The song, released May 13, part of Quiles’ album La Última Promesa, is the biggest song on the radio of the week.

“Loco” advances with 11.3 million audience impressions, up 58%, in the week ending August 22, according to MRC Data. It earns Dominican rapper Leudy Tejeda, better known as Chimbala, his first No. 1 and first chart entry. He joins a group of four other acts who have notched their first No. 1s with their first chart appearance in 2021. Notably, three out of those five No. 1 titles feature Myke Towers. Let’s take a look:

Artist, Title, Peak Date
Los Legendarios – “Mi Niña,” with Wisin & Myke Towers, Jan. 16
Flow La Movie – “Travesuras,” with Nio García, Casper Mágico, Ozuna, Wisin, Yandel & Myke Towers, March 6
Maria Angeliq – “El Makinon,” with Karol G, June 5
Juhn – “Bandido,” with Myke Towers, June 19
Chimbala – “Loco,” with Justin Quiles and Zion & Lennox, Aug. 28

Zion & Lennox, meanwhile, who first secured a No. 1 on Latin Airplay in 2012 (“Diosa de Corazones,” with Arcangel, Lobo and RKM & Ken-Y), capture their eighth leader, also their first of 2021.

Quiles concurrently sets foot atop Latin Rhythm Airplay with a 6-1 climb. It follows his only other No. 1 “Porfa,” with Feid, J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam and Sech, a one-week ruler in August 2020.

Over on the all-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, “Loco” lifts 19-13 despite a 23% decline in sales and takes the Greatest Gainer/Airplay honor. The track sees a 1% gain in streams, to 1.6 million, earned in the week ending Aug. 19.
