Camila Cabello Leads U.K. Midweek Sales Chart with “Havana”

Camila Cabello is making waves across the pond…

After three weeks in the runner-up position, the 20-year-old Cuban singer has the U.K. chart crown in her sights.

Cabello’s hit “Havana” climbs 2-1 on the midweek chart, with a 3,500 combined sales lead over the second-placed “Rockstar” by Post Malone featuring 21 Savage, which is unseated from the chart throne after four weeks. It’s the first time that “Havana” has led the Official Chart Update.

Meanwhile, Marshmello and Khalid’s “Silence” is unchanged at No. 3, Avicii and Rita Ora’s collab “Lonely Together” is unmoved at No. 4 and Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” rises one place to No. 5.

Rita Ora could snaffle a second top 10 when the Official U.K. Singles Chart is published this Friday as “Anywhere” leaps 20-6, just up from Charlie Puth’s “How Long,” which follows a similar trajectory by soaring 18-7.

Marshmello, meanwhile, backs up his “Silence” hit with “Wolves,” a collaboration with Selena Gomez which bites into the chart at No. 14 for the highest debut on the current midweek survey.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee are officially the stars of the summer…

Spotify has revealed its global most-streamed songs of the summer, and 39-year-old Puerto Rican singer and 40-year-old Puerto Rican rapper’s juggernaut “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, reigns supreme.

The smash hit — which this week capped its record-breaking 16th week atop the Billboard Hot 100 — garnered more than 786 million streams on Spotify this summer, specifically between June 21 and August 27.

In global streams, “Despacito” is followed by DJ Khaled‘s “Wild Thoughts” with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller at No. 2, and French Montana‘s “Unforgettable” at No. 3.

In the U.S., “Despacito” is instead followed by Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” at No. 2, with “Wild Thoughts” taking No. 3. Later down the line on both lists are Calvin Harris, Kendrick Lamar, Charlie Puth, Demi Lovato and others.

Spotify’s head of Latin culture Rocio Guerrero is calling 2017 “the summer of Latin music,” with five Spanish-language songs featured in the global top 30 ranking.

The list includes Willy William and J Balvin‘s “Mi Gente,” Maluma‘s “Felices los 4,” Danny Ocean‘s “Me Rehúso,” and both the original “Despacito” and remix featuring Bieber.

Notably, only seven female artists make the global top 30 list, and only three — Demi Lovato with “Sorry Not Sorry,” Rita Ora with “Your Song” and Maggie Lindemann with “Pretty Girls” — are the main artists, rather than featured guests, on their included tracks.

Bruno Mars Earns Four MTV Video Music Awards Nominations

It’s a Magic-al time for Bruno Mars…

The 31-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer leads the Latino pack of MTV Video Music Awards nominees with four nods.

Mars, who released “24K Magic” as the lead single from the album of the same name in October, is nominated in the top two categories, Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for “24K Magic.”

He’s also up for Best Direction and Best Art Direction for the same track, which peaked at No. 4 in the United States.

The MTV VMAs will air live on August 27 from the Forum in Inglewood, CA.

Like MTV’s earlier Movie & TV Awards, the network has combined categories to remove gender designations, with the former Best Female Video and Best Male Video categories combined to become Artist of the Year.

Selena Gomez picked up two nods for her most recent collaborations.

The 25-year-old Mexican American singer/actress is nominated for Best Collaboration for her work on Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore” and Best Dance for “It Ain’t Me” with Kygo.

Fifth Harmony picked up two nods, including Best Pop for the part-Latina girl group’s “Down,’ featuring Gucci Mane. The other nod comes in the Best Choreography category for the same video.

Fans vote will decide eight of the VMAs’ 15 categories, with the Artist of the Year voting live through the pre-show.

Gomez Receives Five Radio Disney Music Award Nominations

Selena Gomez hasn’t lost her Disney popularity…

The 24-year-old Mexican American singer/actress, who starred on the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 – 2012, has earned five nominations for this year’s Radio Disney Music Awards.

Gomez, a six–time RDMA winner, is nominated in the best female artist, fiercest fans and best tour categories. She’s also up for best breakup song and best collaboration for “We Don’t Talk Anymore” with Charlie Puth.

Bruno Mars, meantime, has earned two RDMA nominations. The 31-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer is nominated for best male artist and best song that makes you smile for his hit single “24K Magic.”

Other Hispanic nominees include Fifth Harmony for best group and fiercest fans, Demi Lovato for best tour,a nd Camila Cabello for best collaboration for her single with Machine Gun Kelly, “Bad Things.”

Stuck in the Middle star Jenna Ortega is one of five hosts for this year’s awards show, alongside Hamilton star Jordan Fisher, Descendants actress Sofia Carson, Radio Disney host and singer Alex Aiono and country singer Kelsea Ballerini.

The RDMAs will take place on Saturday, April 29, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and the show will air the following day, April 30, at 7:00 pm ET on the Disney Channel. Voting is now open at Disney.com/RDMA.

Gomez Lands Her Sixth Top 10 Single on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart

It’s a sweet sixth for Selena Gomez…

Charlie Puth‘s “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” featuring the 24-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress, has reached the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, rising 12-10.

Gomez’s collaboration with Puth holds at No. 4 on the Digital Songs chart (53,000, down 10 percent; it’s on sale for 69 cents in the iTunes Store); pushes 13-12 on Streaming Songs (11.9 million, up 3 percent); and backtracks 16-17 on Radio Songs, but with a 5 percent gain to 64 million.

With the performance this week, Gomez achieves her sixth top 10 (and first in a featured role).

Gomez’s previous Top 10 singles on the chart include “Good For You” (peaked at No. 5), “Same Old Love” (No. 5), “The Heart Wants What It Wants” (No. 6), “Come & Get It” (No. 6), and “Hands To Myself” (No. 7).

Selena Gomez is thisclose to a sixth Top 10…

The 24-year-old half-Mexican American singer’s collaboration with Charlie Puth, “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” has reached a new high on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Gomez and Puth’s single jumps 18-13 on the chart. The single blasts into the Digital Songs sales chart’s top five (21-5), up 71 percent to 57,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music, boosted by 69-cent sale-pricing in the iTunes Store.

The collaboration backtracks 16-17 on the Radio Songs chart, but with a 5 percent lift to 56 million in airplay audience, and it rises 28-23 on the Streaming Songs chart (8.9 million U.S. streams, up 7 percent).

Should Puth and Gomez’s single hit the Hot 100’s top 10, it would become Gomez’s sixth top 10 and Puth’s second.

Charlie Puth has released a remix package of his hit collaboration with the 23-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress, “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”

The single recently became Puth’s fourth single to cross into the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The three-remix package of the Gomez-featured hit includes one by DROELOE.

The original single appears on Puth’s album Nine Track Mind.

Gomez & Charlie Puth Release Breakup Jam “We Don’t Talk Anymore”

Selena Gomez is done talking…

The 23-year-old Mexican American singer has joined voices with Charlie Puth for the breakup jam “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”

The single finds the pair wistfully reminiscing about a past relationship and wondering where it all went wrong.

Puth told MTV News in December that he immediately thought of Gomez for the song because of its personal and relatable message.

“I met up with Selena, and she went through a very public relationship, on and off, and she could just relate to the song and the lyrical sentiment,” he said. “I was playing the song for her, and she just started singing the second verse. I got chills. I was like, ’Oh my gosh, that sounds so real. You need to sing on it.’ And she said yes.”

The Gomez-assisted track will appear on Puth’s debut album, Nine Track Mind, which will be released on Friday.

Sanchez to Co-Host This Year’s Miss Universe Pageant

Roselyn Sanchez has landed a universal role…

The 42-year-old Puerto Rican actress, singer and Devious Maids star will co-host this year’s Miss Universe pageant.

Sanchez, who recently co-hosted this year’s Latin Grammys, will report live from the show and backstage.

Sanchez made headlines around the world when she walked out of Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s Miss USA Pageant as co-host after his remarks about Mexican immigrants in the Unites States.

Trump sold his interest in the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants after the controversy that erupted in remarks in his bid for the presidency. Univision and NBC severed their relationship with the real estate mogul, and Sanchez, whose credits include Without a Trace, walked away from the pageant broadcast in protest.

At the time, Roselyn wrote on her Facebook page: “As a Latino, proud of my roots, culture and all that we have contributed to this nation, I decided to cancel my participation in the Miss USA Pageant.

“I cannot tolerate the disrespectful and hurtful words out of the mouth of Mr. Trump. Mexicans, like all Latinos, contribute positively to this great nation. We are the force that keeps the country afloat.”

Hosted by Emmy winner Steve Harvey, the annual broadcast will feature performances from Seal, Charlie Puth and The Band Perry.

The 2015 Miss Universe telecast will air live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Sunday, Decenber 20, at 7:00 pm ET on Fox.
