The 25-year-old Panamanian urban singer has earned his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, as his single with Darell, “Otro Trago,” rises 3-1 on the chart dated August 31.
The new chart-topper arrives a month after the remix of the song, which features Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Anuel AA, was released.
While Sech and Darell, who collaborated on the original version of the track, claim their first No. 1 on the list, Nicky Jam secures his 11th, Ozuna his 12th, and Anuel AA his fourth.
“Otro Trago” rises due in part to a 16% boost in audience impressions (13.8 million), logged in the week ending August 25, according to Nielsen Music.
The song also lands at No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay tally. It previously topped the Hot Latin Songschart for two nonconsecutive weeks (starting August 10).
Only two other songs have topped the Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay, and Latin Rhythm Airplay charts in 2019: Bad Bunny’s “MIA,” featuring Drake, and Daddy Yankee’s “Con Calma,” featuring Snow.
Elsewhere, “Otro Trago” advances 8-7 on Latin Pop Airplay.
The song is Sech’s second single from his debut albumSueños, whichholds for its fifth consecutive week at No. 3 (its peak) on the Top Latin Albums chart.
The 26-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer’s latest single “China,” featuring Daddy Yankee, Karol G, Ozuna and J Balvin, rises 2-1 in just its third week on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart dated August 17.
It’s the fastest climb to the top in 2019 and the quickest ascent since Bad Bunny’s “MIA,” featuring Drake, jumped 9-1 in its second week (October 27, 2018).
“I’m extremely happy, blessed and grateful to God and my fans,” Anuel AA tells Billboard. “I thank my colleagues for trusting me, my team for their great work and giving their 200% to make this dream come true.”
“China” is a reimagination of Shaggy’s 2000 hit “It Wasn’t Me.” It was produced by Tainy and co-written by the five artists on the track.
It opened at No. 2 just three weeks ago, on the August 3-dated list.
“The artists on this track give it an elevated presence right out of the gate given the caliber of each individually and the power they present here collectively,” Ismael Santa Cruz, Vice President, Managing Director Radio Strategy at Univision Communications, tells Billboard. “The fact that the track samples a hit from 19 years ago also helps it build a foundation from which to grow on.”
Despite the song’s decline in streaming activity and digital sales (in the week ending August 8, according to Nielsen Music), “China” moves thanks to 6% boost in audience impressions (to 8 million) earned in the week ending August 11.
The Hot Latin Songs chart ranks the most popular Latin songs of the week, blending streaming, sales and airplay data.
“‘China’ is the strongest song of my career up to date,” Anuel AA told Billboard on July 12. “It’s the mix of different cultures with each of the collaborators contributing with its own flow. I had been looking to revive a classic and when I heard Shaggy’s mix, it hit me.”
“China” is Anuel AA’s third leader, Daddy Yankee’s seventh, Karol G’s second, Ozuna’s fourth, and J Balvin’s sixth. Notably, Karol G becomes the first core Latin female artist to secure a No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs tally in over a year — since Karol herself led the list. Her first No. 1 arrived on May 12, 2018, with “Dame Tu Cosita,” a co-billed track with Pitbulland El Chombo, featuring Cutty Ranks. It topped the list for two weeks.
“The inclusion of Karol G helped the track,” Santa Cruz adds. “It was important to include a female artist in the song. This is a great time for female artists in the Latin rhythmic space as they are driving a lot of momentum and bringing a fresh sound.”
Prior to Karol G, the last time a core Latin female artist ranked at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs was way back in early 2017, when Shakira’s “Chantaje,” featuringMaluma, wrapped up 10 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the February 11, 2017-dated list.
Since then, three women who traditionally have only charted with English-language recordings have claimed the crown: Selena Gomezand Cardi B(featured on DJ Snake‘s “Taki Taki,” alongside Ozuna; 13 nonconsecutive weeks starting October 13, 2018) and Beyoncé (featured on J Balvin and Willy William‘s “Mi Gente”; 10 consecutive weeks starting October 21, 2017).
Beyond “China’s” coronation on Hot Latin Songs, the tune also climbs to a new high on the Latin Digital Songs Salesand Latin Streaming Songschart through an equal 2-1 boost.
On the all-genre BillboardHot 100, “China” lifts 44-43.

On the chart — which blends airplay, sales and streaming data to rank to the most popular Latin songs of the week — all eight of Bad Bunny’s Oasis’ songs, his No. 1 joint album with J Balvin, debut on the list dated July 13.
The Oasis parade is led by “Qué Pretendes,” which debuts at No. 2. Another Oasis track, “La Cancion,” bows within the top 10, at No. 10.
So, that’s two Bad Bunny cuts in the top 10, which joins four other Bad Bunny songs already in the region, at No. 3 (“Callaita,” with Tainy), No. 4 (“MIA,” featuring Drake), No. 5 (“Soltera,” with Lunayand Daddy Yankee) and No. 8 (“No Me Conoce,” with Jhay Cortezand J Balvin).
With that, Bad Bunny notches his six songs concurrently in the top 10. The previous record was four, held by six acts (Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Anuel AA, Joan Sebastian, Romeo Santosand Wisin & Yandel).
Further, Bad Bunny sets another record: He’s the first act with four songs in the top five at the same time, as he holds Nos. 2-5.

Bad Bunny told Billboardhe was planning to finally release his 15-track first full album on Christmas Eve, “Real, real, real, real, I finished the album three days ago,” the artist born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio said in a phone interview. “At that point I said I wanted to release it in Christmas. I didn’t want the year to end without releasing the album. I wanted to close 2018 with it.”
Bad Bunny said he’d been working on the project for six months, and recently finished it by wrapping the song “Como antes,’ the first track they recorded for the album. Though he’s established a rep as the king of the collaboration — appearing on such smashes as “Te Boté” with Ozuna and Nicky Jam and Cardi B‘s “I Like It” — X100preonly has three cameos: Diplo on “200 MPH,” Drake on the recent single “Mia” and Dominican singer El Alfaon “La Romana.”
The album opens with the urgent trap ballad “Ni Bien Ni Mal,” on which the singer promises a departed lover that “whatever happens, I’m not going to call you,” before sliding into the Diplo-assisted “200 MPH,” which trips along on a skittery beat and lyrics about gunning a jetski and partying in the tropics. On the melancholy“¿Quien Tu Eres?,” he croons “Who are you?/ Tell me partner, who are you?/ To get close to me, who are you?,” before basically daring someone to step to him, listing off his accomplishments and warning them to ask around about him in a fierce English-language outro.
The album also includes “Caro,” about how high-dollar Bad Bunny’s flow is, the fiery “La Romana” with the fleet-tongued El Alfa, the new wavey, guitar-spiked “Tenemos Que Hablar” and the broken-hearted “Solo de Mi,” which bounces from a midtempo lost love lament to a cranked up reggaeton jam in the second half, fueled by what sounds like a child’s keyboard.

In the single, Drake trades in his traditional rapping verse for a singing Spanish verse, while Bad Bunny matches his joyous flavor and supplies a robust verse.
The video finds Drake and Bad Bunny kicking it at a block party, playing dominoes, dancing, and of course, having a good time. With a sea of bodacious women floating through the party, this kickback is definitely the hot spot for Drake and Bad Bunny to unleash their addicting earworm.
You may recall Drake flexed his fluid Spanish-speaking abilities during his 2014 collaboration with Romeo Santos titled “Odio.” For Bad Bunny, he’s coming off an impressive outing at the 2018 American Music Awards, where he delivered an electric performance with Cardi Bfor “I Like It.”
The 38-year-old Chilean actress and singer and her fellow former NCIS cast member Michael Weatherlyare reuniting to executive produce MIA, a new detective drama in the works at CBS.
The network has put in development the hour-long MIA, from writer/executive producer Shepard Boucher (Upload), and CBS Television Studios.
Written by Boucher, in MIA, when a newly minted homicide detective is assigned to an experienced, by-the-book partner to solve cases in Miami, she struggles to keep the personal entanglements of her final undercover assignment from jeopardizing her future.
Boucher executive produces with Weatherly and de Pablo. CBS Television Studios, where Weatherly via his Solar Drive Productionshas been under an overall deal, is the studio.
Weatherly, who currently stars in the title role in Bull, which is going into its third season on CBS, played lead Tony DiNozzo on the first 13 seasons of NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
