Paying homage to his roots and folklore music, Garcia turned the timeless ranchera by José Alfredo Jiménez into an entrancing lullaby-like acoustic.

Aimée, who’s a French-Dominican, U.S.-based jazz artist, adds her soothing soulful vocals.

“En El Último Trago,” marks the first single off Garcia’s forthcoming album Amor Pasado, which completes his trilogy that began in 2014 with Amor Futuro and Amor Presente released in 2018.

On the album, Garcia gears away from his distinguishable pop-ballad sounds and taps into Mexican folk as a tribute to the composers of the classic Mexican songbook.

According to an official release, this is Garcia’s “wonderful way of rediscovering Mexico’s legendary songwriters.”

Additionally, Garcia premiere the first episode, where he discusses Jiménez’s life story, success, and most-beloved hits, this week.

Building up to Amor Pasado’s release, Garcia will premiere a new single and episode at 8:45 p.m. ET every Thursday.
