Becky G Appears on Jessie J’s New Single “Excuse My Rude”

Becky G is asking to be excused

The 16-year-old Mexican American singer/rapper has collaborated with Jessie J on the English singer-songwriter’s latest track “Excuse My Rude.”

The brand new song, which was just unveiled this week, will be featured on Jesse J’s upcoming album.

Becky G started her career as an online artist YouTube in 2011. She would go on to be featured on “Oath” by Cher Lloyd, “Wish U Were Here” by Cody Simpson and a remix of “Die Young” by Ke$ha. Becky released her debut single “Becky from the Block” earlier this 2013. The music video, which features a cameo appearance by Jennifer Lopez, was released on April 8, 2013.

Jessie J unveiled the track with a special song lyric music video, which follows “Wild” and “It’s My Party” as the latest song to be unveiled from her follow-up to Who You Are. Jessie J’s second studio album is due next month.

During her set at the Chime for Change Presents: The Sound of Change Live charity concert on Saturday, June 1 at London’s Twickenham Stadium, the 43-year-old Puerto Rican singer/actress brought out Mary J. Blige for a girl power cover of The Beatles‘ classic hit “Come Together.”

The cover was a fitting song for the global concert, which brought together some of the world’s biggest superstars to support the Chime for Change campaign, which was launched by Gucci earlier this year.

“Do you believe that one person can make a change?” yelled Lopez, who wore a black bodysuit with thigh-high boots and a flowing cape for her performance.

“If we all come together we can do amazing things” she added before kicking off the duet.

Other highlights of the show included performances by headliner Beyonce Knowles, Jessie J, Florence and the Machine, John Legend and Rita Ora.

Their combined efforts helped raise funds for the international campaign aimed at bringing awareness for both young and adult women’s empowerment.

Dudamel to Participate in the London 2012 Festival

The London 2012 Summer Olympics may be 37 days away… But, Gustavo Dudamel will be getting people into the Olympic spirit this week.

On Thursday, June 21, the 31-year-old Venezuelan conductor will help kick off the London 2012 Festival, a cultural celebration across Britain tied to the Summer Olympics.

Dudamel, who won a Grammy this year for Best Orchestral Performance, will lead Venezuela’s Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar in a big open-air concert at Scotland’s Stirling Castle during the kick off event, which will include a fireworks display by Lake Windermere in northwest England.

The London 2012 Festival, which runs through September 9, will include 12,000 events and performances across the United Kingdom in celebration of the Summer and Paralympic Games. Organizers say there will be 10 million tickets for free and paid-for events in such fields as film, music, theater, fashion, dance and art.

Musical stars, including Jay-Z, Rihanna, David Guetta and Elton John, films from the likes of Alfred Hitchcock and Mike Leigh and art from Yoko Ono and others will all be part of the festival, which is being described as “the biggest festival the U.K. has ever seen.”

With a budget of around £55 million ($86 million), the celebration is seen as a chance to showcase Britain’s cultural heritage and get the country in the Olympic spirit.

One of the most star-studded events of the London 2012 Festival will be a BBC Radio 1 show being dubbed the “biggest-ever free live music event.” The lineup for the June 23 and 24 extravaganza, which will feature six stages in the Hackney Marshes area of East London, includes Jay-Z, Rihanna, Flo Rida, David Guetta, Jessie J, Lana del Rey, Leona Lewis, Florence and the Machine and more.

Gomez Going Global!

She’s already conquered America… And Selena Gomez is now one step closer to becoming a genuine international star.

MTV has tapped the 19-year-old Mexican-American singer/actress as the “hostess with the mostest” at this year’s MTV Europe Awards, the cable network’s global celebration of the year’s best music.

“I’m so excited to be the host of the 2011 MTV EMAs–it’s a dream come true,” professes Gomez. “This is such a huge event that always recognizes the biggest stars in music from across the globe, so it’s a real honor to be MC at this year’s show.”

As the official mistress of ceremonies, Gomez will oversee all of the evening’s onstage exploits, performances, winners and important moments. She’ll also Tweet live during the show, as well as offer unique commentary on mtvema.com.

Among this year’s EMA Nominees, Lady Gaga leads the pack with six nods, with part-Latino Bruno Mars and Katy Perry close behind with four nominations. Adele, Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds to Mars are each up for three awards.

Other EMA nominees include Latina superstar Jennifer Lopez, Foo Fighters, LMFAO, Jessie J, Beyonce and Coldplay

The 18th annual MTV Europe Awards will take place at Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Ireland on November 6.
