Rosalía to Perform Headlining Set at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival

The 30-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer is set to serve as a headlining act at this year’s Roskilde Festival in Denmark.

RosaliaIn addition to Rosalia, the festival will feature headlining sets from Blur, Kendrick Lamar, Queens of the Stone Age, Christine and the Queens and others.

Organizers announced a slew of new additions to the line-up on Monday, February 27, including Angélique KidjoCaroline PolachekWeyes BloodCode OrangeIndigo De Souza and Special Interest.

Other previously announced names on the roster for the fest slated to take place between June 24-July 1 are: Burna Boy, Sudan Archives, Big Freedia, GloRilla, Lil Nas X, Central Cee, Fever Ray, Hudson Mowhawke, Tinariwen, Lock Up, Benny Jamz, Clarissa Conelly’s Canon, 070 Shake, Derya Yildrim & Grup Simsek, Alice Glass, Rina Sawayama, Denzel Curry, Tove Lo, Japanese Breakfast, Nikki Lane, First Hate, Fulu Miziki, J.I.D., Rema, Armand Hammer, Billy Woods, Nora Brown and Phelimuncasi.

In a statement, Roskilde’s head of programming, Anders Wahrén, praised the eclectic lineup, saying, “This announcement features some of the most vehement vocalists and powerful performers right now, acts whom in each their own way convey hope, meaning and change. Roskilde Festival has shared a special, decade-spanning bond with artists like Kendrick Lamar and Angélique Kidjo, and they always bring something new to this festival.”

Speaking specifically about Lamar, Wahrén added, “Kendrick Lamar is one of the most requested artists among our festival audience, and he possesses a peerless artistic vision. He is no doubt the most influential rapper of his generation, and we’re excited to welcome him back.”

It’s a brief encounter for Anthony Ramos.

Calvin Klein has unveiled its star-studded Spring 2021 campaign, with the 29-year-old Puerto Rican actor & singer among the featured brand ambassadors.

Ramos, who originated the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Hamilton, appears in the campaign along with Megan Thee Stallion, Jacob Elordi, KoffeeJanaya Future KhanRina Sawayama, Sage Elsesser, Vinson Fraley and Queer Skate LA.

In the new commercial for the collection, Ramos asks “What makes you most vulnerable?”

Later he says, “We gotta get back to that feeling of letting go. That freedom. And maybe you know we might get hurt along the way or something might happen. But something great might happen too.”

Meanwhile, Elordi, the 23-year-old Spanish-Australian actor breakout star of Netflix‘s The Kissing Booth, appears notably buff in the campaign.

Omar Apollo to Take Part in YouTube Music’s On-Demand Video Festival #FoundryFest

YouTube Music‘s first-ever #FoundryFest will feature 20 performances, premieres, videos and discussions with YouTube Foundry artists, including the 23-year-old Mexican American bilingual singer-songwriter.

The “So Good”singer will be joined by Dua LipaBeabadoobee and Rina Sawayama as part of the festival, which launches at 9:00 am ET on Friday, October 23.

Fans will be able to scroll through the offerings in the on-demand video series by searching #Foundryfest on YouTube, with new treats popping up throughout the day on the artist’s official You Tube channels.

“YouTube Music Foundry was a great resource to me early in my career, and I’m happy to be an alum of a program that helps support emerging artists from all over the world,” said 2015 Foundry alumni Lipa in a statement.

Other past and current Foundry artists from the service’s artist development program slated to participate in the event include: Arlo Parks, Joesef, Rauw Alejandro. Gabriel Garzon-Montano, Natanael Cano, Guapdad 4000, Lost Stories, Tessa Violet, Baby Rose, Michael Brun, Eladio Carrion, Novelbright, Lime Cordiale, Rei Ami, Adam Melchor, TESSÆ and Isabella Lovestory.

As with last week’s #SOSFEST, which collected funds for the National Independent Venue Association, #FoundryFest will raise money to support the nearly 3,000 U.S. venues, festivals and promoters who’ve been severely impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown.

“YouTube created Foundry in 2015, to celebrate developing artists from around the world and help them build a global fanbase, which holds true today. Artists are always ingenious, creative problem solvers, but I’m especially impressed by how they’ve navigated change this year,” said Naomi Zeichner, YouTube’s Artist Partnerships Lead in a statement. “#FoundryFest is a testament to the resiliency of the artist community, and I’m excited for fans to explore what these artists are creating right now, and hear more about their experiences this year.”
