Antonio Banderas Starring in A24’s Erotic Thriller “Babygirl”

Antonio Banderas has found his babygirl…

The 63-year-old Spanish Oscar-nominated actor will star in A24’s erotic thriller Babygirl.

Antonio BanderasNicole Kidman, Harris Dickinson, Sophie Wilde and Jean Reno will also star in the film, which will be directed by Halina Reijn.

In the film, written by Reijn, a successful CEO begins an illicit affair with her much younger intern. David Hinojosa of 2AM will produce alongside Reijn of MAN UP Film and A24, which is financing the project.

Reijn comes to make Babygirl with A24 after collaborating with the studio on her critically acclaimed satirical slasher Bodies Bodies Bodies, which world premiered out of SXSW. She previously saw her 2019 directorial debut Instinct, selected as the official Dutch entry for the Best International Feature Oscar, acquired by the company.

This year, Banderas appeared in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny with Harrison Ford, Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Toby Jones and John Rhys-Davies. He has also portrayed Herod in the Christmas musical film Journey to Bethlehem.

Úrsula Corberó’s career is getting a Lift…

The 32-year-old Spanish actress and model, who rose to acclaim on Netflix’s The Money Heist, will star in Kevin Hart’s Netflix-film “Lift.”

Ursula CorberoCorberó is among a stellar cast that includes Sam Worthington, Burn Gorman, Jean Reno and Jacob Batalon.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Billy Magnussen, Yun Jee Kim, Viveik Kalra and Paul Anderson are also on board.

Gary Gray will direct the film, with Dan Kunka and Jeremy Doner penning the script. Netflix landed the package last year.

Hart will play a master thief who is wooed by his ex-girlfriend and the FBI to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew on a 777 flying from London to Zurich.

Lift falls under Hart and HartBeat Productions’ creative partnership with Netflix.

Olivares to Direct “The Way Of The Eagle”

Gerardo Olivares has set an (eagle) eye on his next project…

The 49-year-old Spanish filmmaker is set to direct the film The Way Of The Eagle, from Terra Mater Factual Studios.

Olivares’ first English-language film, which is described as an exploration of human and animal relationships, will star French actor Jean Reno and Spanish actor Manuel Camacho.

Principal photography on The Way Of The Eagle starts this June.

Olivares’ previous projects include the award-winning Spanish films La gran final and 14 kilómetros.
