Maurice Compte Signs with Zero Gravity Management for Representation

Maurice Compte has zeroed in on new representation…

Zero Gravity Management has signed the Cuban-American actor-producer.

Compte is best known for portraying Pablo Escobar’s nemesis, Colonel Horacio Carillo, in the first two seasons of Netflix’s Narcos.

His other major credits include his villainous turn opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña in David Ayer’s police actioner End of Watch, and the STXfilms crime drama, Den of Thieves, in which he appeared alongside Gerard Butler.

Compte currently appears as Detective Mike Duarte on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and has also been seen on such notable series as Mayans M.C., Breaking Bad, Power and From Dusk Till Dawn, among others.

Other notable film credits include Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Ayer’s DEA crime pic, Sabotage.

As a burgeoning producer, Compte’s goal is to spotlight elevated and visceral stories with authentic cultural underpinnings. He is currently a co-executive producer on Hotel Cocaine — an upcoming crime drama from Narcos creator Chris Brancato that’s headed to MGM+. The show tells the story of Miami’s infamous Hotel Mutiny, where Compte’s father Roman was general manager during the drug-fueled 1980s.

Enrique Murciano to Star in Michelle Danner’s Courtroom Drama “Miranda’s Victim”

Enrique Murciano is heading to court…

The 48-year-old Cuban American actor will star in Michelle Danner’s courtroom drama Miranda’s Victim.

Murciano appears on a list of new cast additions that includes Emily VanCamp, Sebastian Quinn, Brent Sexton and Josh Bowman.

They join a stacked ensemble led by Abigail Breslin, which also includes Luke Wilson, Andy Garcia, Donald Sutherland, Ryan Phillippe, Mireille Enos, Kyle MacLachlan and Taryn Manning, as previously announced.

The film will tell the true story of Trish Weir (Breslin), who in 1963 was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda (Quinn). Committed to putting her assailant in prison, Trish’s life is destroyed by America’s legal system as she triggers a law that transforms the nation. Her case notably results in the establishment of the Miranda rights afforded to criminal suspects taken in police custody, to ensure the admissibility of statements made during interrogation, as part of subsequent criminal proceedings.

Murciano will portray Detective Cooley.

The film, written by George Kolber and J. Craig Stiles, is currently in production in New Jersey.

The production company involved is Navesink River Productions.

Murciano played Detective Marco Diaz on Netflix’s popular crime drama Bloodline and has also been seen on such series as Panic, Tell Me Your Secrets, Briarpatch, The Blacklist, Hap and Leonard and Power. Notable film credits include Bright, Rough Night, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Black Hawk Down. He’ll next be seen in the HBO Max rom-com Father of the Bride and Netflix’s series The Night Agent.

Paloma Guzman to Recur on Starz’s “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”

Paloma Guzman has (power) booked a new project…

The Latina actress has landed a heavily recurring role in the Starz/Lionsgate Power prequel series, Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

From creator and showrunner Sascha Penn, Power Book III: Raising Kanan takes viewers back to the ’90s and the early years of the now-deceased Kanan Stark, portrayed in Courtney Kemp’s original series by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

Guzman will play Detective Regina Foyle, a veteran NYPD detective with a sensitive yet rugged side. She’s a contradiction in all the best ways.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is executive produced by Kemp through her company End of Episode and Jackson through his G-Unit Film and Television.

Penn is the creator/showrunner of Raising Kanan. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.

Known for her role as Jacki Molina in Pretty Little Liars, Guzman recently wrapped filming a major recurring role on the upcoming season of Roswell, New Mexico.

Her previous credits include a recurring role on the final season of HBO’s The Deuce, as well as roles on Law & Order: SVU, FBI, Shades of Blue, among others.

Tracy Perez to Appear on Season Two of Starz’s “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”

Tracy Perez is powering up…

The Latina actress has joined the cast of Starz’ Power Book III: Raising Kanan for Season 2 in a recurring role.

Perez will portray Detective Adina Foyle, Detective Burke’s (Shanley Caswell) ex-girlfriend who is making a comeback as her new girlfriend.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is executive produced by Kemp through her company End of Episode and Jackson through his G-Unit Film and Television. Penn is the creator/showrunner of Raising Kanan.

Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.

Perez most notably starred in Hulu’s East Los High in the role of Vanessa De La Cruz across the show’s four seasons from 2013 to 2017. Her television credits also include roles in Animal Kingdom, Deadwax, and The Strain.

She will next appear in the Christian Sesma-directed film, Section Eight.

Berto Colon Upped to Series Regular on Starz’s “Power Book II: Ghost”

The 48-year-old Puerto Rican actor has been upped as a series regular for the sophomore season of Starz’s flagship drama series Power Book II: Ghost.

He will continue on the show as Lorenzo Tejada.

Colon’s Lorenzo Tejada — The patriarch of the Tejada organization, Lorenzo has been calling the shots for the drug organization — even from inside. But as Monet continues to flex her independence — and a desire to protect her kids from the game– Lorenzo’s need to control brings them into conflict. Power Book II: Ghost’s first season picks up shortly after the events of Power as Tariq St. Patrick grapples with a new world order: his father dead and his mother, Tasha, facing charges for the murder her son committed. With no better options, Tariq turns to the familiar drug game, entangling himself with a cutthroat family headed by Monet Stewart Tejada, that’s been at it far longer than him. La La Anthony to star in Netflix’s Romantic Comedy “The Perfect Find”

La La Anthony is celebrating perfection…

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican television personality and actress has joined the cast of Netflix’s romantic comedy The Perfect Find.

Anthony joins a list of new cast additions that includes Aisha Hinds and Janet Hubert.

Anthony and the gang will star opposite previously announced cast members Gabrielle Union, Keith Powers and Gina Torres.

The film, based on the novel by Tia Williams, centers on a 40-year-old woman with everything on the line—including a high-stakes career, ticking biological clock and bank account—watching to see if she’s willing to risk it all for an intensely lusty secret romance with the one person who could destroy her comeback for good.

Numa Perrier is directing, from a script she wrote with Leigh Davenport.

Anthony’s film credits include Spike Lee’s Chiraq and the Think Like a Man films.

On the television side, she is best known for her turns as Dom in Showtime’s The Chi, and as Lakeisha Grant in the Starz crime drama Power. Additional small-screen credits include The Freak Brothers, BH90210 and Unforgettable.

As a television personality, she has also hosted several series including La La’s Full Court Wedding and La La’s Full Court Life.

Natalee Linez Lands Recurring Role on “Power” Prequel Series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”

Linez, also known for appearing as Nicole Martinez on Freeform’s Sirens, will portray Jessica Figueroa a sharp and ambitious twenty-something who moves to South Jamaica, Queens from Baltimore. Famous’ older sister, Jessica is swept off her feet by Lou-Lou and his kind heart.

Linez will join series regulars Patina Miller, Mekai Curtis, Omar Epps, Hailey Kilgore, Lovie Simone, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Shanley Caswell, Toby Sandeman and Joey Bada$$, along with Quincy Brown and Ade Chike Torbert, who recur.

La La Anthony to Executive Produce the Horror Comedy “Juju”

La La Anthony is dealing with some bad Juju…

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican television personality, actress and entrepreneur has teamed up with Issa Rae for Juju.

Anthony and Rae will executive produce the upcoming horror comedy for Universal Pictures, according to Deadline.com.

The project will be based on an original concept by Angelica Nwandu, founder of Instagram-based info hub The Shade Room and a Sundance fellow, who will write the script.

Juju will be the studio feature directorial debut for Thembi Banks, a Sundance alum who has been a director on Rae’s Insecure and Frankie Shaw’s SMILF.

Anthony to prominence as an MTV VJ on Total Request Live. She hosted several VH1 reality television reunion shows, including Flavor of Love and I Love New York.

Her acting credits include You Got Served, Think Like a Man and Starz’s Power series.

Shalim Ortiz to Appear in Starz & Lionsgate’s “Power” Spinoff “Ghost”

Shalim Ortiz is seeing ghosts…

The 41-year-old Dominican and Puerto Rican actor and singer has landed a recurring role in Starz and Lionsgate’s Power spinoff Ghost.

The spinoff picks up shortly after thePowerseries finale, with Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) working to get his mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) out of jail after she took the fall for her son in James St. Patrick/Ghost’s (Omari Hardwick) murder.

Ortiz will play Danilo Ramirez, an NYPD officer stationed in the Tejadas’ backyard of Queens, NY. Ramirez will find himself torn between the duties of his badge and duty to the ones he loves.

Mary J. Blige and Cliff ‘Method Man’ Smith also star.

Executive produced by series creator and showrunner Courtney Kemp (End of Episode) and Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson (G-Unit Film and Television), Ghost also stars Power alum Shane Johnson once again as federal prosecutor Cooper Saxe.

Ortiz most recently appeared in ABC’s Grand Hotel. He previously starred on Starz’s Magic City.

His other notable television credits include CSI: Miami, Cold Case and NBC’s Heroes.

On the film side, Ortiz has appeared in The Winged Man and Bad Ass, among others.

Maurice Compte has new representation…

The Cuban American actor, best known for his role as tough Colombian cop Carillo on the first two seasons of Netflix’s Narcos, has signed with APA (Agency for the Performing Arts) in all areas.

Compte, who stars as Kevin on Mayans MC, has also starred as high-level drug dealer Diego on the hit Starz series Power, and a season-long arc on From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

He’s also appeared on Kevin Can Wait, The Last Ship, CSI, 24, Burn Notice, Lie To Me, Southland and most recently on the CW’s In The Dark.

On the film side, Compte also recently starred in Den Of Thieves opposite Gerard Butler, and appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Other feature credits include The Dream Catcher, Before Night Falls, All The Real Girls, End Of Watch and A Walk Among The Tombstones.
