Banda Los Sebastianes de Saúl Plata Earn Fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay Chart with “Modo Incógnito”

The Mexican band has scored its fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Modo Incógnito” rises 3-1 on the April 30-dated survey.

Banda Los Sebastianes de Saúl Plata“Modo Incógnito” lands at No. 1 with a 9% boost in audience impressions, to 5.68 million earned in the week ending April 24, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data.

The track is composed by Horacio Palencia and is one of 18 tracks that belong to the deluxe version of the album Sin Miedo Al Exito, which has not entered the charts. The set’s title track, however, preceded “Modo Incógnito” atop the chart for one week in July 2021.

“Modo Incógnito” earns the Sinaloans their fifth champ among a collection of 16 career entries. The cut reaches No. 1 in its 11th week on the list — tying with “Mi Meta Contigo” (2019) as the fastest rise to No. 1 for the group.

Banda Los Sebastianes isn’t afraid of success… And, they’re proving it.

The Mexican group has taken over the top spot on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Sin Miedo Al Éxito” rises to No. 1 on the July 17-dated list after three consecutive weeks in the runner-up slot.

Banda Los Sebastianes ascends with 6.6 million in audience impressions, up 8%, earned in the week ending July 8, according to MRC Data.

“Sin Miedo Al Éxito” is the Mazatlán group’s fourth No. 1, dating back to just two years ago when “Através del Vaso” led the 1994-launched tally (dated February 2019) for six consecutive weeks. Since then, the band has placed two other No. 1s: “Mi Meta Contigo” (six weeks, November-December 2019) and “En Eso No Quedamos” (two weeks, July 2020).

Elsewhere on the Latin charts, “Sin Miedo” pushes up the all-genre Latin Airplay chart, jumping 7-6. It’s the closest to the lead since “Mi Meta Contigo” notched a No. 2 high in 2019.

Over on the all-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, “Sin Miedo” lifts 47-46.

Make that two in a row for Banda Los Sebastianes…

The Mexican band has earned their third No. 1, and second in a row, on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “En Eso No Quedamos” rises 2-1 on the survey dated July 4.

“En Eso No Quedamos” follows the six-week reign of the group’s “Mi Meta Contigo” in November.

Banda Los Sebastianesfirst led the Regional Mexican Airplay chart for six weeks with its longest-charting title “A Través del Vaso” (39 weeks on the chart) in February 16, 2019, over three years after the band’s first entry on the chart, “Indeleble” (No. 39, Sept. 2015). 

“En Eso No Quedamos” rules the roost with a 13% boost in audience impressions (to 6.2 million) earned in the week ending June 28, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

With a 19-week climb to No. 1, “En Eso No Quedamos” ties for slowest rise to No. 1 on the list in 2020. Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga also took a 19-week journey to the top with “No Elegí Conocerte” on the February 15-dated list. (

Concurrently, the new song lifts 13-12 on the overall Latin Airplay chart.

“En Eso No Quedamos” is the second single off Banda Los Sebastianes’ 2018 album En Vida, which launched in the top 20 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart.
