The project, set in Charleston, South Carolina, centers on Jamie (portrayed by Anna Wood), a beautiful Yankee litigator, and Roy (Cam Gigandet), a city attorney from the South, who struggle to hide their intense attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal.

Rodriguez will portray Preston, a well-respected police detective who works in the Charleston Police Department alongside Trey (Shawn Hatosy).

Should the project get a series order, it would mark the Magic Mike star’s return to CBS following the cancellation of CSI: Miami, where he portrayed Detective Eric Delko.

The film follows two singletons (played by Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant in the redo) as they attempt to turn a one night stand into a possible relationship.

The Magic Mike star, who will be playing a college math professor on Fox’s upcoming midseason comedy The Goodwin Games, has been cast as the ex-flame of Bryant’s character.

About Last Night

The film is as-yet untitled, since screenwriter Leslye Headland (Bachelorette) drew more from the original source material, David Mamet’s play Sexual Perversity in Chicago.

Kevin Hart and Regina Hall are set to play the couple’s respective friends, who don’t approve of the relationship.
