Netflix Releases Teaser Trailer for Eiza González’s Sci-Fi Epic Series “3 Body Problem”

Netflix has released the first footage of its highly anticipated sci-fi epic 3 Body Problem, starring the 33-year-old Mexican actress and singer.

Eiza GonzálezFrom David Benioff and D.B. Weiss — their first large-scale project at the streamer since signing a mega overall deal in 2019 — and Alexander Woo, the project is based on the book series by Cixin Liu.

The eight-episode drama, which recently wrapped production, will launch in January 2024.

Per Netflix’s logline for the sci-fi series, “A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time to a group of brilliant scientists in the present day. As the laws of nature unravel before their eyes, five former colleagues reunite to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.”

3 Body Problem stars Jess Hong, Benedict Wong, González, Jovan Adepo, Alex Sharp, John Bradley, Saamer Usmani, Liam Cunningham, Rosalind Chao, Jonathan Pryce, Marlo Kelly, Sea Shimooka, Ben Schnetzer and Zine Tseng.

Benioff, Weiss and Woo wrote the series and serve as showrunners.

The “3 Body Problem” premiere window news and teaser were revealed by cast members Hong, Wong, Adepo, Sharp and Bradley during Netflix’s live-streamed fan event TUDUM, which was hosted out of Brazil Saturday.

The show was one of several featured during the event, which Netflix took live for the first time this year.

Pascal Cast in High-Profile Role on HBO’s “Game of Thrones”

It’s game on for Pedro Pascal

The Chilean actor has been cast in HBO’s drama Game of Thrones in one of the series’ most anticipated new roles of the upcoming fourth season.

Pascal will portray Prince Oberyn Martell, who is called the Red Viper. Martell, The Prince of Dorne comes to Kings Landing seeking revenge for the death of his sister, who was killed by the Lannisters when the Mad King was overthrown.

Pascal, who has been cast in a guest starring role on Showtime’s Homeland, has previously had arcs on CBSThe Good Wife, ABC’s Red Widow and USA’s Graceland.

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss told Entertainment Weekly the casting was “tough,” saying, “The Red Viper is sexy and charming, yet believably dangerous; intensely likable, yet driven by hate… We found a fellow who can handle the job description and make it seem effortless. He wasn’t easy to find and he won’t be easy to stop.”

The hit HBO drama returns in 2014.
