Los Plebes del Rancho Earn First No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart

Los Plebes del Rancho have earned a bittersweet first…

A little more than one year after the death of Ariel Camacho, lead singer of regional Mexican group Ariel Camacho y Los Plebes del Rancho, the new incarnation of the band, Los Plebes del Rancho de Ariel Camacho (renamed in tribute to the former front man) debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart with Recuerden Mi Estilo.

The release sold 6,000 copies in the week ending March 10 (according to Nielsen Music) and marks the first charting album with new singer, Jose Manuel Lopez Castro.

It’s the first No. 1 for the trio, who earned two top five’s with its original singer: El Karma peaked at No. 4 (chart dated March 14, 2015), following his death on Feb. 25, 2015, while Hablemos reached No. 2 on the Nov. 28, 2015 chart.

On the Hot Latin Songs chart, the set’s lead single “Del Negociante” falls 13-15 from its peak, gathering 1.1 million U.S. streams during the tracking week ending March 10 (a six percent dip). Meanwhile, “No Lo Hice Bien” steps 22-21, “Que Caro Estoy Pagando” slips 18-23, and “El Mentado” remains at No. 49 for a second week.
