Warner Bros. Releases Teaser for Rodriguez’s Male Stripper Drama Sequel “Magic Mike XXL”

Adam Rodriguez is ready to pound the flesh… or at least expose it… once again…

Warner Bros. has released a new teaser trailer for Magic Mike XXL, featuring the return of the 39-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban-American actor and CSI: Miami alum.

The film is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2012’s male strip club drama. In addition to Rodriguez, who returns as Tito, Magic Mike XXL sees the return of Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Kevin Nash.

New cast members include Elizabeth Banks, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Donald Glover, Amber Heard, Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Strahan, plus others.

Gregory Jacobs directs the film, taking the reigns from Steven Soderbergh.

Matthew McConaughey, Olivia Munn and Alex Pettyfer will not be returning.

The trailer has already garnered 2.7 million views on YouTube since its release.

Magic Mike XXL hits theaters on July 1.

Rodriguez Lands Recurring Role on NBC’s Medical Drama “The Night Shift”

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban-American actor and CSI: Miami alum has landed a major recurring role on NBC’s drama series The Night Shift.

Rodriguez will appear on a minimum of five episodes in Season 2, portraying Dr. Joey Chavez, the newly hired night call trauma surgeon at San Antonio Memorial Hospital.

He’s described as an Air Force vet that served in Iraq whose personal experiences have led him to investigate his cases with an Eastern medicine perspective.

Rodriguez is currently shooting the Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL.

His previous credits include Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself and About Last Night.

On television, he most recently starred in CBS’ drama Reckless.

Season 2 of The Night Shift begins production on November 10 in Albuquerque, NM.

Warner Bros. has announced plans to release Magic Mike 2, starring the 39-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban-American actor and Channing Tatum, two days earlier than originally planned.

The sequel to the male-stripper drama has been moved from July 3 to July 1, 2015

The original movie starring Rodriguez, Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and others made $113.7M at the domestic box office — one of director Steven Soderbergh’s most lucrative movies ever — and has since spawned a Broadway musical now in the works.

Rodriguez, who recently signed with United Talent Agency, is set to reprise his role as male stripper Tito.

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban-American actor has signed with global talent and literary agency United Talent Agency (UTA).

After starring as Det. Eric Delko for all 10 seasons of CBS’ police procedural CSI: Miami, Rodriguez can currently be seen in the network’s summer legal drama Reckless.

His feature credits include Tyler Perry‘s I Can Do Bad All by MyselfMagic Mike and the About Last Nightremake earlier this year.

In September, Rodriguez will join fellow UTA client Channing Tatum in shooting the sequel to Magic Mike, where he’ll reprise his role as the exotic dancer Tito.

Rodriguez, who signed a development deal for unscripted projects with Bunim/Murray ProductionsBMP Latin earlier this year, continues to be repped by A Management Company.

Trailer Released for Joe Manganiello’s Documentary “La Bare,” Featuring Nick Soto

Nick Soto is ready to la bare it all on the big screen…

Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello goes behind the camera to direct his first feature, a documentary that takes an inside look at Dallas’ La Bare, featuring the 31-year-old half-Venezuelan professional dancer and bodybuilder.

Soto, one of the featured subjects in the film, works at La Bare, one of the most famous male strip clubs in the world.

Main Street Films acquired the North American and Chinese distribution rights to the film, which is slated for a June 27 theatrical release.

In addition to Soto, the documentary also stars Lance Winters.

Open Road Films Acquires the Rights to Iglesias’ Comedy Concert Film “The Fluffy Movie”

Gabriel Iglesias is bringing his fluffy comedy routine to a global audience…

The Fluffy Movie – a comedy concert film by the hilarious 37-year-old Mexican American comedian known comically as Fluffy – has been acquired by Open Road Films for worldwide distribution.

The concert movie will be filmed at two upcoming shows on February 28 and March 1 in San Jose, CA.

Iglesias most recently lent his voice to the animated films Planes and The Nut Job. His other credits include appearances in Magic Mike and The Surfer King.

“Gabriel has worked incredibly hard to become a massive success in the world of stand-up comedy,” said Open Road CEO Tom Ortenberg. “With his roles in Magic Mike and The Nut Job and a hilarious performance in our upcoming film A Haunted House 2, he is a rising star on the big screen and this new film is certain to be a hit with comedy lovers everywhere.”

Iglesias’ The Fluffy Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2014.

It looks like Adam Rodriguez could be developing television content in the near future…

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban-American actor has signed a development deal for unscripted projects with Bunim/Murray ProductionsBMP Latin.

The CSI: Miami and Magic Mike star has been slated to develop and executive-produce numerous unscripted series, some of which will highlight his personal interest in social and philanthropic issues.

BMP Latin is currently producing Combate Americas, the first Spanish language Mixed Martial Arts competition reality series for mun2.

The company also has development deals with former The X Factor judge Paulina Rubio, multi-platinum reggaeton singer Daddy Yankee and the Leonardo Lopez family, a successful Mexican-American family living the dream in Encino, CA.

Bunim/Murray produces The Real World, Project Runway and Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Aguirre-Sacasa to Adapt Marisha Pessi’s “Night Film” for the Big Screen

The 40-year-old Nicaraguan American playwright, screenwriter and comic book writer has been picked to adapt Marisha Pessl’s noir novel Night Film for Chernin Entertainment and director Rupert Wyatt.

Aguirre-Sacasa, one of the people who rescued the troubled Broadway musical Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, has been working in every medium in recent years.

His work ranges from writing for Fox’s Glee to scripting the remake of Carrie and The Town That Dreaded Sundown, as well as a screen version of Archie for Warner Bros. and writing the book for the Broadway musical adaptation of the Channing Tatum film Magic Mike.

In Night Film, a journalist investigates the suspected suicide of a young beauty, and discovers she is the daughter of a reclusive horror film helmer and that the girl was murdered and someone is bent on revenge.

Chernin bought the book in April and attached Wyatt, who directed Rise of the Planet of the Apes for the company.

Iglesias Joins Cast of the Horror Comedy “A Haunted House 2”

The 37-year-old Mexican American stand-up comedian and actor has been cast in A Haunted House 2, the sequel to the horror comedy A Haunted House from Marlon Wayans and director Mike Tiddes.

Iglesias, Jaime Pressly and Ashley Rickards will join returning cast members Essence Atkins, Affion Crockett and Dave Sheridan.

Crossing new lines and breaking old barriers, A Haunted House 2  stars Marlon Wayans as Malcolm who, after exorcising the demons of his ex, is starting fresh with his new girlfriend and her two children. After moving into their dream home, Malcolm is once again plagued by bizarre paranormal events. The film is inspired by the latest supernatural horror movie franchises and shows that this time… it’s not just the house that’s haunted.

On board as writers and producers are Wayans and Rick Alvarez.

Open Road, which scored a hit with A Haunted House, returns as the film’s U.S. distributor with a March 2014 release planned.

Iglesias, best known for his comedy shows I’m Not Fat… I’m Fluffy and Hot & Fluffy, has appeared on screen in El Matador and Magic Mike, as well as the voice cast of Planes.

Rodriguez Cast in CBS’ Drama Pilot “Reckless”

Adam Rodriguez is headed back to the force for his next project.

The 37-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban-American actor, who will be appearing in a recurring role on Fox’s The Goodwin Games this May, has landed a co-starring role on CBS’ drama pilot Reckless.

The project, set in Charleston, South Carolina, centers on Jamie (portrayed by Anna Wood), a beautiful Yankee litigator, and Roy (Cam Gigandet), a city attorney from the South, who struggle to hide their intense attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal.

Rodriguez will portray Preston, a well-respected police detective who works in the Charleston Police Department alongside Trey (Shawn Hatosy).

Should the project get a series order, it would mark the Magic Mike star’s return to CBS following the cancellation of CSI: Miami, where he portrayed Detective Eric Delko.
