Yandel Earns 15th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with Feid Collaboration “Yandel 150”

The 46-year-old Puerto Rican singer and songwriter has notched his 15th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “Yandel 150,” his collaboration with Feid, rises to the top spot on the chart dated April 15.

Yandel returns to the summit following the one-week lead of “Déjà Vu,” with Tainy, in 2021. His longest-leading champ was “Encantadora,” which held atop the chart for three weeks.

Feid, meanwhile, claims his third No. 1 just a month after his featured turn in Ozuna’s “Hey Mor” ruled the March 4-dated list.

The collaboration ousts another pairing, Myke Towers and Daddy Yankee, after one week in charge for “Ulala.”

“Yandel 150” is the fourth single from Yandel’s Resistencia, his seventh studio album as a soloist, released Jan. 13 via Sony Music Latin. The 17-track set, jam-packed with reggaetón vets and newcomers alike, including his longtime collaborator Wisin, earned the Puerto Rican an eighth straight top 10 on Latin Rhythm Albums (March 23-dated list).

Further, “Yandel 150” leads in its ninth week on Latin Airplay, tying with “Hey Mor” as the third song to rise to the summit in nine weeks or fewer among Yandel’s 15 champs. Only two other tracks climbed faster: “Como Antes,” featuring Wisin, led in its second week, while “Se Acabó El Amor,” with Abraham Mateo and Jennifer Lopez, conquered in its sixth week.

Elsewhere, Yandel also takes his 15th No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay, while Feid picks up his fourth champ.

Ozuna Notches 29th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay Chart with Feid-Collaboration “Hey Mor”

Ozuna has mor to celebrate…

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican singer, songwriter and rapper has notched his 29th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart as “Hey Mor,” featuring Feid, leads the February 18-dated ranking.

Ozuna, Feid, Hey MorThe song trades places with Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro’s “Party,” which slides 1-2 after two weeks at the top of the chart.

“Hey Mor” was released on October 8 via Aura/Sony Music Latin. It ascends 2-1 in its 10th week with 9.3 million in audience impressions, up 7%, earned in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 9, according to Luminate.

The song is the sixth single from Ozuna’s fifth studio album OzuTochi which debuted at No. 5 on Top Latin Albums and at No. 4 on Latin Rhythm Albums last October.

“Hey Mor” gives the Latin rhythmic hitmaker his 29th champ on Latin Rhythm Airplay, and steps closer to the lead extending his second-best count of No. 1s among all acts on the 17-year-old chart. Daddy Yankee and J Balvin continue to have the most champs, both with 34 No. 1s.

Feid, meanwhile, captures his third No. 1 among seven career appearances. The Colombian’s first offering arrived with “Porfa,” with an all-star team comprising J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Sech and Justin Quiles in August 2020.

Plus, he locked in his first and only champ as a soloist, unaccompanied by any other act, on Latin Rhythm Airplay with “Normal” in January.

Elsewhere, “Hey Mor” doubles its previous peak on the all-genre Latin Airplay chart, rallying 8-4 in its seventh week. Plus, Feid scores a career best on the overall Billboard Hot 100 ranking, as the song climbs 96-88.

Bizarrap Earns First No. 1 on Billboard Hot Latin Songs Chart with Shakira-Collab “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”

Bizarrap has earned his first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart…

The 24-year-old Argentine DJ and record producer captures his first chart-topper for “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” his smash collaboration with Shakira.

With the No. 1 song, Shakira ties with Bad Bunny for the fourth-most No. 1s overall, both with 12.

The song was released on January 11 at 7 p.m. ET through Dale Play/Sony Music Latin and debuted at No. 16 (chart dated January 21) with less than two days of activity.

Hot Latin Songs ranks the most popular Latin songs in the U.S. based on a blend of airplay, digital sales, and streaming data.

Starting with radio airplay, “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” generated 7.42 million audience impressions in the tracking week ending in January 19, according to Luminate. The sum allows for a No. 5 debut on the all-genre Latin Airplay chart.

It’s the second top 10 for Bizarrap after his four-week command with “Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” with Quevedo (November 2022). Shakira, meanwhile, collects her 36th top 10.

On the streaming front, “Music Sessions, Vol. 53” logged 20.2 million official U.S. streams, up 315%, in the same tracking period. The count yields a No. 3 start on the overall Streaming Song ranking and a 17-1 jump on Latin Streaming Songs.

Sales also assist the collaboration’s No. 1 ascent on Hot Latin Songs. With 9,000 downloads sold, “Vol. 53” surges 23-3 on the Digital Songs Sales ranking and holds at No. 1 for a second week on Latin Digital Song Sales.

It’s the largest sales week among Hot Latin Songs hits since Shakira’s own “Suerte (Whenever, Wherever)” sold 15,000 on the Feb. 15, 2020-dated chart, following her performance of the track during the halftime show that year (Feb. 2).

Back on the multimetric tally, “Vol. 53” easily sends Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera’s “Bebe Dame” to No. 2 after its one week in charge.

Further, the tally’s No. 1 slot was monopolized by three Bad Bunny’s songs for 35 weeks, as “Moscow Mule,” “Me Porto Bonito,” with Chencho Corleone, and “Titi Me Preguntó” dominated the May 21, 2022 – January 14, 2023-dated rankings, until Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera’s “Bebe Dame” landed at the summit the week prior.

Elsewhere on the charts, “Vol. 53” makes a No. 9 debut on the overall Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s the highest start for both acts, and Shakira’s highest ranking since “Beautiful Liar,” with Beyoncé, peaked at No. 3 in 2007. “Vol. 53” also bows at No. 2 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts.

Camilo Earns First No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay Chart with Grupo Firme Collab “Alaska”

The 28-year-old Colombian Latin Grammy-winning singer has landed his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Alaska,” his single with Grupo Firme, rises from the No. 4 slot to rule the November 12-dated list.

Camilo“Alaska” received its official release through Hecho A Mano/Sony Music Latin on August 18. It’s the sixth single from Camilo’s third studio album, De Adentro Pa’ Fuera, which reached a No. 6 high on Latin Pop Albums (September 24).

“Alaska” reaches the No. 1 slot, after a second week in the top 10 (No. 4 high, November 5-dated ranking) and in its eighth week on the chart boosted by a 25% increase in audience impressions, to 7.1 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 6, according to Luminate.

The regional Mexican tune, which was co-written and co-produced by Camilo alongside Edgar Barrera, dispatches Duelo’s “24 Siete” after it’s one-week command.

With seven No. 1s on its career history, Grupo Firme ties with Christian Nodal and Banda MS for the third-most champs this decade, trailing Calibre 50’s eight leaders. Since the chart launched in 1994, Calibre 50 continues at the helm with 22 No. 1’s.

“Alaska” becomes the first team-up by a regional Mexican group with a core Latin pop act to lead Regional Mexican Airplay since Natalia Lafourcade ruled for three weeks through her featured role in Los Angeles Azules’ “Nunca Es Suficiente” in 2019.

Meanwhile, “Alaska” earns Grupo Firme its fourth No. 1 in 2022, including “Cada Quien,” with Maluma, which topped the chart for two weeks in February

“Alaska” advances 11-7 on the overall Latin Airplay ranking, earning Camilo his 11th top 10 while Grupo Firme adds a sixth top 10 to its scoreboard.

Yahritza y Su Esencia Sign Label Deal with Columbia Records

The Mexican American group, comprised of 15-year singer-songwriter Yahritza Martinez and her brothers Armando (guitar) and Jairo (bass), has signed a label deal with Columbia Records.

Yahritza Martinez, Yahritza y Su Esencia,The deal is a partnership between Columbia, Sony Music Latin and the trio’s regional Mexican indie label Lumbre Music, who first signed the band in February.

The sierreño band is currently managed by their older sister, Adriana Martinez.

In April, Yahritza y Su Esencia made chart history with their heartbreak track “Soy El Unico” as the youngest Latin performer to enter the Billboard Hot 100 debuting at No. 20. Since then, major Latin and mainstream record labels had expressed interest in signing the regional Mexican act.

“Lumbre is really happy to partner with Columbia Records for Yaritza y Su Esencia. It speaks volumes for an American-Mexican indie label like us to work hand in hand with a major label,” says Ramon Ruiz, CEO of Lumbre Music. “We have been working hard to develop and really get the kids’ music out to the masses and we have done some great work with them, including their first diamond certification, but are so excited to take them to the next level. We are all so passionate about this project it was important that whoever came into the project felt that same passion, and both the artists and Lumbre felt that with Columbia from the get-go. Yahritza y Su Esencia, up for best new artist at the 2022 Latin Grammys, broke out on TikTok earlier this year after they uploaded covers and quickly created a zealous fan base.

In March, after being discovered by Lumbre Music on the platform’s For You Page, they released their first single, “Soy El Único,” which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.

Since, they scored their first No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart with their debut album, Obsessed, released in May.

Elsewhere, the five-track set debuted at No. 7 on Top Latin Albums, and it also entered the all-genre Billboard 200 at No. 173.

Manuel Turizo Rises to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “La Bachata”

The 22-year-old Colombian singer has secured his fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “La Bachata” advances from No. 4 to lead the October 29-dated ranking.

“La Bachata,” released on La Industria/Sony Music Latin, tallied 10.7 million in audience impressions, up 29%, earned in the U.S. in the October 17-23 tracking week, according to Luminate.

The song, written by Turizo, Edgar Barrera, Andrés Jael Correa, Juan Diego Medina and Miguel Andrés Martinez, is the first single from Turizo’s forthcoming album 2000 (release date TBD).

The new leader is the fifth champ for Turizo among 24 Latin Airplay chart entries.

Turizo’s first No. 1, “Vaina Loca” with Ozuna, dominated for two weeks in 2018.

“La Bachata” is also Turizo’s second chart-topper as a soloist, unaccompanied by any other act.

Plus, “La Bachata” gain 1% in streams, to 5.1 million, while it dips 5% in downloads sold, earned in the week ending October 20.

Further, “La Bachata” holds at No. 1 for a sixth consecutive week on Tropical Airplay (and counting), five weeks after it ascended to the summit. It becomes the third-longest-leading title in 2022, trailing Romeo Santos’ “Sus Huellas” which ruled for 10 weeks and Don Omar and Nio Garciá’s 8-week ruler, “Se Mena.”

Maluma Releases New Single with Adam Levine & The Rudeboyz

The 28-year-old Colombian singer, songwriter and actor has joined voices with Adam Levine and The Rudeboyz to release the highly anticipated single “Ojalá.”

The new song — produced by Maluma’s longtime collaborators The Rudeboyz — finds the Colombian star and Levine trading verses about losing a girl and getting over the heartbreak. They both declare: It won’t be easy getting over them.

“Ojalá” is the debut single from The Rudeboyz’s upcoming debut album.

The track arrived alongside a music video directed by Diane Martel via NEON16 & Sony Music Latin.

The three-minute clip starts off with Chan El Genio and Kevin ADG (The Rudeboyz) listening to an “incredible” beat they just produced and say, “What if we can get Maluma and Adam Levine on this song, we’d kill it. Can you imagine? That would be a dream.”

The artists first announced the collaboration on October 14 via social media. Levine teased a 20-second clip of the upbeat track on his TikTok page, captioning the post, “#Ojala @RUDEBOYZ @Juan Luis.”

Maluma shared the snippet to his Instagram Stories and as a post, writing on one story, “What do you think about this?” Meanwhile, The Rudeboyz wrote, “A very important release for us with people we admire a lot!!  Keep your eyes on this !! @maluma @adamlevine.”

Back in June, Levine had already hinted at a possible collaboration with Maluma. He posted a photo of them on Instagram of the two hanging out in a studio and wrote, “World ain’t ready.”

The Rudeboyz, who were recently signed by Tainy‘s NEON16, have produced hits for artists such as Shakira, Sech, Jennifer Lopez, Prince Royce and Sebastián Yatra, among others.

Maluma’s “Junio” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart

The 28-year-old Colombian singer, songwriter and actor has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart with the arrival of “Junio” on the October 15-dated ranking.

“Junio” storms in at No. 1 after its first official tracking week with 8.9 million in audience impressions earned in the week ending October 9, according to Luminate.

The track was released via Sony Music Latin/WK on September 29 and performed live at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards that same night.

“Junio” is the third song to debut at No. 1 on Latin Airplay in 2022, of the total 38 songs that have reached the top this year.

Only one other Latin act has achieved the feat, Romeo Santos through two No. 1 debuts: “Sus Huellas” (February 26-dated ranking) and “Sin Fin,” his first team-up with Justin Timberlake (list dated September 17).

Among Maluma’s 22 champs, “Junio” marks his ninth win as a soloist, unaccompanied by any other act. He first earned a No. 1 on his own with “Borro Cassette” in 2015.

With 22 crowns on his account, Maluma ties with Wisin for the fifth-most overall since the chart launched in 1993.

Beyond its Latin Airplay coronation, “Junio” concurrently debuts at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay. It’s Maluma’s 19th ruler there and his first debut atop the ranking since “Chantaje” in 2016.

Further, the pop rhythmic “Junio,” also makes progress on Latin Pop Airplay, rallying 19-1 in its second week. It’s the biggest jump since 2007, when Juanes’ “Me Enamora” surged 23 rankings (24-1) also in its second week.

Gerardo Ortiz Earns 12th No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay Chart with “Modo Crudo”

The 33-year-old Mexican American singer’s “Modo Crudo” has jumped to No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart, leading the October 8-dated ranking.

Gerardo OrtizThe track takes the Greatest Gainer trophy of the week thanks to a robust 65% gain in audience impressions, to 7.1 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending October 2, according to Luminate.

“Modo Crudo” was released June 3 via Bad Sin/Sony Music Latin. It becomes the most-heard song on U.S. monitored Regional Mexican stations during the tracking week as it rallies 8-1 after it reached a No. 5 high on the Sept. 10-dated ranking.

Among “Modo Crudo’s” greatest radio supporters by audience during the September 26-Oct. 2 tracking week, stations in Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles take the lead.

Chicago’s WOJO generated 9.8 million (up 91%), Dallas’ KLNO rose to 8.7 million (up 1,795%), while Los Angeles’ KSCA increased by 77% (to 7.1 million).

The new leader is Ortiz’s 12th champ among 31 career appearances. Of those, 23 reached the top 10, including his 12-week ruler “Solo Vine a Despedirme” (November 2012-January 2013). The singer/songwriter continues to hold the second-most wins among soloists, trailing Christian Nodal, who leads with 14 No. 1s since the chart launched in 1994.
