Sigler to Star in Fox’s Hybrid Pilot “Fantasy Life”

It’s a sweet, sweet fantasy for Jamie-Lynn Sigler

The 33-year-old half-Cuban American actress has joined the ensemble cast of Fox’s multi-camera/hybrid pilot Fantasy Life.

The former The Sopranos actress will co-star opposite Kevin Connolly, Vanessa Williams, and James Caan .

Based on the memoir by one of U.S.’ top fantasy experts, ESPN’s Matthew Berry, the project was written by Tim McAuliffe.

When hard-working Mitch (Connolly) lands his ultimate dream job hosting a fantasy football show, he’s forced to navigate office politics while becoming the star he never thought he could be.

Sigler will play Abby, a strong, confident, attractive, smart, sports analyst on Mitch’s Fantasy Football league show. Caan plays an ex-legendary football player/coach who also is working on the show. Williams plays Mitch’s new boss.

Sigler most recently co-starred in NBC’s Guys with Kids.

Laresca Cast in NBC’s Jennifer Lopez Drama Series “Shades of Blue”

The 41-year-old half- Panamanian American actor has landed a co-starring role opposite Jennifer Lopez in NBC’s straight-to-series drama Shades of Blue.

Written by Adi Hasak and directed by Barry Levinson, Shades Of Blue follows a tight-knit crew of police officers who are effective at keeping the streets safe but also corrupt when it comes to lining their pockets and protecting their own. When one of the officers (Lopez) is forced to become a federal informant, she must decide between her own family’s welfare and that of her police family.

Laresca plays Tony Espada, alternately the bulldog and the moral compass for his team.

Meanwhile, Ray Liotta plays Lieutenant Bill Wozniak, the enigmatic and resourceful patriarch of the tight knit unit of corrupt cops, who steps outside the limitations of the law to protect his precinct. His all-consuming hunt for the informant drives him to dire extremes. The Sopranos alumna Drea de Matteo plays Shirley Nazario, a tough, outspoken female cop who holds her own with the men in her crew, and yet her brashness covers her insecurities.

Laresca’s previous television credits include appearances on  24CSI: Miami and Weeds.

Ramirez to Star in Canadian Pay TV Movie “First Response”

Dania Ramirez is heading to the Great White North…

The 34-year-old Dominican actress and Devious Maids star has signed on to star in the Canadian pay television movie First Response.

From indie producer Incendo, the thriller will feature Ramirez in the lead role as a veteran paramedic who, along with her partner, is hijacked and forced to tend to a gunman’s life-threatening wound.

Ramirez earned acclaim with earlier roles in Premium Rush, American Pie 4 and The Sopranos.

First Response also stars the Canadian actor Kristopher Turner.

The pay television movie for Canadian broadcaster Bell Media will be directed by Philippe Gagnon and shoot in Montreal.

Through its joint venture with 20th Century Fox International Television, Incendo is also Canada’s largest TV distributor.

Santiago Lands Key Role in Fox’s Drama “Gang Related”

Saundra Santiago is returning to television…

The 56-year-old Puerto Rican and Cuban American actress has joined the cast of Fox‘s midseason drama Gang Related.

Santiago, best known for her role as Detective Gina Calabrese on Miami Vice, replaces Wizards of Waverly Place star Maria Canals-Barrera on the Ramon Rodriguez-starrer, according to The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The drama centers on Ryan (Rodriguez), a gang member sent in to infiltrate the San Francisco Police Department and rise through its ranks. He must balance obligations to his crime family with an increasing sense of loyalty to his new “family” — the SFPD’s Gang Task Force.

Santiago will recur as Marciela, Javier’s (Cliff Curtis) wife and mother to Carlos (Reynaldo Gallegos) and Dante (Jay Hernandez). Though they’re not related by blood, she considers Ryan to be a third son.

In addition to Miami Vice, Santiago’s credits include Guiding Light, The Sopranos, Damages and One Life to Live.

An exact premiere date for Gang Related has yet to be announced.

Del Arco Promoted to Series Regular on TNT’s “Major Crimes”

The 47-year-old Uruguayan-born actor, who has been a recurring actor on TNT’s The Closer and its spin-off series Major Crimes, has been upped to series regular for Major Crimes’ second season.

Del Arco has portrayed the prickly but endearing medical examiner Dr. Morales.

He gained acclaim for his role as Hugh the Borg on Star Trek: The Next Generation. His other credits include appearances on Nip/Tuck, 24, The Sopranos and Dollhouse.

Major Crimes will return for its second season on TNT later this year.

Sigler Expecting Her First Child with Baseball Pro Beau

The 31-year-old half-Cuban American actress, who recently announced her engagement with Cutter Dykstra, is expecting her first child with the pro baseball player.

Sigler announced her pregnancy on Tuesday and her representative confirmed the baby news later.

“The pregnancy was a shock. She just told the cast and crew of Guys (her NBC series Guys With Kids),” a source told Life & Style.

Sigler’s news comes just two weeks after the former The Sopranos actress announced her engagement to the Washington Nationals infielder in late January.

“She couldn’t be more excited! Jamie can’t wait to be a mom,” said an insider.

Sigler and Dykstra have been dating for nearly a year and they took their relationship public in March 2012.

“It’s hard for me to find a sound bite about Cutter. I think the one thing I could say and the only thing I will say is that I would wish for any girl in the world to find their Cutter,” Sigler said about Cutter after they got engaged.

Sigler and Cutter have yet to announce their wedding date. She was previously married to A.J. Scala, but they separated in 2005 and divorced later.

Miranda to Appear on NBC’s “Do No Harm”

Lin-Manuel Miranda is taking his career to new heights… as he return to television with another guest-starring role.

The 32-year-old Puerto Rican actor, composer, rapper and  lyricist has signed on for a recurring role on NBC’s midseason drama Do No Harm.

Starring Steven Pasquale, the series centers on Jeffrey Kohn, a brilliant neurosurgeon wrestling with his dangerous alter ego who threatens to wreak havoc on his personal and professional life.

Miranda—best known for writing and starring in the Broadway musical In the Heights, which earned him  a Tony Award as composer and lyricist and a Grammy—will play the attending clinical pharmacologist at a Philadelphia hospital who works to help Jeffrey.

Most recently Miranda had a two-episode arc on the Fox’s drama House. And he appeared in an episode of HBO’s The Sopranos.

Hilton to Appear in Weekly Segment on Univision’s “El Gordo y La Flaca”

He’s the most notorious gossip columnist on the internet… And, now Perez Hilton is expanding his media empire.

The 33-year-old Cuban American blogger will be joining the team on Univision’s popular program El Gordo y la Flaca.

Every Thursday, starting this week, Hilton will appear on the show in a special segment from Southern California where he’ll discuss the latest gossip and buzz surrounding Hollywood stars.

Hilton – whose real name is Mario Lavandeira – was born in Miami and has become one of the entertainment industry’s most popular bloggers. His blog, which averages 200 million visits per month, provokes all sorts of feelings from his fans.

Hilton recently landing his first acting role in Spanish, playing the part of a “paparazzo’s guru” who gives advice to the protagonist of the MTV Latin America telenovela Popland. And, his Superfan celebrity interview project was recently picked up by the CW.

Lavandeira studied drama in college and has appeared in several television and film projects, including HBO’s The Sopranos.

Following guest-starring roles on Ugly Betty, Entourage and Last Man Standing, Jamie-Lynn Sigler could be making her triumphant return to primetime television as a series regular.

The 30-year-old half-Cuban actress, best known as Meadow Soprano on HBO’s The Sopranos, has joined the cast of NBC’s Jimmy Fallon comedy project DILFs.

The multi-camera comedy, written by Charlie Grandy, centers on three 30-something guys enjoying the adventures of parenting despite the fact they haven’t grown up themselves.

Sigler will play the cute, bubbly wife of one of them (Zach Cregger).
