HBO Releases First Full Trailer for Oscar Isaac’s Limited Series “Scenes from a Marriage”

Here’s a look at Oscar Isaac’s Marriage

HBO has released the first full trailer for the 42-year-old Guatemalan & Cuban actor’s HBO limited series Scenes from a Marriage.

Oscar Isaac x Jessica Chastain, Scenes from a Marriage

The clip opens with Isaac’s co-star Jessica Chastain climbing into bed, with body language telling a story. Before she can speak, he asks, “What is it?”

The series, which will premiere on Sunday, September 12, is adapted from Ingmar Bergman’s 1973 Swedish miniseries. It re-examines its iconic depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.

Chastain plays Mira, a confident, ambitious tech executive left unfulfilled by her marriage. Isaac is Jonathan, a cerebral and accommodating philosophy professor desperate to keep their relationship intact.

The five-part Scenes from a Marriage addresses the complexity of Jonathan and Mira as individuals who ultimately know their marriage isn’t being ripped apart by any one event or flaw.

Viewers will eavesdrop on private conversations between two people torn between feelings of hate and love.

“You just believe that, as a couple, nothing can hurt you,” we hear Mira say. “And then you gradually start to realize that actually, anything can hurt you.”

Sunita Mani, Nicole Beharie, Corey Stoll and Tovah Feldshuh co-star.

The limited series from Media Res and Endeavor Content reunites Chastain and Isaac, who were classmates at Julliard, are longtime friends and starred together in 2014’s A Most Violent Year.

Both also executive produce, along with Hagai Levi and Michael Ellenberg via Media Res, Lars Blomgren, Daniel Bergman, Blair Breard and Amy Herzog.

Oscar Isaac In Negotiations to Star as Title Character in Marvel & Disney+’s Comic Book-Based Series “Moon Knight”

Oscar Isaac is a (Moon) Knight in shining armor…

The 41-year-old Guatemalan & Cuban actor is in talks to star as the title character in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s comic book hero Moon Knight, the Marvel and Disney+ series based on the comic.

Oscar Isaac

Jeremy Slater, who developed and wrote Netflix’s series adaptation of The Umbrella Academy comic books, has been tapped to develop and lead the writing team on the series for the streamer.

Moon Knight, aka Marc Spector, is a mercenary who has numerous alter egos — cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant — in order to better fight the criminal underworld. But later he was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Most recently, the character was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight.

Marvel and Disney+ now will look to attach a director to the series. No production start date has been set. Marvel had no comment.

Marvel and Disney+ have been ramping up their development slate as Isaac joins Tatiana Maslany, who was recently tapped to play She-Hulk, and Iman Vellani, who was named the new Ms. Marvel. As WandaVision, eyes a premiere date before the end of the year, the studios are looking to have a strong set of characters to lead these new tentpole series.

With his time as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars franchise coming to an end, Isaac is not slowing down any time soon. When audiences head back to theaters, he has a number of films set to bow that include the Paul Schrader thriller The Card Counter as well as Denis Villeneuve’s retelling of Dune.

He recently signed on to the HBO limited series Scenes from a Marriage at HBO, reuniting with his old Julliard classmate Jessica Chastain.

Edward James Olmos Developing Several Projects on the Life & Work of Tito Puente

Edward James Olmos is celebrating a Latin music legend.

The 73-year-old Mexican American actor, director, producer, and activist has teamed up with Tito Puente’s familia to bring the story of the legendary Puerto Rican musician to the world in a series of projects, including film, television and VR content.

Edward James Olmos

Known as the “King of Mambo,” Puente was a six-time Grammy winner, and received many other accolades before he died in 2000.

Olmos is working with Puente’s son, Tito Puente Jr., producer/writer Damon Whitaker, music artist/producer David Guzman, and his own son, director/producer Michael D. Olmos, to bring the projects to life.

The Olmos team will be producing the project alongside Whitaker and Guzman, with Tito Jr. advising throughout the process.

The team is developing a docuseries featuring never-before-seen images and footage from the family’s estate to create a feature film that focuses on Puente’s struggle to bring Latin music to the mainstream.

A VR musical experience and a tribute album with contemporary artists covering classic Tito Puente songs are also on the pipeline.

“We are thrilled to finally have the story of Tito Puente come to life, thanks to the vision of Mr. Olmos and his team. The history of Tito Puente through his extensive career and timeless music will be told and shared with fans of all generations young and old,” said Tito Puente Jr. “We hope to inspire audiences around the world with his story and his rich musical legacy. Eddie is a huge fan of my dad’s music and was the one who gave the eulogy at my dad’s funeral.”

Born in the barrios of New York City, Puente served in the military and went to Juilliard on the G.I. Bill, and fought for the rights of his fellow Afro Latin and African American musicians to play alongside him in segregated clubs.

“This will be the greatest Tito Puente experience ever. I want this story to celebrate life and hope, especially in these dark times,” said Olmos. “Tito’s story is timeless because it shows the entire world that you can start from humble beginnings, but through your passion, discipline and hard work — and a great sense of humor — you can still change the world.”

Olmos is best known for his television roles on Miami ViceBattlestar Galactica and Mayans MC, and his film roles in Stand and Deliver, American Me and Selena.

Isabel Arraiza to Star in Crackle’s Drama Series “The Oath”

Isabel Arraiza is taking an oath

The Latina actress, a Hollywood newcomer, has been cast in a recurring role opposite Sean Bean in Crackle’s upcoming drama series The Oath, executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Power) and his G-Unit Film & Television.

Isabel Arraiza

Written and created by former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-O, Secrets and Lies), the 10-episode original series explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend and sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join. Only a select few make the cut – but once inside, members will do what they must to protect one another from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks.

Arraiza will play Lourdes, the daughter of prominent Cartel lawyer Victor Moreno. She spent much of her life distancing herself from the criminal underworld she was born into. When she finds out her husband, detective Pete Ramos, is a member of the Ravens she must decide if she can walk away from her marriage to spare her daughter from the dangerous upbringing she had.

Arraiza, a recent Juilliard grad, also is set to play John DeLorean’s wife Christina Ferrara in indie feature Driven.
