Daniel Zovatto to Star Opposite Anna Kendrick in True Crime Thriller “The Dating Game”

Daniel Zovatto is joining the dating pool…

The 31-year-old Costa Rican American film and television actor will co-star opposite Anna Kendrick in the true crime thriller The Dating Game, which Kendrick will also directing.

Daniel ZovattoStuart Ford’s AGC Studios is behind the film with Kendrick also producing.

Production is currently under way in Vancouver.

The script is from a Black List script by Ian MacAllister McDonald and is based on the stranger-than-fiction true story of Cheryl Bradshaw, who was a bachelorette on the hit 70s TV matchmaking show The Dating Game and chose handsome and funny bachelor number one, Rodney Alcala. But behind Alcala’s charming façade was a deadly secret: he was a psychopathic serial killer.

Best known for his breakout role in It Follows, Zovatto is coming off a starring role in the Emmy-nominated HBO limited series Station 11 opposite Himesh Patel and Mackenzie Davis.

He recently wrapped production on The Pope’s Exorcist opposite Russell Crowe.

AGC Studios to Fully Finance Andres Baiz’s Thriller Panopticon, Starring Shailene Woodley

Andres Baiz’s latest film is moving forward…

AGC Studios has announced plans to fully finance Panopticon, the 46-year-old Colombian film director’s thriller.

The film is set to star Shailene WoodleyAnthony Mackie and Jacob Latimore.

Scott Free and AGC are producing, with AGC International and CAA Media Finance launching worldwide sales.

Baiz’s film will shoot in New Mexico this summer.

In the Emily Jerome-scripted thriller, Woodley plays Chase, an ambitious young Wall Street trader who seizes upon a hot investment opportunity in PCC Correctional, a private prison group racking up huge profits. She soon uncovers an operation rife with violence and malfeasance. Forced to choose between profiting from a gold mine career opportunity and doing the right thing, Chase teams up with a local prison guard (Mackie) to take on a culture of corrupt boardrooms, white supremacists, prison gangs and crooked correctional officers, to break apart the system that’s made her a rising star.

Baiz has been directing episodes of Netflix’s Narcos and Narcos: Mexico.

Bleecker Streethas acquired the U.S. distribution rights to The Secrets We Keep, the period revenge thriller directed by Yuval Adler that stars the 40-year-old half-Spanish actress, Joel Kinnamanand Chris Messina

Rapace stars as Maja, a woman rebuilding her life along with her husband, Lewis (Messina), in America after World War II.  One day she encounters an eerily familiar figure (Kinnaman) from her past life – but is he really the man she thinks he is? Convinced he is, Maja takes things into her own hands and kidnaps him, setting in motion a series of memories and events that will change her whole perception of the truth. 

Amy Seimetz also stars. Ryan Covington penned the script.

No release plan was revealed.
