J Balvin is sinking his teeth into the Latin charts…

The 38-year-old Colombian musica urbana singer/songwriter has added a record-extending 36th No. 1 to his Billboard Latin Airplay account as his latest single “Dientes,” with Usher and DJ Khaled, climbs 9-1 on the November 4-dated ranking. Usher and Khaled add their second leader.

J Balvin, Dientes“Dientes” becomes the Greatest Gainer of the week with 11 million audience impressions, up 51%, earned in the U.S. during the October 20-26 tracking week, according to Luminate.

With “Dientes,” J Balvin earns his first No. 1 on the overall Latin Airplay chart in 2023. His last effort, “Nivel de Perreo” with Ryan Castro, reached a No. 26 high in September 2022. Prior, “Forever My Love” and “Sigue,” both collaborations with Ed Sheeran, took Balvin to the summit for one week each in April 2022.

Balvin first broke the No. 1 barrier with “AM” with Farruko in 2014, for one week in charge, and became a staple at the format with six more No. 1s from his next 10 chart visits. In total, Balvin has collected 36 champs, further distancing from the competition.

Here’s the rundown of artists with the most No. 1s on Latin Airplay since the chart began in 1994:

36, J Balvin
33, Ozuna
32, Enrique Iglesias
28, Daddy Yankee
23, Maluma
22, Bad Bunny
22, Wisin

“Dientes” brings Usher to the lead after more than two decades, after his featured role in Romeo Santos’ ”Promise” ruled for 10 weeks between 2011-12. Between his two chart-topping singles, he landed a No. 35 high through his featured turn in David Guetta’s “Without You” in 2012.

DJ Khaled, meanwhile, scores his second No. 1 after Jennifer Lopez’s “Dinero” — where he is featured along with Cardi B — led for one week in 2018.

Back to the champ, in addition to securing all artists a new No. 1, “Dientes” gives UMLE its fourth ruler in 2023, after the label dominated with Karol G and Shakira’s TQG” (two weeks between May and July), Alejandro Fernandez’s “No Es Que Me Quiera Ir” and Feid and Sean Paul’s “Nina Bonita” (both for one week in Aug.)

Santos Sells Out Madison Square Garden Twice!

Romeo Santos’ star continues to rise…

The 30-year-old part-Dominican, part-Puerto Rican singer recently sold out two concerts dates at New York’s Madison Square Garden, February 11 and Feb. 23, 2012!

Santos—who released his debut solo album last month after serving as the front man for Aventura—even had to add a third date at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 24, 2012 to meet the demand!

In addition to the bachata singer’s performances in New York City, Santos’ 13-city tour will make stops in Miami, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and more.

Meanwhile, Santos has launched a “12 Days of Christmas” sweepstakes to give a dozen fans the chance to see him perform live. One grand prize winner will even get a personalized limo ride to the show.

Santos will perform songs from his first solo album “Formula Vol. 1,” which has spent several weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Albums chart. The album’s bilingual lead single, “Promise” featuring Usher, has spent several weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart.

Santos’ First Solo Album Records Strong Sales Numbers…

It seems Romeo Santos has found the formula for success in his new aventura as a solo artist…

The former Aventura frontman’s debut album has posted the biggest first sales week of any Latin album in four years.

Romeo Santos

The 30-year-old Dominican-American singer’s “Formula, Vol. 1” bowed at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart, with Nielsen SoundScan reporting the album sold 62,000 copies.

It’s the largest first-week sales posting for a Latin album since June 23, 2007, when Daddy Yankee’s “El Cartel: the Big Boss” sold 82,000.

In addition to a landing in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, “Formula” is the new No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Albums chart.

“Formula Vol. 1” features 15 songs in English and Spanish, including the hit “Promise,” Santos’ bilingual duet with Usher that reached No. 1 on the Latin Songs chart well before before they performed the song at last week’s Latin Grammys.

It seems Santos—who recently signed on to star in an ABC sitcom—is successfully transitioning to a solo career after a decade with his multiplatinum-selling bachata group.

“In a lot of ways, it’s a continuation of what I was doing in the group, where I was spending 20 hours in the studio on a song,” Santos told the New York Daily News. “I am still making the same decisions, but I get very nostalgic when I’m on stage without them, and I have to remind myself, okay, it’s Romeo, not Aventura.”

Santos is currently on the road promoting the album throughout the country.
