Xolo Maridueña to Star in the Eif Rivera-Directed Film “Killing Castro”

Xolo Maridueña is killin’ it in Hollywood 

The 22-year-old Mexican, Cuban and Ecuadorian American actor and Blue Beetle star will star in the film Killing Castro.

Xolo MaridueñaEif Rivera will direct the film from a script by Leon Hendrix, Thomas DeGrezia and Colin Bateman. This will be Rivera’s first feature film.

In addition to Maridueña, who rose to acclaim in Cobra Kai, will star alongside

Al Pacino, Mexican superstar Diego Boneta, KiKi Layne, Alexander Ludwig, Ron Livingston, Kendrick Sampson, Nicole Beharie, Logan Marshall Green and Titus Welliver in the film.

Based on true events, the film is set in 1960. Shortly after winning the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro travels to New York City to deliver his first speech to the United Nations. When met with hostility at his original hotel, Castro meets Malcolm X who invites him to stay at famed Hotel Theresa in Harlem. With the eyes of the world watching, a rookie undercover FBI agent originally assigned to investigate Malcolm X suddenly becomes the FBI’s most valuable asset, and is tasked with keeping Castro from being eliminated by the CIA and the Italian mafia, by any means necessary.

Killing Castro will be produced by Romulus Entertainment’s Brad Feinstein, along with Christina Weiss Lurie of Fourth and Twenty-Eight Films. Romulus will also finance. Principal photography will take place in Newark, NJ.

Rivera is known for directing BMF, and TV shows including Force and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

Disney Releases Season 3 Trailer for Pedro Pascal’s Hit Series “The Mandalorian”

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian, starring the 47-year-old Chilean actor.

Pedro PascalThe third season, which will debut on Disney+ on March 1, will take place following the events of The Book of Boba Fett, in which “Mandalorian” lead Din Djarin (Pascal) was last seen reuniting with the training Jedi warrior Grogu. The two then left Tatooine, with Mando heading to planet Mandalore to restore his honor and become a Mandalorian again.

In a teaser released in September, Mando faces off against several armored warriors in their homeworld.

Pascal returns as the galaxy’s notorious bounty hunter, with Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito and Katee Sackhoff also reprising their “Mandalorian” roles for the third season. Weathers portrays bounty hunter guild leader Greef Karga, while Esposito plays the villainous Moff Gideon and Sackhoff plays female Mandalorian Bo-Katan Kryze.

Christopher Lloyd is also confirmed to make a cameo this season. Prior cast members of The Mandalorian include Amy Sedaris, Omid Abtahi, Bill Burr, Timothy Olyphant, Book of Boba Fett stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen, Titus Welliver and Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, who is leading her own spinoff series slated for release next year.

The Mandalorian was created by Jon Favreau, who serves as a writer and executive producer this season. Lucasfilm is producing the series.

Carlos Miranda to Appear on the Seventh & Final Season of Amazon’s Drama Series “Bosch”

Carlos Miranda is joining the force…

The Latino actor and former Vida star has landed a recurring role in the upcoming seventh and final season of Amazon‘s hit drama series Bosch, starring Titus Welliver and based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling books.

Miranda joins fellow Latino cast newcomer Gino Vento on the series.

Drawing from the novels The Concrete Blonde and The Burning Room, the seventh and final season of Bosch will have Harry Bosch (Welliver) and Jerry Edgar (Jamie Hector) pursuing two separate but perilous murder investigations that will take them to the highest levels of white-collar crime and the deadly depths of the street-level drug trade.

and Miranda will portray Det. Chris Collins; Vento will play Mickey.

Amy Aquino, Madison Lintz, and Lance Reddick also star.

Miranda also will be seen in heavily recurring role in the upcoming season of ABC’s Station 19. He was most recently seen in the Starz series Vida and Comedy Central’s Ana.

Vento stars as Nestor Oceteva in FX’s Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans M.C., has also recurred on The Last O.G. and The Deuce.

Jacqueline Obradors to Recur on Amazon’s Series “Bosch”

Jacqueline Obradors is joining the force…

The 51-year-old Argentine American actress has been cast in a key recurring role on the upcoming fifth season of Amazon’s Bosch.

Based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels, Bosch stars Titus Welliver as homicide Detective Harry Bosch, Jamie Hector as Jerry Edgar, Amy Aquino as Lt. Grace Billets, Madison Lintz as Maddie Bosch and Lance Reddick as Deputy Chief Irvin Irving.

Obradors will play the fast learning and good at hiding her nerves, Detective Christina Vega, who’s been brought up to work in homicide. She feels the promotion has been a long time coming and is determined to prove her worth as quickly as possible.

Bosch is produced by Fabrik Entertainment, a Red Arrow Studios company. The series was developed for television by Eric Overmyer.

Obradors is known for her lead role as Detective Rita Ortiz on the ABC crime drama series NYPD Blue. Other credits include major roles in Franklin and BashLopez, Six Days and Seven Nights, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and A Man Apart.
