Rosana Receives the Key to the City in Miami…

Rosana Arbelo better get a bigger key chain…

The 48-year-old Spanish singer, commonly known by only her first name, has received the key to Miami, where she’s set to perform on February 23 as part of the U.S. tour for her new album, ¡Buenos dias, mundo! It’s Rosana’s seventh album.

Rosana
Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado made the presentation in a ceremony at city hall attended by Spanish Consul-General Maria Cristina Barrios Almazor.

“For me this is something very special, it’s like a warm embrace from a good friend, said Rosana, who released her debut album Lunas Rotas in 1996. “I’m absolutely overwhelmed.”

“We’ve been on tour since October 11, 2011, and until the end of 2013 around the world, and we wanted the United States to form part of this tour for the first time,” she said.

The singer, who has sold 10 million albums since her debut, said her upcoming Miami concert will feature songs from the new album as well as a sampling from a “pile of songs that fortunately make up part of the lives of an interesting handful of people.”

Rosana’s Miami show will be followed by a February 26 performance at Stage 48 in New York City.
