Riesco to Star in in Showtime’s Hour-Long Drama “The Chi”

Armando Riesco is joining the force…

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican actor has landed a series regular role in Showtime’s hour-long drama The Chi.

Created/executive produced by Lena Waithe, The Chi is a coming-of-age story that follows a half-dozen interrelated characters in the South Side of Chicago.

Riesco will play a seasoned homicide detective working the turbulent streets of Chicago’s South Side neighborhoods. When one of his street informant’s kids gets murdered, he mistakenly gives him information that leads to a senseless death of yet another kid. The detective has a soft spot for some of his regulars and finds himself torn at times between his colleagues and his neighborhood.

Riesco most recently guest-starred on CBS’ drama Bull.

Riesco, well known for his stage work in New York, has also had recurring roles on Power and The Family.

Montana to Star in NBC’s Drama Pilot “Good Girls”

Manny Montana has found his good girl(s)

The 33-year-old Latino actor has landed a series regular role on NBC’s drama pilot Good Girls.

Written and executive produced by from The Family creator Jenna Bans, the drama follows three “good girl” suburban wives and mothers who suddenly find themselves in desperate circumstances and decide to stop playing it safe, and risk everything to take their power back.

Montana, who currently appears on ABC’s Conviction, will play Rio, a smart local hustler who recognizes what assets our “good girls” can be to his money laundering business.

The casting is technically in second position to the ABC/ABC Studios freshman drama Conviction, which has not been officially cancelled but is not expected to come back.

Montana, a Graceland alum, recently booked a recurring role on Fox’s sophomore drama Rosewood.

Solis to Star in CBS’ Nancy Drew-Based Drama Pilot “Drew”

Felix Solis is a man of mystery

The 44-year-old Puerto Rican actor, film director and producer has been added to the cast of Drew, CBS’ drama pilot based on the Nancy Drew character from the classic mystery book series.

Written by Joan Rater and Tony Phelan and directed by James Strong, Drew is described as a contemporary take on the character from the books, with Nancy, now in her 30s, working as a detective for the NYPD, where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills, all while navigating the complexities of life in a modern world.

Solis will play Lieutenant Ford, who moved to New York after his wife died under suspicious circumstances. He was a person of interest but never charged. He left all that behind and tries to forget his past by burying himself in work.

Solis, who recurred as Special Agent Jeffrey Clarke on The Following, will next be seen in ABC’s The Family.
