Set over a smooth reggaeton beat and deftly incorporating elements of reggae and norteño, the track’s music video, which finds Vega trying to charm a pink-haired girl who eventually falls for him thanks to his slick rhymes.

“I’m so excited to finally put my first single out,” the Sonora-bred singer-songwriter said in a statement. “Alex Gallardo and the team at Sony Latin really got behind my vision and helped me reach this point. ‘Contigo Mami’ is everything I hoped my sound would be. I can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

The promising 14-year-old artist, who was signed to Sony Music Latin in September, plays guitar and accordion, and stands out for his fusion of regional Mexican, hip-hop, reggae and R&B.

Vega follows in the footsteps of his late uncle corrido singer Sergio “El Shaka” Vega and older brother Cornelio Vega.

“Ramon Vega has the same attitude, style and vision of this new generation of Latin music that is looking to incorporate their own identity with traditional sounds that stick to their roots and globalize them in ways that have no limits,” Alex Gallardo, president of Sony Music Latin, previously told Billboard. “His energy and talent represent the potential of these emerging artists, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Sony Music family.”
