Jesse & Joy Release Star-Studded “Love (Es Nuestro Idioma)” Music Video in Support of LGBTI+ Community

Jesse & Joy are spreading the love with some all-star assistance…

The Mexican Latin Grammy-winning brother and sister duo has released the official music video for “Love (Es Nuestro Idioma)” and it features appearances by nearly 200 people from around the world, including artists like Thalía, Juanes and more.

The music video speaks out against violence toward the LGBTI+ community and raises awareness about conversion therapies that to this day take place in Mexico and other parts of the world.

“Our music will always be there to remind you that you are beautiful just as you are,” the Mexican previously said about the song, included in their recently-released album Aire. “It’s called ‘Love’ and talks about love being the universal language, the language that all of us should speak.”

Toward the end of the video, the message is loud and clear: “A sexual orientation is nothing something that should be cured. Conversion therapies are acts of torture and violation of privacy.”

Featuring cameos by Latin artists like Mon Laferte, Natalia Jiménez, Ángela Aguilar, Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Kany García, Ana Bárbara, Tommy Torres, Sofía Reyes, Luis Fonsi, among others, the video was directed by Kacho López and Joy.

The release coincides with the landmark ruling officially protecting LGBTQ people from workplace discrimination issued by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Profits from the video will be donated to the YAAJ MEXICO Foundation to help the organization continue their social work in Mexico and for their work supporting sexual violence young victims.

Jesse & Joy are spreading some Love this Pride Month…

The Mexican brother & sister duo, comprised of Jesse Eduardo Huerta Uecke and Tirzah Joy Huerta Uecke, kicked off Pride Monthby releasing “Love (Es Nuestro Idioma),” a new track featured on their new album Aire.

“Our music will always be there to remind you that you are beautiful just as you are,” Jesse & Joy said in the homemade video released on their Instagram page. “It’s called ‘Love’ and talks about love being the universal language, the language that all of us should speak.”

On the post’s caption, they elaborated that the song and video are in celebration of Pride Month and was a previous presentation for, LGBTI organization Yaaj Mexico.

“Do not let anyone tell you that it is wrong to love,” they stated of the uptempo acoustic song.

Spotify is upping it’s Latin Music game…

Spotify’s ¡Viva Latino! Playlist, which launched in 2014, has been connecting music lovers with some of the most established voices en el mundo Latino and giving a platform to emerging acts, all the while bridging cultural gaps regardless of language or origin.

But Spotify knows there’s more to music than just the finished product, and there’s more to an artist than what we hear on a single track. That’s why Spotify is upping the ante every Friday with a constantly refreshing playlist that brings fans even closer to their favorite Latin artists like J Balvin, Shakira or Daddy Yankee.

Starting this week, the new ¡Viva Latino! feed comes equipped with exclusive, original content, including videos from artists of all genres, behind-the-scenes tracks, and more.

According to Rocio Guerrero, head of global cultures at Spotify, the new enhanced playlist is poised to change the game, giving fans unparalleled access to the movers and shakers making a name for Latin music around the world.

“It’s a new playlist that we believe will take Latin culture to the next level. I don’t think there’s anything like it. It will have its own identity, original music videos and cover stories. The podcast is scheduled to feature luminaries like Jennifer Lopez, Jesse & Joy, Becky G, Bad Bunny, Carlos Vives and Bomba Estéreo, among many others.

Guerrero looks no further than this year in Latin music as an indicator of the genre’s promising future in pop culture.

Prince Royce to Perform at This Year’s Latin American Music Awards

Prince Royce is ready to take the international stage…

The 28-year-old Dominican American bachata singer has been added to the list of superstars set to perform at 2017 Latin American Music Awards 2017, according to Telemundo.

Prince Royce, the reigning Favorite Tropical Artist, joins a list of performers that includes Chris Brown, Gente de Zona, Natalia Jimenez, Banda MS, Alejandra Guzmán, Gloria Trevi, hip hop legend Spiff TV, Pablo Alborán and Jesse & Joy.

The list of performers also includes upcoming acts like Spanish pop singer Abraham Mateo, Cuban pop music group Angeles, Puerto Rican “trap” singer Bad Bunny, regional Mexican singer Christian Nodal and Colombian singer/songwriter Manuel Medrano.

The “Latin AMAs” honors artists in the genres of Pop/Rock, Regional Mexican, Urban and Tropical, as well as categories for Favorite Crossover Artist, Favorite Collaboration, New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, among others.

This year, Colombian superstars Shakira and Maluma top the list of nominees for the third annual awards show. Nominees are based on key fan interactions with music, including, but not limited to, sales, airplay, streaming and social activity tracked by Billboard through its data partners Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.

The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA, at 9:00 pm ET on Thursday, October 26. The show is produced by Telemundo and Somos Productions.

Camila Cabello to Perform at This Year’s iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina

Camila Cabello is ready for a Fiesta…

The 20-year-old Cuban and Mexican singer and former Fifth Harmony member is set to perform at this year’s iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina.

Cabello, whose forthcoming debut solo album will be released in September, joins a lineup that includes CNCO, Don Omar, Gente de Zona and Nacho.

Cabello, the new face of Guess’ 2017 Fall campaign, performed for the first time as a solo artist at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.

The fourth annual iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina will take place at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on November 4 and will be broadcast as a special at a later date on Telemundo. This is the third year the fest takes place in Miami.

The event will be hosted by radio personality Enrique Santos, who is also the chairman and chief creative officer of iHeartLatino.

Mexican stars Reik and Jesse & Joy are also slated to perform and more acts will be announced soon.

In addition to the special re-broadcast on Telemundo, iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina will video stream live exclusively on Telemundo.com and broadcast live on iHeartMedia Spanish-Pop, Tropical and regional Mexican music.

Jesse & Joy Claim Their First-Ever Grammy Award

It’s a special first for Jesse & Joy…

The Mexican duo, comprised of Jesse Huerta and his sister Joy Huerta, picked up their first ever gramophone at Sunday’s Grammy Awards show.

Jesse & Joy, six-time Latin Grammy winners, including four in 2012, took home the award for Best Latin Pop Album for their critically acclaimed album Un Besito Mas, which won Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album at last year’s Latin Grammys.

The siblings beat out strong studio efforts from Gaby Moreno, Laura Pausini, Sanalejo and Diego Torres for their first Grammy.

Kirstie Maldonado is now a three-time Grammy winner.

The 24-year-old half-Mexican, part Spanish-American singer and her fellow Pentatonix members won a gramophone Sunday night in anew category.

Pentatonix and Dolly Parton took home the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their remix of Parton’s iconic hit “Jolene.”

The five-member a cappella group had previously won back-to-back Grammys in the Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella category in 2015 and 2016.

Chucho Valdés has earned the sixth gramophone of his career, and his first since 2009.

The 75-year-old Cuban pianist, bandleader, composer and arranger, whose career spans over 50 years, picked up the Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album for his latest work, Tribute To Irakere: Live In Marciac.

The 76-year-old Mexican singer, nicknamed “El Rey de la Música Ranchera,” won the Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano) Grammy for his album Un Azteca En El Azteca, Vol. 1 (En Vivo).

The first time’s the charm for Ile…

The 27-year-old Puerto Rican singer, composer, and vocalist, who was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best New Artist, took home her first Grammy for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album for her first solo album iLevitable, which was released in June 2016.

For 10 years, Ile, whose real name is Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar, was the sole female singer of Calle 13, performing along with her brothers René Pérez Joglar (“Residente“) and Eduardo Cabra Joglar (“Visitante“).

The late Jose Lugo and his band Guasábara Combo won the Grammy for Best Tropical Latin Album for Donde Están?

Lugo died last June at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer.

Giancarlo Guerrero proved to be the big winner of the night, picking up three Grammys.

The 47-year-old Costa Rican conductor, the music director of the Nashville Symphony, took home the awards for Best Classical Instrumental Solo, Best Classical Compendium and Best Contemporary Classical Composition for his work on the Nashville Symphony’s Daugherty: Tales Of Hemingway project.

Jesse & Joy will honor El Divo de Juárez with a special performance…

The Latin Grammy-winning Mexican duo, comprised of Jesse Huerta and his sister Joy Huerta, have joined the star-studded roster for the tribute concert for the late Juan Gabriel, Eternamente Juan Gabriel, taking place on February 18.

In addition to Jesse & Joy, the lineup includes Juanes, David Bisbal, Pepe Aguilar, Natalia Laforurcade and Luis Fonsi.

The official event poster with the artists performing at Foro Pegaso in the State of Mexico has been shared over social media.

Other confirmed singers include Yuri, Emmanuel, India, Shaila Dúrcal, Yuridia, Kinky, John Fogerty, Aída Cuevas, Fernando de la Mora and Andrea Bocelli.

In a video shared on Gabriel’s official Twitter account, Juanes invites his fans to join him for a “heartfelt tribute” honoring the late singer.

Eternamente Juan Gabriel was announced by the chart-topping artist’s family back in December.

“We have the support of Mexico’s government to produce something of high quality, just like the concerts my father gave us,” the singer’s son, Iván Aguilera, said in a press conference. “It will be something very special where people will be able to relive the experience of watching their idol Juan Gabriel.”

Gustavo Farias, musical producer for the tribute concert, offered details about the production, teasing a “very big surprise”: “During performances, we will be showing images of Juan Gabriel but we have a very, very big surprise. I can’t say much yet but we will be using high quality technology.”

Durcal Among Artists to Perform at Special Tribute Concert for the Late Juan Gabriel

Shaila Durcal is paying tribute to a Mexican legend…

The 37-year-old Spanish Grammy nominated singer-songwriter will perform at a special tribute concert for the late Juan Gabriel.

The homage, entitled Eternamente Juan Gabriel, will take place on February 18 at Foro Pegaso in the State of Mexico, with tickets going on sale in January.

The concert details, revealed four months after the death of Mexican music icon, were announced by Gabriel’s son Iván Aguilera during a press conference in Mexico.

Aguilera said the ambitious tribute concert will the first of many they plan to produce in Mexico and other countries.

“We are here to announce the first official concert that our family is planning in honor of my father Juan Gabriel. We have the support of Mexico’s government to produce something of high quality, just like the concerts my father gave us … It will be something very special where people will be able to relive the experience of watching their idol Juan Gabriel.”

In addition to Durcal, the daughter of the late Rocio Durcal, who collaborated with Gabriel several times throughout their music careers, artists set to participate include Juanes, Jesse & Joy, David Bisbal, Natalia Lafourcade and Aída Cuevas, among others. Gustavo Farias will serve as musical producer.

Eternamente Juan Gabriel follows the special tribute that took place back in September in Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes just days after the “Amor eterno” singer passed away in Santa Monica, California at the age of 66 on August 28.

Latin Grammy darlings Jesse & Joy have a special date in Las Vegas…

The Mexican duo, comprised of Jesse Huerta and his sister Joy Huerta, will take the stage at this year’s Latin Grammys.

Jesse & Joy, who received nominations in all three major categories, join a roster of performers that includes Fonseca, Mon Laferte, Manuel Medrano, Gente de Zona, Alexis y Fido, Joss Favela and Wisin.

To kick off the awards ceremony, Latin Grammy and Grammy-winning artist Juanes will team up with the cast of Cirque Du Soleil‘s Mystere and Pablo López for a special performance.

Other Latin superstars set to perform are J Balvin, Banda Los Recoditos, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Farruko featuring Ky-Mani Marley, Laura Pausini, Prince Royce ft. Gerardo Ortiz, Diego Torres ft. Rachel Platten, Carlos Vives and Yandel.

This year’s Latin Grammys, will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on November 17.

The show, to be hosted by Roselyn Sánchez and Sebastian Rulli, will air live on Univision at 8 p.m. ET, with a red carpet special, Noche de Estrellas, airing one hour before the awards show.

Becky G to Perform at Univision & Fusion’s Rise Up as One Concert

Becky G is rising up to the challenge…

The 19-year-old Mexican American singer, songwriter and Power Ranger has joined the star-studded lineup for Univision and Fusion‘s Rise Up as One concert, taking place this weekend along the U.S./Mexico border in San Diego, California.

“We are very happy that the beautiful daughter of immigrants has joined our concert,” reads the tweet with the announcement.

Becky G joins a list of performers that includes Miguel Bosé, Juanes, Jesse & Joy, Lila Downs, Los Tigres del Norte, Luis Coronel, Andra Day, Alejandro Sanz, Julieta Venegas, Lupillo Rivera, Carlos Vives, Fonseca, Natalia Lafourcade, Debi Nova, T Bone Burnett and Jorge Drexler.

The free concert will wrap up the historical event, billed as a celebration of music, diversity and unity, taking place on October 15. It will broadcast live on Univision in Spanish and on Fusion in English at 7:00 pm ET.

Co-chairs to the event include Emilio & Gloria Estefan, Calle 13‘s René Pérez aka Residente, Lin-Manuel Miranda, among others.
