Gonzalez to Star in ABC’s Medical Drama Pilot “The Good Doctor”

The 41-year-old Mexican American actor has been cast in The Good Doctor, ABC’s medical drama pilot from House creator David Shore and Hawaii Five-0 co-star Daniel Dae Kim.

Written by Shore based on a South Korean format and directed by Seth Gordon, The Good Doctor centers on Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with Savant syndrome who is recruited into the pediatric surgical unit of a prestigious hospital.

Gonzalez, who was introduced in the final minutes of ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder season finale as a key character to the drama’s mystery, will play Dr. Neil Melendez, the boss of the surgical residents at the hospital.

Gonzalez is expected to return to HTGAWM next season as a recurring guest star, reprising his role as Dominick.

He previously recurred on another Shondaland drama series for ABC, Off the Map. Gonzalez will also appear in season 3 of Narcos on Netflix.

The 40-year-old Mexican American actor has booked a recurring role on the upcoming third season of Netflix’s drug cartel drama Narcos.

Gonzalez will play Lopez, a capable and experienced American DEA agent.

Season 3, slated to premiere in 2017, will pick up following the death of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

Gonzalez currently has a recurring role on the seventh season of Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars as Detective Vic Furey and is reprising his role of Dante Ramon, the older brother of Cisco Ramon, in the CW’s The Flash.

The 39-year-old Mexican American actor has been cast opposite Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt in Fox’s untitled pilot from Empire co-creator Lee Daniels (aka Star).

Co-written by Daniels and Tom Donaghy and directed by Daniels, the pilot follows three young women (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady) who form a girl group with the hope of making waves in the music industry, and the choices they face along the way.

Gonzalez will play the abusive foster father of Simone (O’Grady), the younger sister of Star (Demorest).

Gonzalez recently wrapped work on the indie film Praying For Rain and had recurring roles on The CW’s Jane The Virgin and Amazon’s Bosch.

The 39-year-old Mexican American actor has been cast as a series regular on Fox’s comic book midseason drama Lucifer.

Alejandro, who appeared on True Blood and Arrow, replaces Nicholas Gonzalez who played the role in the pilot, written by Tom Kapinos and directed by Len Wiseman.

Based on the characters from the DC Entertainment’s Vertigo, the series, from Warner Bros. Television and Jerry Bruckheimer Television, centers on Lucifer (Tom Ellis) who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Alejandro will play Dan, a gruff LAPD homicide detective who is wary of Lucifer’s involvement with his wife and daughter.

Alejandro just recently became available, coming off the A&E drama The Returned. He previously was a regular on Southland and Golden Boy.

The 38-year-old Mexican American actor has landed a role on the CW’s superhero series The Flash, based on the fictional comic book superhero from the DC Comics universe.

Gonzalez, who appeared in a recurring role on Fox’s Sleepy Hollow, will portray Cisco Ramon’s (Carlos Valdes) older charming and savvy brother, Dante, according to TVLine. Dante is the family favorite child, but always secretly resented Cisco’s success.

Gonzalez will make his debut on The Flash in episode 16, which is entitled “Rogue Time.”

Gonzalez recently guest starred on CW’s Jane The Virgin. He also had a recurring role on the network’s 2009 Melrose Place remake, as well as appeared on Ugly Betty, Modern Family, Off The Map, True Blood and CSI: Miami.

“The Flash” returns to the CW on January 20.

Gonzalez Added to Voice Cast of Fox’s Animated Series “Bordertown”

Fox has announced that the 38-year-old Mexican American actor will voice the character of Ernesto Gonzalez on the network’s new animated series Bordertown.

From Family Guy’s Mark Hentemann and Seth MacFarlane, the series will explore family, politics and everything in between. It centers on two very different families living in a fictional Southwest desert town on the U.S. – Mexico border.

Gonzalez’s character is described as an ambitious immigrant and family man, who has been in the country less than 10 years, but is already doing better than his neighbor Bud Buckwald (voiced by Hank Azaria), which, it turns out, is a bit of an issue for the less-industrious native.

Bordertown

Azaria’s character is a married father of three and a Border Patrol agent who is just a tad behind the times and feels slightly threatened by the cultural changes transforming his neighborhood.

In addition to Gonzalez and Azaria, the voice cast members include Alex Borstein, Missi Pyle, Judah Friedlander and guest voice Efren Ramirez.

Gonzalez Cast in Recurring Role on Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow”

The 37-year-old Mexican American actor has signed on to appear in a recurring role on Fox’s new drama Sleepy Hollow, created by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.

The series follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s local female sheriff to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil.

Gonzalez, who recently signed on to appear on Lifetime’s Witches of East End, will recur as Luke, Abbie’s (portrayed Nicole Beharie) ex-boyfriend who works for the Sleepy Hollow Police Department.

Gonzalez is best known for playing Alex Santiago on Showtime’s boxing drama series Resurrection Blvd. His other television credits include appearances on The Glades, Off the Map, Melrose Place, CSI: Miami and True Blood.

 

Lifetime to Debut “Witches of East End,” Featuring Gonzalez, in October

Lifetime has announced plans to premiere its newest drama Witches of East End, which features the 37-year-old Mexican American actor, on October 6.

Gonzalez portrays Anthony Torcoletti on the series, which is based on Melissa de la Cruz’s highly popular novel of same name.

The series centers on the adventures of a mother (portrayed by Julia Ormond) and her two adult daughters, both of whom unknowingly are their family’s next generation of witches, who lead seemingly quiet, uneventful modern day lives in Long Island’s secluded seaside town of North Hampton. When one of the daughters becomes engaged to a young, wealthy newcomer, a series of events forces her mother to admit to her daughters they are, in fact, powerful and immortal witches.

Along with Gonzalez and Ormond, the series stars Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Eric Winter and Rachel Boston.

Gimenez to Star in ABC’s “The Returned” Drama Pilot

Landon Gimenez could be making his haunting television debut in the near future…

The young Latino actor has landed a lead role in ABC’s drama pilot The Returned, which will also feature Nicholas Gonzalez.

The project, written by Aaron Zelman and directed by Charles McDougall, chronicles the forever-changed lives of the people in Arcadia when their deceased loved ones return from the dead.

Gimenez will portray Jacob, one of “the returned.”

It’s the first television project for Gimenez, who has appeared in dance projects for the Laeral Dance Academy and the Missouri City Ballet.
