Melanie Martinez Among Headlining Acts for This Year’s Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago

Melanie Martinez is headed to the Windy City

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American singer and former The Voice contestant will be among the headlining acts at this summer’s Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.

Among the 170 acts that will perform on eight stages includes Deftones, Tate McRae, Laufey with the Chicago Philharmonic, Reneé Rapp, Lizzy McAlpine, Zedd, Fisher, Zeds Dead, Dominic Fike, Labrinth, Pierce the Veil, Victoria Monét, Sexyy Red, Teddy Swims, Faye Webster, Benson Boone, Jungle, Two Door Cinema Club, Killer Mike, Ive, Vince Staples, Kesha, Galantis, Kevin Abstract, Ethel Cain, Chappell Roan, Megan Mornoey, Teezo Touchdown and many more.

Fans can sign up now for the 2024 presale, which will kick off on Thursday (March 21) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm ET; the presale is the only way to guarantee the lowest price on 4-day general admission, GA+, VIP and Platinum tickets. Last summer’s event featured headlining sets from Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kendrick Lamar, Odesza, Karol G, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and The 1975.

The four-day extravaganza that sets up in Grant Park in downtown Chicago draws more than 400,000 fans to the massive party near Lake Michigan.

Peso Pluma Among Headliners for Next Year’s Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival

Peso Pluma is heading to Monterrey for a special performance next spring…

The 24-year-old Mexican Regional Mexican artist is among the headliners for the next edition of the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival, which has announced the extensive list of international stars that will take the stage the weekend of March 29-31.

As it does every year, Fundidora Park in Monterrey, Nuevo León, in northern Mexico, will host one of the most highly anticipated musical events, where attendees can enjoy genres such as rock, pop, hip-hop and regional Mexican music. 

The first day will feature artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Peso Pluma, Keane, Aleman, Bad Religion, Belanova, Aterciopelados, Bomba Estéreo, Chencho Corleone, Deorro, Los Estrambóticos, Aitana and a large number of emerging groups.

The second day will highlight Blink-182, Louis Tomlinson, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Anitta, Danna Paola, Danny Ocean, Gabito Ballesteros, Latin Mafia, Sum 41, Yng Lvcas, Humbe, Young the Giant, R3hab, Justin Morales and many more.

The last day of the festival will feature Maná, Imagine Dragons, Placebo, Fuerza Regida, Los Enanitos Verdes, Enjambre, Kenia Os, Santa Fe Klan, Álvaro Díaz, Jay de la Cueva, Oscar Maydón, Kinky, The Warning and The Blessed Madonna, in addition to a variety of up-and-coming artists.

Created in 2012 by the entertainment company Apodaca Group, based in Monterrey, Tecate Pa’l Norte was created with the local public in mind, which had to travel to Mexico City to attend these types of musical events. Music, art, gastronomy and northern traditions come together in Tecate Pa’l Norte, considered one of the most important festivals in the country along with Vive Latino and Corona Capital, held in Mexico City by Ocesa.

Cardi B Leads Pack of BET Hip Hop Awards Nominees with 12

Cardi B is one of this year’s hip hop artists to beat…

The 30-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar and 21 Savage are the leading nominees for the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards with 12 nominations each.

Cardi BThe two artists are going head-to-head in seven categories – best collaboration, lyricist of the year, hip-hop artist of the year, hustler of the year, best hip-hop video, sweet 16: best featured verse and song of the year.

Drake is next in line with nine nods. He is followed on the leaderboard by Burna Boy and DJ Khaled with seven nods each; J. Cole with six nods; Coi Leray, GloRilla and Jay-Z with five nods each; Lil Uzi Vert with four; and DaBaby, Kendrick Lamar, Latto, Lil Durk, Megan Thee Stallion and Metro Boomin with three nods each.

Meanwhile, Ice Spice has picked up two nods.

The 23-year-old half-Dominican American rapper is up for Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist and Best Collaboration for “Princess Diana,” her track with Nicki Minaj.

Five women rappers rank among the most nominated, with Cardi B followed by Leray, GloRilla, Latto and Megan Thee Stallion.

The show will tape in Atlanta on Tuesday, October 3, and will premiere on BET one week later, on Tuesday, October 10, at 9:00 pm ET/PT.

“This year’s BET Hip Hop Awards will mark the culmination of our yearlong celebration of hip-hop’s storied creation and the art form’s sonic and cultural expansion,” Connie Orlando, BET’s EVP specials, music programming & music strategy, said in a statement. “We are honored by this year’s roster of nominees as they continue to carry the creativity and diversity of hip hop into the future. We congratulate each nominee on their accomplishments as they take hip hop artistry to new heights.”

BET promises that “the telecast will salute 50 years of hip-hop with not-to-be-missed moments and performances.”

Fans can start voting for DJ of the year, producer of the year, and best hip hop platform on Tuesday, September 12, at noon ET on the BET website, where more information about the awards is also available.

Fabolous to Perform at Atlanta’s ONE Musicfest 2023 This October

Fabolous is ready to become ONE with Atlanta…

The 45-year-old Afro-Dominican American rapper will perform at this year’s ONE Musicfest 2023.

FabolousThe festival, presented in partnership with Live Nation Urban, will take place October 28-29 at Piedmont Park in Atlanta.

Fabolous is part of a lineup that includes El Debarge, Jadakiss, Bryson Tiller and The-Dream.

Kendrick Lamar, Janet Jackson, Brent Faiyaz and Megan Thee Stallion will headline the festival.

Among the additional performers who will be featured during the two-day concert are Tems, Kodak Black, Coi Leray, Coco Jones, and Jozzy along with surprise special guests.

There will also be a special salute to the 50th  anniversary of hip-hop. Helming that celebration will be Nelly, KRS-One, Killer Mike, 8Ball & MJG, DJ Quik, DJ Drama,

But Cardi B isn’t the only Latinx artist being recognized…

Ice Spice has earned four nods.

The 23-year-old half-Dominican rapper is nominated for Best New Artist and Best Female Hip Hop Artist, as well as Best Collaboration and Bet Her for her Pinkpantheress-collaboration “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2.”

Meanwhile, Mariah Carey has earned a nod.

The 54-year-old half-Venezuelan Grammy-winning singer, a four-time BET Awards nominee, is up for Best Collaboration

Celebrating creative expression and Black excellence across music, television, film, and sports, the 23rd BET Awards will be handed out on Sunday, June 25.

Kali Uchis to Perform at This Year’s Austin City Limits Festival

The 28-year-old half-Colombian American singer/songwriter has been added to this fall’s Austin City Limits lineup.

Kali UchisThe 22nd annual event at Austin’s Zilker Park will take place over two weekends — October 6-8 and October 13-15 — and also feature performances from Hozier, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Maggie Rogers, Labrinth, Cigarettes After Sex, Niall Horan, Tove Lo and Thirty Seconds to Mars, among others.

In a release announcing the nine-stage fest, organizers noted that this year’s diverse lineup includes 45% female performers, LGBTQ+ artists, allies and icons as well as a number of Latin stars, including Ivan Cornejo, Kevin Knaarl, Eddie Zuko and others.

Three-day tickets for both weekends are on sale here with layaway plans available starting at $25 down and, new for this year, a promise of no surprise fees at checkout.

One-day general admission tickets, one-day Ga+ tickets and one-day tickets will be available at a later date. GA ticket holders will have a new experience this year, with premium cocktails for sale on bar menus throughout the festival and GA+ tickets including a full-service bar with preferred pricing for all beer, seltzers, wine and cocktails.

ACL’s focus on homegrown Texas talent will continue this year, with acts including The Mars Volta, Tanya Tucker, Ben Kweller, d4dv, Jimmy Vaughn, Asleep at the Wheel, Penny & Sparrow, Randall King, Abraham Alexander, Angel White, BigXThaPlug and many more.

Hulu will be back as the official streaming partner for the fest, with three days of select live performances, interviews and more available during weekend one; a full broadcast lineup and schedule will be announced at a later date.

Omar Apollo to Perform at This Year’s Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas

The 25-year-old Mexican American singer and songwriter will perform at this year’s Life is Beautiful festival in Downtown Las Vegas.

Omar Apollo,The star-studded lineup for its 10th anniversary installment includes headliners Kendrick LamarThe Killers, ODESZA and Flume. 

The three-day event will take place from September 22 to 24, and will also feature a number of newcomers, set to take the Life Is Beautiful stage for the first time, including Khalid, The 1975, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Apollo, Kim Petras and more.

Additionally, the festival will honor the iconic entertainment of Sin City with performances and appearances from Vegas headliners including Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Jabbawockeez, Magic Mike Live, Piff the Magic Dragon and Tape Face.

“This year’s lineup is a reflection of the 10 years we’ve spent striving to give fans incredible experiences, centered around a weekend of revelry in Las Vegas,” said Craig Asher Nyman, director of music, programming and development for Life is Beautiful. “They asked, and we listened! Our fans are the heartbeat of this festival, and it’s our intention to deliver a festival that is a true representation of their interests.”

General Admission passes start at $380. Life is Beautiful has also added an all-new GA+ ticket tiers, which gives fans express festival entry, a private GA+ lounge with food and beverage offerings and air conditioned restrooms.

Karol G to Perform at Lollapalooza 2023 in Chicago’s Grant Park

The 32-year-old Colombian superstar will be among the top-lining acts for Lollapalooza 2023, which is set for August 3-6 in Chicago’s Grant Park.

Karol GHeadliners include Kendrick LamarBillie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers, while other top-liners include Odesza, Lana Del Rey, The 1975 and Tomorrow x Together.

Tickets for this year’s concert weekend go on sale beginning Thursday. Four-day tickets will run $365-$4350, with single-day tickets and the day-by-day lineup schedule still to be announced.

Other Latin acts set to perform at Lollapalooza 2023 include Jessie Reyez, Usted Señalemelo and Los Aptos.

In all, more than 170 bands will play across nine stages.

Hulu is in the middle of a deal to livestream select Lollapalooza performances exclusively to its SVOD subscribers; last year, it had two streams running.

Cardi B to Serve as Presenter at This Year’s Grammy Awards Show

Cardi B is taking the stage on music’s biggest night…

The 30-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar will help hand out awards at the 65th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 5.

Cardi BPreviously, Cardi B made Grammy history as the first and only woman to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album as a solo artist was the second female rapper to have her album nominated for Album of the Year.

Other presenters include Viola Davis, Olivia Rodrigo, Shania Twain and Dwayne Johnson. Davis will become an EGOT if she wins in her category, best audio book, narration, and storytelling recording, on Sunday.

Performers set to appear on the show are Harry Styles, Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy and Sam Smith & Kim Petras.

The Recording Academy made its first performers announcement a week ago. It added a big name – Styles – on Sunday, January 29. The announcement was made during the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs. The game aired on CBS, the Grammys’ network since 1973.

Three of this year’s four leading nominees – Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and Adele – have yet to be announced as performers. But the Academy is expected to announce additional performers in the remaining days before the big show.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be hosted for the third year in a row by Emmy-winning comedian Trevor Noah.

The show will be broadcast live on Sunday, February 5, at 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT on CBS, and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards are produced by Fulwell 73 Productions for the Recording Academy. Raj Kapoor serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Ben Winston and Jesse Collins as executive producers. Phil Heyes joins the team for the first time as director. Eric Cook is co-executive producer with Tabitha Dumo, Tiana Gandelman, Patrick Menton, David Wild as producers.

Prior to the telecast, the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 pm PT, and it will be streamed live on live.Grammy.com. Randy Rainbow, a first-time Grammy nominee this year for best comedy album for A Little Brains, A Little Talent, is co-hosting the show. His co-host has yet to be named.

Performers at the Premiere Ceremony include Arroj Aftab, Madison Cunningham, Samara Joy, Anoushka Shankar, Carlos Vives and The Blind Boys of Alabama with La Santa Cecilia.
