Enrique Murciano to Star in Michelle Danner’s Courtroom Drama “Miranda’s Victim”

The 48-year-old Cuban American actor will star in Michelle Danner’s courtroom drama Miranda’s Victim.

They join a stacked ensemble led by Abigail Breslin, which also includes Luke Wilson, Andy Garcia, Donald Sutherland, Ryan Phillippe, Mireille Enos, Kyle MacLachlan and Taryn Manning, as previously announced.

The film will tell the true story of Trish Weir (Breslin), who in 1963 was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda (Quinn). Committed to putting her assailant in prison, Trish’s life is destroyed by America’s legal system as she triggers a law that transforms the nation. Her case notably results in the establishment of the Miranda rights afforded to criminal suspects taken in police custody, to ensure the admissibility of statements made during interrogation, as part of subsequent criminal proceedings.

Murciano will portray Detective Cooley.

The film, written by George Kolber and J. Craig Stiles, is currently in production in New Jersey.

The production company involved is Navesink River Productions.

Murciano played Detective Marco Diaz on Netflix’s popular crime drama Bloodline and has also been seen on such series as PanicTell Me Your SecretsBriarpatch, The Blacklist, Hap and Leonard and Power. Notable film credits include Bright, Rough NightDawn of the Planet of the Apes and Black Hawk Down. He’ll next be seen in the HBO Max rom-com Father of the Bride and Netflix’s series The Night Agent.

Acevedo Lands Undisclosed Role in “Insidious: Chapter 4”

The 44-year-old Puerto Rican actor, who currently stars in Syfy’s time-travel thriller series 12 Monkeys, has joined the cast of Insidious: Chapter 4which is filming and scheduled to open on October 20, 2017.

Acevedo’s character is being kept under wraps.

Universal Pictures/Blumhouse Productions’ latest installment to the $370M microbudget franchise is being helmed by series newcomer Adam Robitel.

Acevedo joins Lin Shaye as parapsychologist Elise Rainier, as well as franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell and Angus Sampson, who respectively play Specs and Tucker.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions is financing Insidious: Chapter 4 and handling international distribution. Whannell wrote all four Insidious movies and directed Chapter 3.

Acevedo plays Ramse in Syfy’s 12 Monkeys and previously starred in Dawn of the Planet of the ApesHis other credits include Prime Suspect, The Walking Dead, Band of Brothers, Thin Red Line and Oz.

Chavarria to Star in 20th Century Fox’s “War of the Planet of the Apes”

Gabriel Chavarria has plenty of reason to go bananas…

The Honduran American actor, who recently signed with Paradigm Talent Agency, is finalizing a deal to be one of two human leads in 20th Century Fox’s War of the Planet of the Apes, the latest installment of the franchise.

Matt Reeves returns to direct, shooting expected to begin in October in Vancouver, Canada.

The film’s sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apesgrossed $708 million worldwide last year with Reeves at the helm, nearly double the business of the franchise reboot — a major score for Fox and producer Chernin Entertainment.

Chavarria, the young star of Universal Pictures’ upcoming film Low Riders, is the male lead on Hulu’s drama series East Los High.

In Low Riders, from Imagine Entertainment and Blumhouse Productions, he plays an East LA teen immersed in the world of lowrider cars and street tagging while caught between his traditional father (Demian Bichir) and his estranged gangbanger brother, who both are competing in the annual lowrider “Supershow.”

His other recent credits include Aquarius, Prime Suspect, Southland and the feature Teacher of The Year.

20th Century Fox has released the final trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, featuring the 40-year-old Cuban American actor in an undisclosed role.

In the sequel to the reboot of the original Planet of the Apes series, a group of Homo sapiens who were able to dodge a nasty virus a decade earlier is threatening Caesar and his Earth-ruling primates. A fragile peace is struck, but it doesn’t hold for long.

In addition to Murciano, director Matt Reeves’ action flick Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Kirk Acevedo, who portrays the character Carver.

The film is scheduled for release on July 11, 2014.

Murciano Lands Recurring Role on New Netflix Psychological Thriller

The 40-year-old Cuban-American actor has landed a recurring role on Netflix‘s untitled psychological thriller from Sony Pictures Television.

Written and executive produced by Damages creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler, the 13-episode series centers on a close-knit family of four adult siblings (Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Norbert Leo Butz) whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother (Mendelsohn) returns home.

Murciano will portray Meg’s (Cardellini) boyfriend Marco, a member of the county sheriff’s department.

He’ll next be seen in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, Water & Power and a recurring role on the Starz drama Power.

His previous television credits include 666 Park Avenue, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, Medium and Without a Trace.
