Martinez to Star in the Revenge Thriller “Message From The King”

It’s a King’s landing for Natalie Martinez

The 30-year-old Cuban American actress has landed a role in Message From The King, a revenge thriller from director Fabrice Du Welz.

The film stars Chadwick Boseman as Jacob, a South African man who descends into the Los Angeles underworld in an attempt to avenge his younger sister’s death and rescue her stepson from the immoral world into which he’s been sold.

Martinez will portray Trish, the former neighbor of Jacob’s missing sister Bianca who he recruits to help find the woman’s murderer.

Teresa Palmer, Luke Evans and Alfred Molina also star.

Filming is expected to begin this month in Los Angeles.

Martinez currently plays Jess Murphy on ABC’s midseason Sunday drama Secrets And Lies, and her other recent credits include multiple episodes of Under The DomeCSI: NY and Detroit 1-8-7.

She will next be seen in the Focus Features summer pic Self/Less starring Ryan Reynolds and Ben Kingsley.

Open Road Films to Release Collins Jr.’s “Triple Nine” in September 2015

Open Road Films has announced plans to release Triple Nine, starring the 44-year-old Mexican and Spanish American actor, on September 11, 2015.

In addition to Collins Jr., the John Hillcoat-directed heist thriller also stars Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Teresa Palmer, Gal Gadot and Norman Reedus.

Triple Nine centers on a crew of dirty cops who are blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down.” Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.

Millennium Entertainment Acquires Dawson’s Sci-Fi Drama “Parts Per Billion”

It’s a billionparts deal for Rosario Dawson’s latest project…

Millennium Entertainment has picked up the U.S. rights to Parts Per Billion, starring the 35-year-old Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban American actress, Josh Hartnett, Teresa Palmer, Penn Badgley, Frank Langella and Gena Rowlands.

The ensemble film centers on the three couples forced to make life-defining decisions in the face of a biological catastrophe that threatens to destroy the human race. As the pandemic spreads and civilization is thrown into chaos,generations old and young must each make the ultimate decision.

No release date has been setfor the sci-fi drama, which was written and directed by Brian Horiuchi.

Peña to Star in the Heist Thriller “Triple Nine”

The 36-year-old Mexican American actor, who earned a Spirit Award nomination for his performance in the police drama End of Watch, will star in the heist thriller Triple Nine.

Directed by John Hillcoat, the drama centers on a crew of dirty cops that is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. In addition to Peña, the film’s all-star cast includes Fruitvale Station’s Michael B. Jordan, Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, Warm BodiesTeresa Palmer and Gal Gadot, 12 Years A Slave‘s Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck and Kate Winslet.

Open Road Films, which just completed a deal to pre-buy domestic distribution rights on Triple Nine, plans to release the film in 2015.

Dawson In Talks to Star in “The Ever After”

Rosario Dawson could soon be married to a new film project…

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban American actress is in talks to star in The Ever After, which is described as a hard examination of a marriage.

The film, to be directed by Mark Webber, will star Oscar winner Melissa Leo with Warm BodiesTeresa Palmer and Webber in the lead roles.

Along with Dawson, part-Mexican American rapper/actor Kid Cudi, Phoebe Tonkin and Hart of Dixie’s Jaime King are also in talks to join the film.

Webber’s sophomore directorial effort The End of Love was nominated for a Sundance Film Festival 2012 Grand Jury Prize.

Dawson most recently starred in Danny Boyle’s Trance. She’ll next appear in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and Chavez.
