David Longoria’s “Playground” Featuring Dallas Lovato Enters Billboard’s Dance Club Songs Chart

David Longoria has found a new Playground

The Latino music producer enters Billboards Dance Club Songs chart (dated October 13) at No. 48 with “Playground,” featuring vocals from Dallas Lovato.

David Longoria

It’s the third chart appearance for the trumpet player and first since his instrumental “Zoon Baloomba” zoomed to No. 21 in 2012. That followed what remains Longoria’s biggest hit, “Deeper Love,” featuring CeCe Peniston (No. 14, 2005).

“Playground” was remixed by Stonebridge & Damian HallRobert Eibach and Drew G., among a host of others.

For Dallas, Demi’s older sister, the track marks her first Billboard chart appearance. She tells Billboard, “If music is supposed to be how feelings sound, then ‘Playground’ definitely awakens the senses. It hits your ears like a party, gets stuck in your head in the best way and travels to your toes, making you have to dance. You can’t listen to the song without instantly feeling excited, like you’re transported to a rave on the beach in Rio!”

Following Demi Lovato’s recent No. 22 peak as featured on Clean Bandit‘s “Solo,” Dallas says, “It’s surreal to be on the same Billboard chart that my sister was on just a few weeks ago, and an honor to work with such great music creators like David.”

Demi Lovato

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer took to Twitter to make the revelation during a brief Q&A with her fans.

A fan asked Lovato if she was finished releasing singles from Tell Me You Love Me“Pretty much,” Lovato responded. “I have so much new music to release very VERY soon!!!”

“So no third single?” Another fan questioned, presumably wanting more than just “Sorry Not Sorry” and the album’s title track. “Give us a third single and then move on.” To which Lovato replied simply: “Nope.”

Despite her recent smash collaborations with Luis Fonsi, Clean Bandit and Christina Aguilera, Lovato hinted that even more new singles from her are on the horizon.

“Very VERY soon…. could be a matter of weeks actually,” Lovato continued.

Blacc & Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” is the Most Shazamed Song of All Time

There’s no need to wake (me) up Aloe Blacc from this dream…

The 35-year-old Panamanian American singer-songwriter, who earned two NAACP Image Award nominations earlier this week, has made Shazam history.

Aloe Blacc

Blacc forms part of the most Shazamed song of all time. Avicii‘s hit “Wake Me Up” featuring Blacc’s vocals has collected more than 19 million queries on the music app to date.

Maldonado & Pentatonix Release Cover of Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be”

It looks like Kirstie Maldonado has another smash hit cover on her hands…

The half-Mexican American/part-Spanish artist and her fellow Pentatonix group mates have released another catchy reinterpretation.

Pentatonix

The Streamy Award-winning a capella group’s upcoming EP, PTX Vol. III, comes out on September 23, and as a tease, their cover of Clean Bandit‘s “Rather Be” has made its way online.

Pentatonix, the winners of NBC‘s singing competition The Sing-Off in 2011, sticks to what they do best in their latest song, and it’s another hit for Maldonado, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and beatboxer Kevin Olusola.

“We’re huge fans of Clean Bandit, and we’re so excited to be covering this!” Grassi told People about the song off PTX Vol. III, which also includes an already-released cover of “Problem” by Ariana Grande.
