Tony Revolori to Star in “Scream 6”

The 26-year-old Guatemalan American actor and Samara Weaving have been added to the cast of Scream 6.

Tony Revolori Revolori and Weaving join an ensemble cast that includes Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega, who toplined the fifth film in the franchise, along with Hayden Panettiere, Courteney Cox, Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra and Henry Czerny.

The next installment in the horror franchise from Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures will pick up with Sam (Barrera), Mindy (Brown), Chad (Gooding) and Tara (Ortega)—four survivors of the most recent batch of Ghostface killings—as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Details as to the characters Weaving and Revolori will be playing have not been disclosed.

Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who helmed the last Scream film, return as directors. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-wrote the screenplay.

Revolori is best known for his collaboration with Wes Anderson on films like The Grand BudapestThe French Dispatch and the upcoming Asteroid City, and for his role as Flash Thompson in the most recent trilogy of Spider-Man films.

He stars in the Apple series Servant and will soon be seen in the Disney+ series Willow.

Josh Segarra to Star in Next Installment of “Scream”

Josh Segarra is screaming with excitement.

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican actor and Arrow alum will star in the next installment of Paramount and Spyglass Media’s Scream.

Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega will reprise their roles after making their first appearance in the most recent sequel, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett returning to direct.

Hayden Panettiere is returning to reprise her role from a previous installment and Dermot Mulroney is also on board.

The new outing is due to shoot this summer and follows the bloody success of the fifth installment, released in January, which grossed more than $81 million domestically and $140 million worldwide.

Plot details are being kept under wraps outside of it following the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

The film will be released on March 31, 2023.

James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are penning the script. Vanderbilt will also produce along with his Project X Entertainment partners Paul Neinstein and William Sherak.

Original Scream scribe Kevin Williamson and the third member of Radio Silence, Chad Villella, are executive producing alongside Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad and Marianne Maddalena.

Melissa Barrera Officially Confirmed for Return to “Scream” Reboot Sequel

There are more screams in Melissa Barrera’s future.

Spyglass Media and Paramount have officially confirmed that the 31-year-old Mexican actress and singer will be returning for the Scream sequel, with directors Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) returning and James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-writing the screenplay.

Cameras will begin rolling early this summer for a theatrical release around the world on March 31, 2023.

After celebrating the franchise’s 25th Anniversary, the latest Scream earned a “Certified Fresh” score from Rotten Tomatoes and went on to gross more than $140 million at the global box office; part of Paramount’s proof that there’s appetite among moviegoers for lower budget as we come out of this pandemic.

Also starring in the movie were Kyle Gallner, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Sonia Ammar with original franchise members Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell.

The film is available now on digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray and is currently streaming on Paramount +.

Through five movies the Scream series counts over $744M at the worldwide box office.

The new season finds a newly out of the closet Victor (Cimino) entering his junior year at Creekwood High — a new chapter that brings with it new challenges. As he navigates his romance with Benji, Victor juggles a family struggling with his coming-out, his heartbroken ex-girlfriend Mia, and the difficulties of being an openly gay star athlete.

Rachel Hilson, Anthony Turpel, Bebe Wood, Mason Gooding, George Sear, Isabella Ferreira, Mateo Fernandez, James Martinez and Ana Ortiz also star.

Love, Simon original writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger serve as executive producers alongside Brian Tanen, Jason Ensler, Isaac Klausner, Marty Bowen, Adam Fishbach, Wyck Godfrey, Pouya Shahbazian and Adam Londy.

Season 2 premieres on June 11 with all episodes on Hulu.

Love, Victor will release all 10 episodes of its second season on Friday, June 11.

The series picks up with a newly out-of-the-closet Victor (Cimino) entering his junior year at Creekwood High. Ana Ortiz, James Martinez, Isabella Ferreira, Mateo Fernandez, Rachel Naomi Hilson, George Sear, Bebe Wood, Anthony Turpel and Mason Gooding also star.

Gina Rodriguez to Star in Amazon Studios’ Romantic Comedy “I Want You Back”

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican actress and Golden Globe winner has been cast in the ensemble romantic comedy I Want You Back from Amazon Studios.

The former Jane The Virgin star joins a cast that includes Charlie DayJenny SlateScott Eastwood, Manny Jacinto and Clark Backo.

Jason Orley is attached to direct the film from a screenplay by Love, Simon co-writers and This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

Jami Gertz, Jordan Carlos, Midori Francis, Mason Gooding, Isabel May, and Luke David Blumm round out the cast as production is slated to commence next month in Atlanta.

The film follows Emma (Slate) and Peter (Day) who thought they were on the precipice of life’s biggest moments – marriage, kids, and houses in the suburbs – until their respective partners dumped them. In their thirties and terrified that they have missed their shot at happily ever after, Emma and Peter are horrified to learn that their partners have already moved on. With no prospects on the horizon and the threat of dying alone hanging over their heads, they hatch a desperate plan to put an end to their exes’ new relationships and win them back.

Orley, who will mark his second directorial outing, said “I immediately fell in love with Isaac and Elizabeth’s funny, heartfelt script and I am so honored that they, along with the amazing team at Amazon are allowing me to bring their timeless love story to life and that I get to do it with such an incredible group of actors.”

Rodriguez’s previous credits include Kajillionaire, Smallfoot, and Deepwater Horizon.

Hulu has ordered a second season of its breakout new series Love, Victor, starring the 20-year-old half-Puerto Rican actor.

The series, an offshoot of the 2018 feature Love, Simon, ranked as the No. 1 most-watched drama on Hulu during its premiere week in June when all episodes were released together.

The series hails from This Is Usexecutive producers/co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who wrote the movie based on Becky Albertalli’s young adult novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.

Love, Victor migrated to Hulu after being originally developed at Disney+.

The first season followed Victor (Cimino), a new student at Creekwood High School, on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city and exploring his sexual orientation. As Victor and his friends mature, so will season two, promising to build on these themes of sexual identity, acceptance and navigating the odyssey we all know as high school.

In addition to Cimino, the series also stars Ana Ortiz, James Martinez, Isabella Ferreira, Mateo Fernandez, Rachel Naomi Hilson, Bebe Wood, George Sear, Anthony Turpel and Mason Gooding.

The half-Puerto Rican actor Cimino has been cast as Victor in Disney Plus television series adaptation of the film Love, Simon.

Cimino’s character Victor is a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.

Cimino joins previously announced cast member Ana Ortiz, who will play Victor’s mother Isabel. Nick Robinson, who starred in the film, will narrate the half-hour series in addition to serving as producer.

The cast will also include: James Martinezas Armando, Victor’s regular blue collar “guy’s guy” father who loves his family deeply and works hard for his family; Isabella Ferreiraas Pilar, Victor’s sullen younger sister in the throes of teenage angst; Mateo Fernandezwill make his acting debut as Adrian, Victor’s adorable, good-natured little brother; Johnny Sequoyahas Mia, Victor’s whip-smart friend with a quick wit and easy laugh; Bebe Woodas Lake, Mia’s quirky and social media-obsessed best friend; George Searas Benji, Victor’s confident and charming classmate; Anthony Turpelas Felix, Victor’s lanky, awkward new neighbor; and Mason Goodingas Andrew, Creekwood’s cocky and popular basketball-loving jock.

Cimino’s previous credits include the film Annabelle Comes Homeand the Training Daytelevision series at CBS.

The series is set to begin production this month in Los Angeles.

He’s not involved in the TV adaptation because of his massive overall TV deal with Warner Bros.The film, produced by the now-shuttered label Fox 2000, was produced for $17 million, earning nearly $67 million worldwide.
