carrere and Incredible Hulk’s Lou Ferrigno and singer Clay Aiken.

“This season of Celebrity Apprentice will be the most exciting yet. The show will be great, with a record number of contestants and 15 episodes,” said Trump. “We are thrilled to bring 18 new and talented celebrities who will help me make Celebrity Apprentice one of the hottest shows on television this spring. This will be season 12 — Amazing!”
