Smalls Goes Topless for V Magazine

She’s one of the modeling world’s top models… But Joan Smalls is just topless for her latest magazine cover.

The 26-year-old fashion model, ranked as the No. 1 model in the world according to models.com since September 2012, went topless for V Magazine‘s Model Mania issue, which is out on July 17.

On the cover, Smalls wears nothing but a pair of grey pants with her hand strategically covering her breasts while she touches Sean O’Pry‘s neck.

The Model Mania issue, which consists of 46 pages, features eight of the world’s hottest models, including Amanda Murphy, Emily DiDonato, Matthew Terry, and Aurelien Muller.

The photos in the magazine were shot by fashion photographer, Mario Testino. The outfits of the models were sponsored by Givenchy, Prada, Fendi, Michael Kors, Balmain, Tom Ford, Proenza Schouler, Gucci and Chanel.

Joan, who has appeared in many high-end magazine covers, has achieved an impressive modeling career, including the top spot on models.com Top 50 Models roundup. She also ranked eighth on Forbes‘ list of The World’s Highest Paid Models in 2013.

Joan, who made an appearance on Beyonce Knowles‘ music video “Yonce“, has been the first Puerto Rican model who was chosen to front the campaigns of famous brands like Gucci, Fendi and Givenchy. She also became the first Latina face for Estee Lauder.

Carey Pens & Performs “Bring It On Home” for President Obama

Mariah Carey didn’t just host a fundraiser for President Barack Obama recently… She also performed a new song that she wrote in his honor.

During the star-studded event at New York City’s Plaza Hotel on Thursday night, the 42-year-old part-Venezuelan singer performed “Bring It On Home,” a triumphantly inspirational ballad, similar to Carey’s hit “Hero.”

“Just finished performing Hero, We Belong Together and BRING IT ON HOME — a song I wrote especially for the event,” Carey tweeted, posting a photo of herself in a black ball gown.

Before the Plaza party, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attended Sarah Jessica Parker‘s presidential fundraiser at the actress’ Manhattan home.

Meryl Streep, Project Runway judge Michael Kors, Vogue‘s Anna Wintour and Bravo‘s Andy Cohen were among the celebrities in attendance.

Parker introduced Obama at the event, giving him a hug and kiss and saying those in attendance were gathered “hopefully, with enormous enthusiasm.” She also called Michelle Obama “radiant and extraordinary” and said she had been doing “amazingly important things these last four years.”

It’s no wonder they call it the “Oscars of the East Coast”… The Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Institute Gala may celebrate the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum‘s fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute… But it’s also the place to see Hollywood’s brightest stars dressed to impress in some of the season’s hautest gowns.

Hosted by Vogue, this year’s event proved to be another high-style affair, with several Latina starlets stealing the spotlight on the red carpet.

The 30-year-old half-Mexican American actress shined brighter than the sun in a gold lame one-shoulder goddess gown from Michael Kors’ Resort 2012 collection.

Much like Alba, Camilla Belle embraced this season’s metallic trend by donning a stunning Ralph Lauren Collection tulle-and-beaded dress in liquid gold. The 25-year-old half-Brazilian American actress accessorized the bold low-cut number with champagne-hued Ralph Lauren Collection sandals, Ralph Lauren Vintage Collection gems and dark red lipstick.

The 39-year-old actress of Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban descent—who will be portray Dolores Huerta, the co-founder of the UFW in a film about Latino labor leader Cesar Chavez—flaunted her taut figure in a skin-tight black leather Calvin Klein creation, which she accentuated with bright blue earrings.

There’s nothing blue about Glee star Lea Michele’s navy blue Diane von Furstenberg with a high-slit and plunging neckline. The 25-year-old part-Spanish actress/singer—who was the best-dressed Latina at this year’s SAG Awards—paired her daring sequined gown with a Diane von Furstenberg clutch and Christian Louboutin shoes and a tassel necklace and other diamond jewels by Lorraine Schwartz.

The 38-year-old Cuban-American actress wore a Prada tangerine silk strapless peplum dress with whimsical embroidery. Mendes paired the dress with a Prada clutch and Fred Leighton jewels.

The 39-year-old Cuban American actress wore a snug, long-sleeved Stella McCartney golden gown with dramatic draped back. Diaz paired the dazzling dress with a coordinating gold metal clutch, also by the designer.

Luna: The First “Project Runway” Champion?

He’s been the standout contestant on “Project Runway” this season…  And now Viktor Luna could be the first Latino to win the reality competition.

During Thursday’s “Finale Part 1” episode, judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia gave the 30-year-old Guadalajara, Mexico-born designer, along with fellow contestants Anya Ayoung-Chee, Joshua McKinley and Kimberly Goldson, five weeks and $9,000 to create their collections.

Luna’s collection featured an eye-catching white leather jacket with pearls down the sleeves, as well as several pieces featuring an abstract print that he created using photographs he’d taken in Mexico, where he grew up.

After showing a three-piece mini-collection of their favorite looks, Luna’s collection seemed to fare best with the judges. But in the end, all four finalists were sent through to compete at New York City Fashion Week.

So, after winning two challenges and receiving high-praise on his final collection, it looks like Luna—a third generation seamster who learned about construction and tailoring from his mother—may have the inside track to taking sewing up the title of “Project Runway” Champion and making history as the first Latino winner.

This week’s final episode of “Project Runway” will air on Thursday on Lifetime at 9:00 pm ET.
