Pedro Pascal to Star in Ari Aster’s Latest Film “Eddington”

Pedro Pascal is going west(ern) once again…

The 48-year-old Chilean actor, who recently won his first SAG Award, will star in Ari Aster’s latest film Eddington.

Pedro PascalPascal, who recently starred in Pedro Almodovar’s Spanish Western drama short film Strange Way of Life, will star opposite Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Austin Butler, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward and Clifton Collins Jr. in the project.

Aster is the visionary filmmaker behind the horror films Hereditary and Midsommar, as well as the dark comedy Beau Is Afraid.

Plot details are under wraps, though the project has been discussed as a Western.

Aster will direct from his own script and produce alongside Lars Knudsen under their Square Peg banner. Darius Khondji, the Academy Award-winning cinematographer behind Bardo and Uncut Gems, is also aboard the project for his first collaboration with Aster.

Production on the film kicks off this week.

Pascal’s credits include The Last of Us, Narcos and The Mandalorian.

Trailer Released for Jessica Alba’s Dark Comedy “El Camino Christmas”

It’s a special Christmas for Jessica Alba

The 36-year-old half-Mexican American actress is starring the dark comedy El Camino Christmas.

Directed by Dave Talbert, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Alba, Luke Grimes, Tim AllenDax Shepard and Vincent D’Onofrio.

It’s also the next film from Hidden Figures filmmaker Ted Melfi. The Netflix film will start streaming on December 8.

The project, 10 years in the making, was produced by Melfi and scripted by him and Chris Wehner.

The story follows a young man (Grimes) who seeks out a father he has never met and, through no fault of his own, ends up barricaded in a liquor store with five other people on Christmas Eve. The story takes place in the fictitious town of El Camino, Nevada.

Alba’s latest project follows her appearances in the films Mechanic: Resurrection and The Veil.

Rasuk to Star in “Fifty Shades of Grey” Film Adaptation

Prepare for fifty shades of Victor Rasuk

The 29-year-old Dominican American actor has been added to the ensemble cast of Fifty Shades of Grey, the film adaptation of the hit novel of the same name.

Rasuk, the former star of HBO’s How to Make It in America, will portray Jose Rodriquez, an aspiring photographer and Anastasia Steele’s classmate. His close relationship with the co-ed pits him against Christian Grey.

Jamie Dornan will play the bondage enthusiast Christian, replacing Charlie Hunnam who abruptly left the project earlier this year. Dakota Johnson will portray the college student Anastasia, Jennifer Ehle stars as her on-screen mother and Luke Grimes as Christian’s brother Elliot.

The filming was supposed to kick off in November but has been pushed to December, just eight months before the planned August 1, 2014 release date, as the script is being polished by The Wolverine scribe Mark Bomback.

Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct the film.

Rasuk had a breakout performance as the lead in Peter Sollett‘s 2002 indie Raising Victor Vargas and then went on to play a skateboarding pioneer in Catherine Hardwicke‘s 2005 Lords of Dogtown. He has also appeared in Steven Soderbergh‘s The Argentine and most recently in the Steve Jobs biopic jOBS.

He will next star in Godzilla long with Taylor-Johnson’s husband Aaron Johnson.
